Wow what a beer! There's a bottle in my local bottle shop I've been thinking of getting for a while and this review has sealed my decision.
Also lovely to meet you last week at Brew York. Keep up the good job work!
I've been looking forward to this review, cheers!
Totally agree it's an amazing beer, from a country of amazing beers. Bush De Nuits is another expensive one, and quite rare, but its also fantastic. Which you reviewed 7 years ago.
You really do have one of the best jobs in the world. Getting paid to stand in your kitchen drinking some of the best beers in the world for free.
Another one to try.. thank you mate 🤘🍻 One bottle of that would be enough for me I reckon.
We all love Roy now!!!!
delirium is great stuff, i persoanlly love the Chimay beers though, such great options
I havent tried any delirium beers yet after watching this i definiteley will be a very good review
Sounds good Simon, I’ve only tried their Delirium Christmas which was also very good. I’ll have to hunt for this one, but thankfully here in the Netherlands It’s not a rare beer to find.
Had it on Keg was £17 a pint, delicious though
not sure why but if i see "barrel aged" i always avoid...maybe i should try a nice one? this looked decent...
Can confirm - this is an amazing beer.
Love the t-shirt
That was like a Fairytale Potion on the bottle opening ! 😂
I thought that too. Like a genie was about to pop out say its too strong for Englishmen.
The brewery is based in Ghent and you get the see the pink elephant on the brewery wall as you roll past on the train to Brussels.
The manner that it was created is, even for me as a Belgian, amazing. It's expensive cause it matures during 9 months. It's like a baby 😀😊
That’s natural carbonation. Love it. I never CO2 my beer. It’s cheating 🙂
honestly. i thought it wasnt great. i came away thinking "is that it?" . it was a really good beer BUT i didnt think it was anyway near their tremens, nocturne or red.
10 of 10. At least it was worth it.
I had this at Christmas, is a stonker
Only tangentially related as a Belgian beer but you can still get Leffe 6.6% in Wetherspoon's on draught
Is it still 6.6 there? I seem to remember Wetherspoons having a problem with Leffe availability about 2 years when there were problems at the ports. They must import it.
If they sell the proper 6.6% recipe I'd have one, I've stopped buying the uk supermarket Leffe, the taste has been ruined..
@@tomwilliams7391 I'm at one now and yep it's still at the old level
No its not Leffe on spoons is the 6.0% version 100% Proof is in the taste its terrible
The only place u can now get 6.6% Leffe is either on the PD or online, Beers of Europe still stock 6.6% Leffe I often buy it often but be warned they're now ripping us right off as it used to be £1.41 a bottle now suddenly its £3.30 a bottle
@@andrewcarpenter3339IT’s slit 6.6 at spoons
Wow! Want!
Had a beer called 'De Gaare'. Nothing I've had has ever come close.
unreal beer. was in their cafe/bar last year. one of the best nights out I've ever had. they know their cheeses and beer
Gulden Draak Quadruple
Draak is excellent
not superman?? you used to fighting vampires in barry....
45 pounds!!! I bought it in Lithuania for 24 euros.
How much???!!! That's a good bottle of wine money, and should be treated as such. It would go wonderfully with Belgian cuisine, as they used beer in their cooking. I'm thinking of beer braised venison loin.
I'm definitely going to search this one out.
If you're ever in Brussels look up In 't Spinnekopke. Wonderful old restaurant int he back streets that serves every dish, I think, cooked in beer, bar the mussels. The rabbit I've had in there is superb. (Why can't we get rabbit in this country?) Don't know if they do this beer though.
@@WolfmanWoody I may just look that up!! I did a field trip from my university to the Netherlands once. The hotel did 14 different Belgian beers, starting at 6.7%. I tried doing the lot in one evening, got to number 12 and don't remember the rest of the evening!! 🤣🤣
