Very cool video! I have played doumbeks and djimbes for some years, got my hands on this
hand drum a long time ago and never learned to do anything with it. However, it absolutely will not make the sharp sounds that yours does. It has a very deep voice with some lovely vibrato in it. No matter how you strike it, pretty much makes the same deep sound. It is 21 1/2 inches in diameter, 2 1/2inches deep, has no thumb hole, but there is a half circle cutout in the edge about 1 1/2 inch diameter. There are 4 small holes on the cross points that I assume may be designed for a leather thong or dowel rods like I have seen on bodhran drums. Most of the time I have played it, I just follow along on the "doums" on whatever beat the circle is doing, it definitely makes you feel that deep boom! I have just begun my explorations to find out how to play it better.

This was very motivating for me as a beginner and I think I finally got that singing rim sound right! Thank you so much for sharing!
