The fact that so many people relate with and love this song makes me so happy. Their "slogan" (for lack of a better term) is "stay alive." And people are doing just that because of them and that fills my heart with joy and pride for them.

Saw them live yesterday and honestly, I've never been to a concert quite like it. there was so much crowd interaction and good vibes all around. Going into the concert I had high expectations, after all I was told they were really good, but just after they started the first song I could already tell they were going above and beyond my expectation. So I recommend that you all go to a tøp concert sometime in your life, even if you're not that much of a fan because I promise that it will be worth it. I know I will definitely be going again, absolutely.

I don't know why but when he had everyone jump and gave them the camera, I started crying because it made me think "The car radio could represent happiness and someone had taken that from him and now he just can't have it anymore and that's why he is silent." and so he wants everyone to realise the good things like going to concerts and he's trying to give them their "car radios" back.
mind blown, nice way to think about. I always thought the car radio represent distraction. people including myself, listen to music to basically escape our terrible reality so we don't have to deal with our problems. Because there's no car radio to distract us, we are force go acknowledge that the problems and that tends to drive us insane.

His name is Tyler Joseph, and I don't know, but I think it's like once he can't hear the music anymore, he is left with his thoughts and they are hard to escape because it is just him with nothing to distract him. I've heard that that's what it's about, and it kind of makes sense, although I'm not sure
He said he wrote this song after his car radio was literally stolen in college, and he said that once it was stolen, it was weird how since there was no music to immediately listen to, he only had himself and his thoughts.

I remember seeing these guys open for Paramore and it was the first time I'd seen them and I was blown away! There is so much passion within these two guys, it's amazing! :)

Finally, i’ve found the song that my buddy been addicting long time ago. He introduced to me when we hung up while playing guitar and he asked me to play a very simple chord and rhythm of this song while he was rapping along. I really didnt have any idea what this song was as i only introduce to only few song of this band. Then today i figured out that this is the song that we both played together 2 years ago.
Somehow this song tells me a lot what he has been gone thru his life. He is kinda passionate about music as he was a musician and he was actually our drummer (we call him travis as he can play exactly like travis baker). But unfortunately, we used to jammed together but not the twenty one pilot song.
He passed away 1 and a half year ago. He got crashed with his car nearby our neighbourhood but his body has been found about 5km away from the accident area. The doctor claimed that internal body organ injury was the reason that cost his life. His death remain misery until today. Ironicly, the song really attach to the things that he’s been facing when he was still alive. The radio, the music, the struggle of life, the car with the best sound system among our friends and even the lyrics of the song. What really hit me is this is the song that he sang we had our last karaoke session. This song definitely was less popular among the click but he decided to dive into his passion to this song and kept singing it.
When i read the lyrics and try to figure out why he really was so attach to this song before his death, then i know and kinda get the feeling now. I miss him more than anything now. Really.😢
Anyway i come all the way here for the live version because i still remember that my late buddy told me about how good this band during live. And i have to admit it now.
And his last wish was to go to the twenty one pilot concert. Its seem it is impossible now. But honestly, this band already became my favourite band. And this song will be my favourite song of this band.

I am 46 years old. When I was young I believed because of my love of music I would always be up on the newest stuff. Not true. I struggle to find new music that speaks to me and that I can really get into. 21 Pilots though??? Yeah I love this band.

"you can close your eyes if you want. sometimes things are less scary." those aren't just meaningless empty words. just listen to the emotion in his voice. he really means it when he says it. i've been having a really hard time staying around but i'm so glad i discovered their music. i don't know what i would've done if i hadn't. i just feel empty, like all the parts of my brain that made me feel emotions were surgically removed but their music is the only thing that makes me feel understood. like i matter. like i have a purpose. for a few minutes i can just lay down, shut everything out and get lost in my little world. i'll never be able to thank them for saving my life and that makes me sad.

so I just wanna say thank you to this band, they are helping deal with my problems because their music so relatable. this song and holding onto you is probably much more precious because I'm dealing with suicidal thoughts and hating myself and whatnot, I don't wanna go into details or I'll be called "attention seeker". Anyways, I wish I discovered this band much sooner. They are truly unique, they don't sing or "rap" ( Tyler doesn't rap, he just talks really fast. ) about sex and/or drugs which is what most of the artists sing/rap in this generation. Every time this song is playing I just want to burst into tears so much! This is gonna sound cliche and all but they actually did save my life, well, helped with it. They helped me to stop self harming and try to accept who I am.

Legitimately one of the best bands I have ever seen live. These guys are just insane. I saw them in a small venue in Louisville, KY (playing with my homeboys Farewell Fighter! who are also awesome!) with a crowd of maybe 30 people (maybe that, possibly less) like just a few weeks or so before they got signed to FBR. It was such an amazing, mind-blowing night, man.
