I've ridden it 3 times and it was only cause they were too distracted on NYE to scan my card ($17/ride) and I essentially rode for free. The ride is so entangled in the building so they can't just ditch it as easily as some think.
It must have been improved a lot since a few years ago. I just went on it last week with my family and all of us had a great time. No roughness experienced. 🤷♂️ The riders on our train also said it was fun. I wouldn't have even known it was infamous for roughness if I hadn't seen this video.
I have vague memories of riding this as a kid around when it first opened. I think it was this one, but really I only remember riding a coaster I believe was during a trip to visit my grandparents who lived in Vegas, and the feeling of my head smacking around inside the over-the-shoulder restraints
We stayed at the Excalibur hotel in 2017 and our room had a perfect view of the coaster and New York New York. I remember practically begging my family to go on it cause we've always been coaster fans but after reading a few reviews and finding out it was $15 a person per ride we opted out. I half regret not getting the credit but I also am slightly grateful to have not been traumatized by it.
I love roller coasters, when I travel to anyplace in the world I see what is there major roller coaster. I rode that New express coaster maybe 20 years ago. Once was enough for me. Not an enjoyable ride. You been warned.
I rode it when brand new and then again years later. First time was awesome. The ride was super smooth. The second time years later it beat the crap out of me. The ride just vibrates like crazy. Makes you wonder if they just don't maintain it that much.
This wasn't even close to the most uncomfortable coaster I've been on. The "winner" there would be Flashback at SIx Flags Magic Mountain. The scariest in an "OMG, this ride is going to collapse while I'm on it." way was Mr. Twister at Elitch Gardens.

My coaster tolerance is getting lower as I get older, but I hope to ride Steel Vengeance before I give up riding entirely.
@@blizzmuzic I agree, vortex would be a good one.
Thanks for the video, greetings from Spain!
Hola friend!
@@ExpeditionThemePark Hola Expedición de Parque Temático! hahaha (your channels name in spanish)
Lived in Vegas most of my life - only rode this once after I came off feeling like I was thrown into 80 mosh pits in a row
It's not that bad, I've rode it over the years. I still miss the MGM theme park I grew up with in the 90s
Rode it a few times around 1999. I was younger but it didn't seem to bad. Loved it
“The best roller coaster in Las Vegas” yeah, one of the only roller coasters in Las Vegas 😂
There's 2 other coasters still operating in Las Vegas, Cayon Blaster and El Loco
The Sahara rollercoaster used to be awesome
General Esdeath don’t forget what el loco did to that amputee 💀
Toxic Green wait what
Isabelle !! A woman literally fell out of El Loco while it was in motion
I love the New York New York coaster. What a rush! It's what got me into larger coasters.
So is Nobody gonna talk about how that one guy calls Manhattan Express one of the best coasters in the world?
Happy New Year Sam! I've never ridden this but since six flags great adventure is my home park I've had the unfortunate experience of riding Viper during it's short stay there. I'd never ride another TOGO in the US again. It still blows my mind when I'm boarding El Toro that Viper once stood there.
I love El Toro so much! Hoping to cover that park soon
I did a marathon on Big Apple Coaster a few months ago
.. I really enjoyed it. 🤷🏿♂️
It has some fans!
C M R I used to marathon this coaster when I went to Vegas every year. Always ended up regretting it because I’d end up with pretty badly bruised shoulders and a bruised butt (it would actually hurt to sit on any hard surface for a few days afterwards). You’d think I would have learned my lesson after the first time, but no, I just had to marathon it every year after that. I guess I’m just a glutton for punishment. 🤪😂
What a great New Years Day surprise, I have been looking forward to this video. Vegas in the 90s really was something special. Looking forward to watching your channel grow in 2020🥂Cheers
Thank you and happy New year!!
never fail to amaze
Thanks!
The new trains by Premier Rides have made this ride INCREDIBLE. It's pricey but fun now!!! One of my favorites!!!!!
6:22 great view of a parking garage!
The best
Truly stunning hunty
Definitely one of the best coasters I've been on, and the only one that ever left me with bruises from the the negative G-forces.
I figured it was only a matter of time before the Big Apple Coaster was discussed since the flaming trashcan known as Desperado got a video. Lmao
Didn't take long!
I've ridden it 3 times and it was only cause they were too distracted on NYE to scan my card ($17/ride) and I essentially rode for free. The ride is so entangled in the building so they can't just ditch it as easily as some think.
0:51 Huh, don't remember this part of Ghostbusters 2...
Deleted scene
@@ExpeditionThemePark Ah, okay
It must have been improved a lot since a few years ago. I just went on it last week with my family and all of us had a great time. No roughness experienced. 🤷♂️ The riders on our train also said it was fun. I wouldn't have even known it was infamous for roughness if I hadn't seen this video.
They added new trains in 2021, with an improved restraint style. It helped alleviate some of the roughness.
I hope to god Apollo’s Chariot gets covered in this series
Maybe
I have vague memories of riding this as a kid around when it first opened. I think it was this one, but really I only remember riding a coaster I believe was during a trip to visit my grandparents who lived in Vegas, and the feeling of my head smacking around inside the over-the-shoulder restraints
I rode it a couple months back. It was not a pleasant experience- at all!
been subbed for a while, love the history of coasters and theme park
We stayed at the Excalibur hotel in 2017 and our room had a perfect view of the coaster and New York New York. I remember practically begging my family to go on it cause we've always been coaster fans but after reading a few reviews and finding out it was $15 a person per ride we opted out.
I half regret not getting the credit but I also am slightly grateful to have not been traumatized by it.
I never thought it hurt anymore than the others in town and stateline. I rode it probably 50 times and thought it was smooth and awesome!
do one on Disaster Transport, matterhorn bobsleds, skyrush, or ride of steel.
I will
@@ExpeditionThemePark ok, keep up the amazing work, love your channel.
Rode it last night- I didn’t think it was very rough at all, but it feels like tons of wasted potential. I love the first two drops!
krohn7master BLACK LIVES MATTER
I call it "𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗱-𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗿"
Happy New Year's Day Expedition Theme Park!
Happy New Year!

Me: keep telling yourself that
He still is
Uggg, I'm getting a headache just thinking about this coaster lol
TOGO should just stick to building Ultratwisters
Not anymore!
Nah Fujiyama is actually incredible. Way better than Magnum and a few B&M hypers imo!!
I hear that subtle cup head music, it’s too perfect.
Watching this vid made my tailbone hurt, I'm not even memeing
(I did ride this in 2012)
Haha sorry!
Amazing video once again, well documented, and with amazing content !
Thank you!
You go over alot of rides made by Ron Toomer, not this, but it is just something I noticed.
Yeah of course!
I've been wanting this for so long!!
Hope you like it!
@@ExpeditionThemePark well it didn't disappoint!!!! Great vid!!!!
This ride has the worst shoulder restraints I’ve ever experienced on a rollercoaster.
They are bad
Mine would lift up easily I didn't trust it bkuz they didn't lock so the whole ride I held them down along with the waist restraint
Legit was scared for my life when I realized they didn't lock
I just noticed in recent videos they changed the restraints. I might give it a chance if the price ever goes down.
Another excellent vid, thanks! 🙂
Thank you!
I love roller coasters, when I travel to anyplace in the world I see what is there major roller coaster. I rode that New express coaster maybe 20 years ago. Once was enough for me. Not an enjoyable ride. You been warned.
Haha yeab
0:50 I'd put that terrible commercial in the far back of my mind and then there it is again. Thanks alot!
I rode the coaster once.....just once. That was 14 years ago. The thing with Vegas is that there are so many other things to do than ride a coaster.
It's true
I rode it when brand new and then again years later. First time was awesome. The ride was super smooth. The second time years later it beat the crap out of me. The ride just vibrates like crazy. Makes you wonder if they just don't maintain it that much.
15 dollars to ride it
For 2 rides i can go to a whole themepark
The buffet in most casinos cost over $25, now that is overpriced. But, they have a trapped customer base so they can overcharge.
This wasn't even close to the most uncomfortable coaster I've been on.
The "winner" there would be Flashback at SIx Flags Magic Mountain.
The scariest in an "OMG, this ride is going to collapse while I'm on it." way was Mr. Twister at Elitch Gardens.
VR my friends is how you ruin any coaster.
Not been on a good.one yet
Expedition Theme Park Well, Galactica...
When it was still there lol.
I would have to disagree, it makes mediocre rollercoasters cool. It really helped the Iron Dragon at Cedar Point.
Loving the new Vegas bops
