To Abel Ramirez: Yes you can. Place one lead from the ohm meter on pin 10 and the other lead to the solenoid you want to test. For example, if you want to test the 2/4 shift solenoid, place one lead on pin 10 and the other to pin 21. Pin 10 is in the 3rd row, and is the 3rd pin (or in the middle of all the pins) This pin is common (basically one pin from each solenoid is connected to pin 10). Line pressure/variable force = pin 10 and 12 Direct clutch = pin 10 and 20 Overdrive clutch = pin 10 and 19 Under-drive = pin 10 and 7 Low/reverse = pin 10 and 2 2/4 = pin 10 and 21 Low clutch = pin 10 and 17 Base on my experience with this solenoid pack, resistance measurement can check ok and they still don't work as they should. It is best to just change the whole pack. UPDATE: Also change the 2/4 solenoid valve/plunger located behind the valve body (look like a little black plug) and all 6 o-rings. O-rings = $2.80 each at Chrysler dealer 2/4 valve/plunger = $8.50 at Chrysler dealer Good luck...
Very informative and well made video. Great explanation. helped me to find failed solenoid. I replaced only failed solenoid instead spending too much for full pack. Car runs great. Thank you for making and sharing video.
Thanks to Jose for answering my question. One other question I'm curious about, all the charts/tables I have seen online showing what the ohm readings should be for the 62te solenoid pack (in particular the one that the Motor City Mechanic has), show the solenoids should be 1.6-1.8 ohms except for the Line Pressure Solenoid which is 4.8-5.1 ohms and the signal pins show 300 ohms. All my solenoids are 1.1 ohms, the line pressure solenoid is 2.6 ohms (most likely bad) and my signal pins all have 104.4 ohms, those readings are consistent which I'm going to assume is good but like I said different from any posted chart or diagram I've seen ? Are there some that are different does anybody know or I have I got an oddball solenoid block ? The transmission has a tag on it that says it is a rebuilt transmission.
Might be a good idea to check the continuity at the other end of the 23 pin wire harness, so it too is included in the test. What if there was a break in the wire or a bad contact at the connector pins...
Hello, my Journey 2014 3.6 went into emergency mode and made a cavitation noise in the Valve Body, I replaced the Filter and the oil because it was clogged and after I replaced the oil and the filter the Code P083B appears, already I reset the code with a scanner but the code comes back, I've already checked all the electrical harnesses, everything is ok, and no noise appears. Could it be the valve body? Or the Pressure Sensor?
yes! i found out that's her! But, i not still found the real problem! The vehicle is working in emergency mode, just in 3rd speed, i'm working this! thanks for attention.

Hi Patrick. If I'm getting 1.1 and 1.2 on most of them, is that too low or within normal limits? I know you said if it's higher it should be okay, but I'm not sure what an acceptable low would be. Thanks in advance.
Patrick where is the valve body cover located on an 08 grand caravan? Sorry for the dumb question but i cannot determine where to start from the video or anywhere on the net?

Patrick, thanks for the video. I did this test on my 09 Routan and received 6.0 ohms and 2.0 ohms for the rest. Are these numbers cause for worry or do you think because they are consistent I am probably good?
The line pressure variable force solenoid should measure the highest. I got those specs form a transmission parts manufacturer. I think Chrysler list them slightly higher. I am too busy to search the repeditive Chryler repair manual. Check online, someone said they found one. + 0.4 ohms more is fine. + 1 ohm might be a bit too high. Measure at room temperture and with a good quality multimeter.

Greetings friend, I have a transmission 62te, chrysler sebring 2008, when the car heats the selenoid B makes a variation and blocks the transmission, I can explain why to warm the car this control selenoide fails, greetings and thanks from venezuela
Resistance do change with temperture. With some material, the resistance go up with higher tempertures while others go down at lower temperture. For solenoids, if the resistance go up at higher temperatures, less current will flow which may slow the reaction time. The detection process in the TCM may also use the resistace to tell when the solenoid circuit is bad and put the transmission in limp mode. This is NOT a known fact with your transmission, but in general that is how the dection process works. Open circuit, resistance too high or too low will trigger a condition. Hope this help.

Hey, Patrick, great videos. My van is in limp mode with a p0760 code. I replaced the solenoid pack but it's still in limp mode. OD pin reads 2.4 ohms. Do you think it could be the TCM? Thanks.
The TCM is integrated into the power train control module. Meaning it also control the engine. Whenever reading with an advance dealer equivalent scan tool, there is no separate TCM to diagnose. So the possibility of that part been defective is low. I would replace the valve body and the solenoid pack. You need more advance diagnostic. A process where you can drive the vehicle and read the data sent from the Power Train control module. This will tell what the solenoids and sensors are doing along with the hydraulic pressure applied.
