You can make the cars as safe as humanly possible but at the end of the day every race car drive from go-karts to dirt tracks to NASCAR to formula1 they are all at risk of injury or death every time they get in the seat!
Anybody that gets behind the wheel of a vehicle increases their chances of dying.
Racing these days is pretty safe, Look up the amount of people to die from racing in the last year or two. it's not that much.

For sure, if he didn't go so high in the air and that rear end housing was still attached, he probably would have had a better landing. Hope his recovery goes well. And for all those Logano haters, just shut up! Wasn't his fault and he truly had concern over his fellow competitors, just that everyone makes him look bad and he isn't a bad dirty driver, period.

I like Danica a LOT more than Logano and it clearly was not Logano's fault. Well his car's fault but he could not control it. Logano and Danica could've been really injured the way they took the hits but they are ok. Let's hope best wishes in Almirola's recovery.
That was my first NASCAR race I ever went to. I’m a 43 fan, and we were just about to leave, when I look to my right and I see almirola in the air in the shower of sparks. I was so surprised. And days later finding out what happened to him, I couldn’t believe that was my first race I went to.

Yeah that's true. But when Kahne first signed with Hendricks he ran a Toyota,for read bull just like when he ran a few races in xfinity he ran a Toyota while driving for Richard petty. I'm not say your wrong I'm just saying it has happened. Either way just get someone competitive. 👍🏻

well Austin's wreck was different. The front end of the car was just completely ripped off and then rode the fence before coming down. But yes, it's miracle that Austin didn't get hurt.

Almirola was in a 4 wheel slide so he hit Danica with the side of his car and the hit with joey wasn't much better it was more head on but not quite
Almirola's right rear impacts Danica's left rear right around the same time the front impacts Logano. The angle makes it tough to see but when they have it paused when the rear end is in the air you can see a little damage to the right rear of Almirola's car. The combination aided in propelling the car so high. The front impact alone most likely wouldn't have resulted in that much, if any, air time.

A whole bunch of debbie-downers on here. Saying Aric's career wont be the same, he will retire, or out for the season. Denny Hamlin had the same injury and he cameback in 5 weeks. And by the next year he was winning races again...The only crash I seen where a young driver wasn't the same after, was probably Dale Jr Sonoma 2004. He had 4 wins and was leading the points. After it, He never led the points again for the rest of his career and scored 4 wins only once in 2014.
David Stewart could also argue his wreck at Atlanta early in his career aided in that as well.
Exaclty, he will come back. He's only 33, has over 2 more decades before thinking about retiring. It's just like a injury on the football field, they will heal, recover, go through rehab, and be back out there.
He led points in 2012 tho
If they had compress able springs yet ,and not riding on bump stops .he probable would not be hurt ,they need to get rid of bump stops ,put them back on regular suspensions ,call out the springs and shocks,harden the tires get rid of the valance and spoilers.then we will have something to watch again.until then good luck lost car ,I mean nascar
