  • Justice Anne Malloy questioned the credibility of the cops' witness testimony at the Umar Zameer trial while instructing the jury ahead of deliberations; nearly half a year after an announced pay bump for early childhood educators, many say they are still waiting for the wage increase; and, a cancer patient says the battle for his mental well-being was almost as great as his battle with stage 4 lymphoma.

    3) Did they continue investigating the stabbing which started this disaster?
    4) Their colleague died, but they waited more than a month to file a report. Didn't somebody pressure them to tell the story sooner? And once report was filed who accepted it as truth?
    5) They claimed that Northurp was hit directly, but even a dummy can see that there's no damage to front of Zameer's car. These guys are not too bright...
    6) If they are ever put on trial for perjury they should be suspended WITHOUT pay.
Geez, they attempted to ruin innocent person's life to cover up their own mistakes. Three cops, just like that. Makes you wonder is it mostly rotten apples.

Wait a minute... the use of the recklessness standard of fault does not apply in a case like this. I know that for the charge of obstructing police in the execution of duty they do NOT use the recklessness standard as to knowledge that someone is police. The test is, did the person subjectively believe this an officer and if the person was wrong in not believing that, was the non-belief reasonable? I mean someone looks like a robber and claims to be a cop. There is always the knowledge of the risk that this person is police... but the circumstances indicate a strong likelihood that this is a robber. Essentially. using recklessness puts the onus on a person to believe the person is a cop if there is an iota of possibility that he is one!

    • @albertstephen2426
      @albertstephen2426 Месяц назад +1

      You are absolutely correct!

Same here. Most os us in the BIPOC community think this should have never gone to trial since it was a pure accident and we're outraged that cops would commit perjury in describing what happened. Furthermore, how are we supposed to know who's a cop and who's not when you'reapproached in an underground paring garage by dudes in bermuda shorts and lounge-wear?
Yes in the white community (including mainstream media) you are all shocked that the verdict is not-guilty. wtf?
These people should be outraged of the behaviours of their colleuge's disgusting actions... not the verdict.
The verdict is 100% correct and this trial should never had happened.

It looks like the cops are lying. Too bad I don't think they needed to do that. But we must remember a man was killed in this incident. Whether the car driver thought he was a robber and didn't know he was a cop. He is still responsible for that man's death. They are calling it an accident. But he didn't do anything to avoid that accident. He at least acted irresponsibly to the point of criminal. I would venture to say he is guilty of criminal neglect and will probably be found guilty of Manslaughter. If he gets off it will demonstrate how little they are concerned for the dead cop.
This isn't the first time a cop has been hit by a suspect vehicle. They need to get it through their heads. NOT to stand in the path of a moving vehicle.

The Toronto Police, I’m sure would have made SOME attempt to identify themselves in the executions of their duty on that fateful, tragic day!
    I have trouble believing otherwise
One of Toronto’s Finest was killed that day! And the officer who was killed, to my knowledge of following this case, had an impeccable service record.
The defence did not prove that the accused or his family were in any immediate and physical danger. And merely being frightened is not enough to justify striking and killing another human being with a motorized vehicle, let alone a Toronto Police Officer!
The Crown really should appeal this acquittal! It could have been erroneously made based on certain mistakes the trial judge may or may not have made.
And this is not the United States, Canada does not have “double jeopardy” statutes.
Also … people of MINORITIES I find, and this has happened to me personally. Are in the habit these days of WEAPONIZING their obvious skin colour and physical differences in order to curry favour and gain advantage, whatever they may be, in Western Christian countries such as Canada and the United States!
I am stating the truth here. And there are NUMEROUS videos on social media to back my statement up.
It also does not help when “bleeding heart” people, who mostly lean toward the liberal Left on the political spectrum, aid and abet this kind of destructive and evil behaviour.

      1. Burden of proof is on the Crown, not the defense. The defense doesn't have to prove anything beyond a reasonable doubt, especially whether or not the accused was in danger.
      2. Canada does have Double Jeopardy. It just goes into effect after the verdict has been finalized - ie, after both parties have exhausted all their appeal options. The prosecution still has to have a good reason to appeal, as well. They don't just get to continuously try to charge people for the same crime over and over.
