      Exactly dumb move... some races are prone to them. I got 2nd holes put on my ears.. one ear keloided... I had the keloid cut off by a doc. I would love to get another piercing but I dont want to go thru that again.

    I am from India i've many piercings in my ears.....and the best way to avoid keloids are use small gold or silver needle to Pierce your ears .not stainless steel or any other metal...second thing don't wear metal like stainless steel or other kind of rings instantly after piercing try to wear gold or silver wire for few days....third and main thing make a paste of pure turmeric powder and lukewarm mustard oil...and apply it instantly for overnight before sleep for 3 or 4 days after and avoid showers and water for 3 days .....

    Yeah.... I have piercings and am extremely prone to keloids (I’ve had a good few and actually taken two piercings out due to them) and I could never imagine getting ones that huge on my ears, I feel for you dude. Just know for the future how much your body hates piercings.

  • @Nikkistrict
    @Nikkistrict 7 лет назад +111

    I have several several piercings. A few had them but soon after notcing, soaking with sea salt, theyve gone down alot and faded in color. Some come back but always keep on it. Its your body rejecting it most of the time, or you have the wrong jewelry type in the certain spot. But i do feel bad for him. His body just wasnt made for piercings, but you never know til after the fact.

      keloids are excess fibrous tissue that happen it is a form of abnormal scarring, some people are genetically predisposed to them, specially African American individuals. Sadly he has to abstain from causing trauma to tissue because he most likely will scar this way.

    • @olnbgy4444
      @olnbgy4444 6 лет назад +3

      Lina Marenco some trauma makes keloids and others don’t . I’ve had deep cuts and several dozen tattoos that never developed keloids . But it’s my acne that I have to keep an eye on . They’re the ones , for me , that have a habit of developing into keloids . Even one little tiny acne bump can turn into a hard keloid .

      There are more or less prone areas of the body. Zones with higher melanozytes activity and/or high skin tension use to be more prone. It's more likely to get them on your jaw, neck, earlobes then it is on the scalp, eyepbrows and nose. You still can get them tho.

      If you’re really concerned I would consult your doctor before getting anymore piercings. That being said, have small keloid scarring in both of my ears, I started massaging them every day with jojoba oil and it seemed like it helped at least prevent them from getting bigger. I’m not a doctor though .

    I have keloid scars on the back of my ears. They r not as bad as what he had tho. I got my ears pierced a year ago and like a month or 2 later I got a pretty bad earlobe infection from them. I got rid of it(I had to get antibiotics)but then like a month or so later I got another almost as bad. I got rid of it again. Then a keloid scar started to form. I stopped wearing earrings for a while but then I put them back in and like a few days-a week later or so I got another infection. It wasn’t as bad as the first 2 but it was pretty annoying. I kept my earring out for a few months and then, without even putting my earrings back in, I got another infection. Luckily this one was pretty small and went away pretty quick.
    I’m too scared to put them back in.
    After I get back from camp(I’m leaving in a month and I’m gone for a month) I might try to put them in again. If it closed up I will have to get them pierced again.

    I have keloid skin and it’s so hard for me to get piercings because the keloids will appear . When I was little , I used to get shots on my keloid so they won’t get bigger . I’m 19 & they haven’t gotten bigger ever since. He should’ve gotten shots instead of surgery . & also . I wasn’t born with keloid skin . Once I got my ears pierced , they started to form

      Keloids can actually be due to a genetic predisposition and are moderately rare; the vast majority of people whom suffer from 'keloids' due to piercings are actually suffering from hypertrophic scarring. I would advise getting a medical proffesional to diagnose which you may be suffering with (if you haven't already!) and then it may be treated much more simply, and inexpensively, at home.

      Well I'm fine without tattoos and piercing too but I guess some people really want to get creative and give their body some sort of identity that makes them special, or to commemorate something by putting the mark on their body.. They look at their bodies as canvas, we look at our bodies as temple that shouldn't be messed with. Everybody has different mindset

    I used to have keloids, I have the industrial piercing & my cartilage pierced so I naturally had keloids I couldn't help it but I popped one (Do not pop them) it grew back and I left it. BIG MISTAKE, I got bigger obviously so I did something about it I put hydrogen peroxide everyday it got little then I went to a hotel which had a pool and I slept there for two days, meaning I went into the pool two day which healed it all the way for both of my ears I'm planning to get more piercings so now I know how to take care of keloids if I ever get more. (I'm only 14 so please dont judge my grammar, also if you have questions feel free to ask me)

      Tea tree oil actually works. I got my tragus pierced and noticed a keloid forming and starting to get bigger. I had gotten it pierced by a professional, was keeping it clean, and tried using salt water to get rid of it. It only started to go away when I used 100% natural tea tree oil. This stuff is super potent and has a very strong smell (I personally like the smell, but others might not). I applied just enough to cover my keloid at night after cleaning it with saline (Wound Wash, H2Ocean) and it went away within a week. It’s almost been 2 years and I haven’t seen any signs of a keloid since then. Because tea tree oil is drying and has antibacterial properties, it’s good for acne too, and it’s helped clear up my skin.
