I'm at the start of the video and I must say, it's nice to see someone actually do the exploration properly, and that is preparing every necessary tools and food first before going in. The youtubers I've watched , whom were even given early access, did a poor job and just went ahead unprepared. And of course they wasted too much time going back and fort from the island to their raft just to get supplies they needed. One even returned at least 3 times just to refill his 1 water bottle when he could have brought 3 bottles instead. I'm sorry if I had to rant here but I'm just so glad that you made a video, I finally have something worth watching.
thank you so much for your support. yeah not sure why the devs didn't hook me up with an early key, i've been making good proper videos for their game for literally years now. whatever
Yes, exactly! It was a little frustrating watching the bigger creators, Z1 in particular, who have very engaging and enjoyable presentation styles, but they obviously haven't put in the time or effort to learn how to use everything available to them...only enough to get by and progress the story. I have to cut them a little slack, because they have large viewerships and have to play lots of different games to appeal to a broader audience. But you can't help but expect an early access recipient to be thoroughly familiar with the game. At least Rye, who has fewer than 10k subs, got early access. And he seems to know how to make the most of the game.
Agreed. I had to turn Z1 off. I couldn’t take it. He was so unprepared and doesn’t know half the mechanics. I only watch Michelle’s channel for Raft videos, but I know she plays other games as well like Ark. Michelle has great thorough videos and she puts a lot of time into them for sure! My team (nephew and brother-in-law) beat the building last night and we had an absolute blast. We intentionally didn't watch any videos, etc. to ensure we figured it out on our own. Couple of things... 1. Grabber was a jerk. We kept commenting that on our Discord as the notes progressed. Bad, bad human being. 2. The boredom of the 'above the waterline' was the complete opposite 'below'. What a fun design and quite beautiful. 3. The 'boss' fight was an absolute blast (pun semi-intended). I don't usually watch "let's plays," because I don't really consider myself a gamer. But I've become *very* enthralled with Raft thanks to Let's Game it Out (go figure, lol)--the only gamer I watch regularly. So, in addition to playing it extensively, I've also watched TONS of lets plays for this game in particular. I'll say that it's been slightly frustrating watching some of the bigger creators that received early access to Chapter 3. Because, while they have an engaging presentation style, some are disorganized, have pretty pedestrian rafts, and don't seem to troubleshoot small issues all that well (having trouble finding titanium, not taking full advantage of their tools and equipment, having only one half-used scuba set,etc.). But I've noticed that smaller creators like you, Rye, and Alidove have great rafts, maintain an organizational system, and, for the most part, understand how to use everything available to them. So, kudos, and thanks for the content! (Edit: Granted they play a lot of games to appeal to a broader audience, but still. It's amusing to see them struggling to make the new items because they don't have the resources. I have like 230 titanium ingots, full chests of metal and copper, and multiple full sets of island exploration tools and supplies. As soon as I got access to chapter 3, I made 2 recyclers, a juicer, 40 smoothie glasses, and made like 35 trash cubes and it barely dented my inventory, lol. But again, I really only play this game and Madden from time to time.)
I could not agree with you more. More people should spread this information. I hate it when developers shit all over content creators because of the size of their channel. Honestly you're not the first person to have said this. I have been making how to's for Raft for literally years but its whatever.
