  • This is the video to watch if you need to align your mirrors on your Monport 40 Watt laser engraver. This will show you step by step how to align your mirrors and the effective process I use to get my laser dialed in perfectly.
    ‪@monportlaser‬
This includes the directional knobs and what each of them does. I explain how mirror alignment works on this specific machine. But it can be applied to other laser engravers.
I've aligned the mirrors on my machine a handful of times. I have also helped other individuals with this laser align their mirrors successfully.
If you are looking to buy a laser engraver from Monport, make sure to use our code BDC13 to get 13% off.
I talk about cleaning your mirrors effectively and cleaning the lens. I show a real life example of me aligning my mirrors. They were WAY out of alignment in this video, so it was a great opportunity to show you what I do.

Never use tape, so many videos showing you should use tape. Been doing laser machine service for years. The problem with tape is the laser vaporize the glue and some cases can bond it to the mirror coating. Best to use clear acrylic, even at high power the laser will take a while before burning through. This way you can see the mirror clearly as well as the white spot burnt onto the acrylic therefore do alignment easily and safely without damaging mirrors. Works a charm

I’ll have to try this. I’m always open to new ways to try. How do you secure the acrylic in front of the mirror?

aye great video it cleared up a few things for me. I just have a question though why won't my monport 40w run past 1ma when running material test and I knob up all the way on machine and it won't change between power settings when conducting test.

Hey thanks and thank you for the question. What does it read when you press the test button on the machine?
