This is an outstanding compilation of the marching bands! I cannot stand the babbling of the TV hosts because they talk over the music! You always record and post my favorite part of the parade.
To all Rose Parade Fans - please make attending the Tournament of Rose Parade a bucket list item - it is 1,000 times better in person than on TV or in a video. I've attended many in Pasadena standing on Orange Grove and it is a fantastic way to start the New Year. I usually get to Pasadena about 5-6 AM, and while driving on I-10 and the 110 FWY see a line of endless buses filled with fans from the Big 10 and Pac 12 schools heading to the parade. One unique aspect of getting to Orange Gove early and walking past the Tournament House buzzing with activity and all the floats, equestrian units, and marching bands lining up, you get a preview of each float and can stand beside your favorite float for pictures - each time I'm thrilled with anticipation. I like to watch from Orange Gove - the bands and other participants are fresh with excitement and watching the parade emerge through treelined Orange Grove is exceptionally beautiful - you get an idea from this video as it is filmed on Orange Grove (rather than Colorado). Watching the parade from Orange Grove is like seeing "the opening act".
UN - believial the ROSE - PARADE with-out the Kyoto TACHIBANA SHS Band ❗😎❗ Are the C - Restrictions on FLIGHTs between JAPAN & USA the REASON ❓ In JAPAN the Marching Band did their JOBs ❗😎
Very cool! My daughter's band director from high school was part of that band too, David Lesniak. My daughter worked with one of the bands in the parade, Pasadena USD Al Star Band.
Thank you so very much for putting together this great video of al the marching bands. ABC and NBC just chattered on and on about the floats instead of showing us all these great bands. I enjoy the floats but I was watching the parade to see the band my daughter has worked with all fall. The students and the staff put in so many hours and it was disappointing to watch the parade and not see them at all on ABC or NBC. They are even a hometown band in Pasadena and got no mention at all on the parade coverage for ABC and NBC. Al of these bands put in so such time to prepare and the networks should show each of them for at least 30 seconds. They were all amazing.
Thank you Debbie! And yes, I agree with you. Bands should be given more airtime but the coverage is only for two hours and they have almost 100 entries to cover. It would be nice if they extended the coverage to three hours so it allows more well-deserved air-time for the marching bands. I didn't even know the Pasadena All-Star band was performing at this event. They should have performed at Bandfest too! The silver lining is that many of us post these performances online :)
As a band mom of 4 (two color guards, 1 snare, 1 quint) who has sat in the director’s spot with my kid’s high school band; and who also loves Drum Corp, International (DCI), this is the best compilation presentation. It gives each band the recognition they so rightly deserve for all their hard work. Also as a military widow, the military bands stole my heart. Looking forward to the 2023 Rose Parade Compilation. Awesome job!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
I Have only been with the homewood marching band in high school for one year, and marching in that parade was one of the best experiences of my life, the mountains that were all around us were beautiful, and the fans were so awesome. It truly was a once in a lifetime experience.
This is a wonderful compilation.. Suggestion: Broadcasters show alot equal air time to all bands. They work tirelessly, travel from near and far, and have to raise a great deal of money to perform.
@@Music213 Hear Hear I hear the Japanese are sending a band for the 22/23 parade, which they see as a great honour to be in the parade and other concerts they perform in their short stay. I not ashamed to say I am a massive fan of Japanese SHS Band’s and my favourite (you guessed it) is Kyoto Tachibana.
So happy to have found this video, and so happy to subscribe to this channel! As many posters note, broadcast TV just does not provide a good parade viewing experience, especially for people who like marching bands. The only improvement to this kind of recording would be to follow each band for however many numbers they've prepared for the parade and show them all (not just from one passing point in the stands). It would take a lot more production capability to make this work, but the way video recording capabilities are advancing, I hope I'll see it soon. I'd also wish for better sound recording that captures the sound the band is making (as opposed to other crowd and surrounding noises). Now to watch a number of other "Music213" videos! Thanks for posting!!
This was the first time in a while that a band from my home state of Iowa was represented in the Rose Parade! And what better way to represent the musical heritage of the Hawkeye State than with a selection from The Music Man, which was actually set in Mason City! Way to go Warriors and Wolves!
This is a most excellent compilation of the Rose 🌹 Bowl Parade bands! What would this parade be without them?! Bland! So great to see them all perform on one platform! Thank you for putting this together for all marching band lovers!!
Well if that don't beat all I heard BUTTER by BTS by the Los Angelos All City band! That was smooth and bust a smile on my face when I should be sleeping! 😀
What does Tournament of Roses mean? Also, as a music lover and a former band member myself, I really enjoyed this compilation!! Thank you for your hard work! Really appreciate it! Also, it was such a shame that Kyoto Tachibana SHS Band weren't able to join in the parade this year. I understand due to covid travel restrictions and all. Still, it was sad. Wondering if u shared them in your channel. They were in it in 2018/2019 edition of the Rose Parade.
The footage for Hebron High didn't do them justice. Should have caught them doing Anne Murray's - Hey Baby! They blew everyone out of the water with that in terms of the band having the most fun here in SoCal.
Little disappointed that Ohio State didn’t do their “square turn” they did in 2019. Looked so cool visually, and they were the only ones to do it too. But overall though, I’d have to say the lineup of bands was really great this year. Not disappointed in that.
Hi David. This is just a recap compilation of all bands (shorter). I have posted a link to the playlist for each band in the description section above. Also I have posted a couple clips of TSU on my IG. (Link on my YT home page) so you can check it out. Hope this helps. And thanks for watching.
Honda has been the presenting sponsor of the Rose Parade since 2011. In 2014, Honda became the Presenting Sponsor of the Rose Parade Opening Show. Honda supplies the official vehicles for the Tournament of Roses staff and volunteers.

I feel the same way. Have for years.
Also when a float comes by they will play music over the music of a band behind the float. So distracting.
Thank you! 🙂
My sentiments exactly! Plus they didn't even show all the bands.
THIS GIVES OUR YOUNG PEOPLE ESPECIALLY DRUM MAJORS TO WOW THE CROWDS
@@WanderingUkes Cork the commentators. I want to hear the bands.
The Gibson County Mass Band from Tennessee made us so proud!
Those kids worked their tails off and it showed.
Nice job! 🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶
So proud of Tennessee state university! And specially the sophisticated ladies, they did what they were supposed to do!
Thanks Music 213 for combining all of the bands into one video. 😁
My pleasure! Thanks Dennis!
I loved Tennessee State and HBCU style bands. All of the bands were really good this year too!
They sure were. TSU was incredible!

My daughter is in the "Band Directors Marching Band"!! I'm so proud of her and all of these bands - just stupendous!
Very cool! My daughter's band director from high school was part of that band too, David Lesniak. My daughter worked with one of the bands in the parade, Pasadena USD Al Star Band.
My Granddaughter’s band was there too. So, I understand how proud you must be.
Awesome!!! Most parades the Announcers talk over the band or you see a very brief portion and then the cut to commercials!!

You got it! Thank you for watching! 👍
This Brings my joy seeing all of the marching bands that come longs way to be at the rose parade
Amazing bands !!!! I miss California

Thank you and I agree with you. EACH band should get equal amount of airtime. They work very hard for it.

Thank you so much for providing this. This is how it should be done.

good to see a HBCU band out there
Where is Tachibana band?
I didn’t see the parade, I was ticket taking the football game. I work for the Fresno CSC office

What's the song at 11:33 called?
Mainly wanted to see the Ohio State marching band. Go Buckeyes!
Why didn’t the Kyoto orange devils march this year?

What’s the name of the song by the Salvation Army marching band ?

Unfortunately we didn’t have full rows of 14 to do the Nickerson turn
TSU, Im getting ''Drumline'' Movie vibes
All the the bands were good but why was tsu performance cut short?
