Seeing a video like this just goes to show that not every manufacturer can be like RMC and Gravity Group and start off great right away. B&M, GCI, and Vekoma especially started off with some pretty lackluster coasters looking back and they all have improved significantly since.
Hopefully Skyline Attractions can follow in the footsteps of those manufacturers especially considering they have already done a lot of great work with GCI. They just need to figure things out with their own rides and I think they will.

I was genuinely shocked when I saw #2 wasn’t #1, but I had forgotten about Hades. I’m a little sad I’ve only ridden 4 of these (T Tornado, Runaway Mountain, Matterhorn and NTG) but many are overseas so that doesn’t help me much lol. Also a friendly critique, in German when there is an “ie” in a word or name (like Wiegand), it’s pronounced with an “eee”, and if it’s “ei” it’s pronounced with an “i”. The east way to remember is whichever letter is second is the one to say. Great video, this was an excellent topic!

I rode Hades in it's first year and it's still probably one of my best experiences on a coaster. I haven't ridden it since they added the inversion, but from what I've seen I think it actually makes the ride worse. The problem is that the corkscrew slows down the train a lot more than the old turn did. Not only does this make the end of the ride less intense, but it means they can only run full trains otherwise it risks valleying on the way back.
    Original Hades best Hades.

It's the Timberliners that are slowing it down, not the inversion itself. Holiday World looked into getting Timberliners for The Voyage long ago; this ended up being a long, multiple-year long saga, but the short version is they opted to keep the PTCs because the Timberliners ran much slower.

The first 90% of Firebird is actually pretty fun since the conversion from standup to floorless. Not great, but enjoyable. The headbanger part about 90% through the ride is brief enough that it doesn’t completely ruin it but it keeps me from riding it more than once or twice a visit.

Thanks for making another great video with plenty of details to nerd out over. Today I'm picking No. 23, PTC-Figure Eight. Being from the Cleveland area, I always appreciate a mention of the venerable Euclid Beach, but I think it's only fair to mention that EB's Figure Eight was one of seven figure 8 model coasters to open in PTC's inaugural year. I'm guessing you only chose the Euclid Beach Figure Eight because it was at the top of the list on rcdb when you sorted PTC coasters by year (oldest to newest). Unfortunately, that is just because when multiple dates are the same the list is alphabetized by park. Norfolk Virginia's, Pine Beach Park was home to PTC's Figure 8 Toboggan and credited with PTC's serial #1. However, a lower serial number doesn't necessarily mean a faster opening since serial no.7 opened in 1905 the year after Euclid Beach's Figure Eight, which is credited with serial no. 9.

I am biased because I have a soft spot for Arrow. I think Matterhorn should be #1 just because of the revolutionary tubular track Arrow built. It's arguable that Arrow was the most innovative roller coaster manufacturer of all time (RMC, B&M, and Schwarzkopf probably have a good case, too), but I would argue that those manufacturers wouldn't be around if Arrow hadn't invented things like the tubular steel track, the modern inversion, and corkscrew.

Every RCCA coaster takes the top spot for worst layout of any coaster and Rattler is the worst of the worsy
The coaster spends more time on the helix (a full minute) than the entire drop-to-brakes duration on Iron Rattler. (Correct me if I’m wrong)

Shame it’s not still there (or at least a good replacement). They’re really missing a good launch coaster.

I rode Wildcat in 1996 with a 2+ hour wait. I remember it being smooth then. I rode it again in 2007 (ish) and liked it then too. I've been back, but i skipped it... now I hear it's rough. I gotta make it back to Hershey, for other reasons mostly lol but I'll try to get a ride on Wildcat.

I’m so confused about the claim that the Giovanola invert was based/ripped off from B&M when Bolliger and Mabillard were both employees at Giovanola who decided to form their own company. They literally worked for Giovanola at the time the invert was built. Besides that great vid, a good mix of interesting and entertaining.

This invert was built in 1999 so Bolliger and Mabillard had been out of the company for 12 years. They were responsible for Giovanola having that track design, and I imagine the people still with the company in the late 90s took their inspiration for this layout from Batman the Ride

@@AirtimeThrills Yeah I think I missed the date. Plus the Giovanola track design was similar to begin with, adding to the confusion.

When I was a kid, I remember thinking Wildcat was the exciting woodie out of the three at Hershey. Went this past summer and it beat the hell out of my friends and I lol. Comet was the tamest but was the most fun due to the length and fun airtime pops. Lightning Racer wasn't the most exciting but it has some of the best dueling interactions if you have friends in the other train.

A Little Bit off topic but I went on Thunderhawk at Dorney Park a while ago and in the station there was a whiteboard saying “PTC>RMC” Dorney may be my home park, but I can’t agree with that.

Ok yea kingdom coaster is pretty tame and not really rough at all. I live 2 hrs south of dutchwonderland and my family goes there every summer and sometimes with our cousins and we would ride it like 10 times in a row without getting off bc of no lines and it’s amazing-

Correction at 8:36 : Premier has actually built 3 non-launch coasters: Runaway Mountain, Buzzsaw Falls at Silver Dollar City, and Vonkaputous at Linnanmäki.

My mom used to visit fiesta texas during the summer everyday with her friends, she said that the rattler was her favorite ride when it opened and said it was smooth, but then a couple years later she told me it was extremely rough
