My initial love for this sort of sound came from childhood, as with many of us. But it also reminds me of another time. Ten years ago I had this godawful job which involved working Tuesday-Saturday. The Saturday was an early morning (6-2). This might sound a bit daft, but I used to love coming back on cold, rainy days to my apartment, turning the heating on and then just putting my washing on and lying down in front of it. I'd listen to the thrum of the machine and the distant thud of the rain, feel the aches in my legs and just kind of think about things in a slow, ponderous trance.
Wow, this is so tranquil Mr. HASH . What a great combination of white noise . I should have thought of this one. I have been sleeping next to the washer and dryer since I was a wee one . And my favorite or most ambient cycle is the first one as the washer is filling with water and beginning to spin the clothes around. YOU ARE A WHITE NOISE GENIUS! I am glad I shared this site with some friends as one, in particular, was going thru some rough times and this helped her relax and feel much better. Thank you for this magic of white noise and the visual.
Our other Laundry room in our other house was down in the basement. We could look out from the cellar window and see the same picture you have on the screen when it was raining with the noble washer & dryer churning and rumbling away...great memories!
No you're not, this is supposed to be the sound we hear in our mother's womb apparently and this is why many of us find it so comforting. Plus it's called white noise because the complex frequencies should have a soothing effect on our brain .
this is a good one...its got that rythmic drum beat to it that a lot of other vids dont have...i guess the newer the washing machine the less clunky so this one must be a few years old.. I might try doing a clip via mine which is a really crap chinese one
This is art. I can feel the sympathetic stimilation on my brain and it spreads along to my medulla spinalis. I feel like fully concantrate. This sounds make me think there is nothing that i haven’t been able to do.
As excellent as this is, it would have been sublime had it had some low rumbles of thunder, here and there, interlaced with the rain and washer sounds. It's pretty obvious that I get into this kind of thing.

It's strangely comforting. I put on a wax melt that smells like fresh laundry, it is so fitting! I think it will lull me to sleep soon . :-)
