Very cool trails! Catching wildlife is always so hit or miss but all the same... it's very neat seeing those cranes. Not something I've seen much of here though I know there are areas of the state they migrate to.
You do such a good job getting a variety of content. Not messing with those birds. Free is always good with a family. This my type of trail. Always love hearing about the stories behind these places. Great job vlogging and giving history at the same time. You had this place all to yourself. This was a good find.
Way back when the Fish and Wildlife were attempting to integrate Whooping Cranes with Sandhill Cranes I used to lay in a chaise lounge in my yard in Corrales and watch through binoculars trying to spot one of the Whoopers as they flew overhead. Having spent 45 years living along the Rio Grande (Espanola, Corrales) it was an extreme pleasure to listen to and watch the Sandhills flying overhead, just another wonderful aspect of the Northern New Mexico magical majesty. @@SwiftyTravels
This looks like a beautiful place for a walk. Glad you found the water view. We have been to several wildlife refuges in our travels and it is always hit and miss. Sometimes we have seen some wildlife - sometimes we have seen very little or no wildlife. I do think time of day has something to do with it. And time of year. And weather. But it is always nice to see some wildlife off in the distance living their best life at the refuge. I love the wood carvings by the Pueblo Montano trailhead. Thanks for taking us along to see this lovely trails and birding areas!
