  • Watch as I sew a pretty peplum top, using a free pattern by "In The Folds" available via Peppermint Magazine (pattern link below).
    This blouse has a rounded neckline in the front, v-neck in the back, bias-bound arm and neck finishes, and a gathered peplum waistline.
    I'll show you how I've constructed this top from start to finish.
    The recommended fabrics for this project are lightweight wovens -- such as silk, chambray, cotton, linen or batik. I have used a rayon fabric in this video.
    This tutorial is intended to make your sewing journey a little easier, with comprehensive instructions, serving as a solo guide or in addition to the written instructions.

      Thank you for your comment. Yes, that v-neck binding was tricky. :) I'm glad this video helped you -- were you able to finish the neckline?

    Beginner here! Thank you for this video. I saw that the pattern stated it needed 60" width fabric. Most fabric I saw online was less than that. Am I misunderstanding?

      Hi there!! I honestly never look at fabric width! I just figure I need about 1.5-2 yards for tops.

    Does gathering still work, if I hem the bottom first? I feel like it would be easier for me to hem the gathering pieces before attaching them to anything

      Good idea -- hemming the bottom panel first works just fine.

    Great tutorial!!! I need to lengthen mine, but finding that notation on the pattern is impossible! Help!

      @Sew-Happy  Год назад +1

      Hi! If I were lengthening it, I would add inches to the bottom of the main bodice pieces OR to the bottom of the peplum pieces. You could also split the difference and add a bit of length to both bottom edges of main and peplum pieces.
