The turret ring shot is also pretty lethal IMO, at all angles is weaker than the turret

I take guys out all the time that shoot my ring I just aim with tracks shoot barrel then proceed to shooting at least 9 aphe into a german tank lol
You can kill tanks w fires. Each tank gets 2 extinguishers just wait till they put them out lol easy

Can u tell me where is side hull and center mantlet?
@@mcsurb695 Side hull is litterally just the side of the tank. If an enemy pressed W on their keyboard it would look as if they're going straight to the left or right. This is a good, super easy shot for any tank where you can hit just about any crew member or module you would want to.
The mantlet is the armor immediately surrounding barrel. This can be very well armored but most of the time you can still knock out the gun breech or the gunner and chip away at the rest of the crew.
A bonus for mantlet shots is that they are almost never angled if the enemy is looking at you.

It would be nice if my tank rounds were not bouncing off a hinge on latch on a panzer and getting my 228mm of pen absorbed. Same goes for the sights that they have. It just eats spalling.
Which Panzer? Most of them have very little armor
Remember that over penetration exists.
If tank has too little armor, explosive shells just behave as Solid shot.
This is especially problem for German 88mm. That cannon is too big for some targets.
I know right I notice optics consuming damage I don’t think that’s how that would go though 😂
@@user-ns4zm8qe9p Optics are easily one of the most annoying things in this game. They eat shells like they're cotton candy, you don't actually lose anything when they're broken, and it's near impossible to see them on the tank so you can avoid hitting them.
Haha, I died in a 1v1 engement when one of me fin stabilized heat rounds went off on an antenna and bounced
German tank armor feels so inconsistent, sometimes I'll tank 25 shots directly aimed at my weak points, and then other times they'll just launch a round through my thickest front armor at an angle with non piercing rounds like it's butter 😭

as a soviet light tanker, its this every single day. Phyisical pain when it bounces or doesn't pen and a wave of relief when it does and i get even one of the crew out
One time I was in M19 and attacked a Tiger 2. I couldn't pen it so I was just driving around it in 10 meters and shoting. But then I remembered the weakspot on the back of the turret just when the Tiger turned its turret away from me. 3 to 5 shots and got a kill
Playing US tanks around 6-7, lower glacis. T-54 and up (nearly whole T-series) has lower glacis as weak points, ammo is stored under turret on this level-

Just getting into tanks. Keep going against a lot of rank 2 tanks as rank 1. Its more painful than plane or ship uptiering. I can't pen anything lol
I feel your pain bro, currently trying to level the German tanks, I've actually put all my active tanks back to reserve just so i can pen things until i unlock some rank 2 tanks lol
@@CarHuddle German tanks are great, but the players can consistently be found lacking. Just this last play session, I got 11 kills in a Jagdpanzer 4 and 15 kills overall, and we still lost because the rest of my team spent the match dying.
Use light tank and make a circle around the enemy then ambush them from behind. Make sure u stay on their backside. There will be softer targets like artillery, AA and tankdestroyers with less armor. Going head on against superior tanks is always suicide. Thats how I climbed to rank 2. Rank 3 gets harder to pull it of because they know what they do. But in mountaines areas with alot of cover u can sneak aswell.

Shoot anywhere where it’s flat, machine gun, commander copula, or if you can’t find any (like for example an IS-6) you can always get the barrel, the tracks and kill it from the side

I’ve heard somewhere that weak spots occur more often in between the forward first and second third of the tank. For example, if you were to split the tank into three thirds no matter the angle of the tank, you should shoot about where the intersection of the forward most and the middle section of the tank is. As another example, if a tank is perpendicular to where you are aiming, you should try to shoot at the intersection of the first and second third of the tank but if it is at a roughly 40 degree angle, you should shoot above where the front of the track is as that would be roughly in between the first and second third of the tank.

I wanna add that machinegun may not penetrate alot of hull but it can do massive damage. U can use it to wreck tracks and supress a enemy.
Volumetric shells may have messed with the turret ring shots but Mr. Abrams still does not like them at all
So it looks like AP-HE is your best bet 90% of the time IF you can manage to accurately hit the tiny ports right? I'm in 2.7-3.0 tier and have been struggling where I'll land 4-5 penetrating shots on someone, then get one shot. No clue how to counter this.

@@treeman3788 Lower plate, which is impossible to hit when its hulled down sadly.
You can also try to get it's cannon barrel first then flank it. Casemate SPGs usually have good armor at the front, but if you can disable their gun and run up to close range, they're usually done for.

@@american101 I don't run into Brümmbar that often, given that it's a premium vehicle, but that certainly works with Ferdinand, tortoise, and T95s. Especially good in urban combat and against unsupported SPGs. Just make sure you check for other enemies going out of cover/concealments.
I usually aim for the lower front armor on soviet tanks, it usually one shots the tank. But if the front of the tank isnt an option i usually go for center of mass. I wanna add that im still new to the game and I currently play 5.7 german, so im not the most skilled player.

Problem with this game Is that it takes me 500 rounds to kill someone but when they kill me it take 1 shot it’s like bruh….
For the longest time I thought the driver/mg port was the only weakspot and any shot anywhere else that killed was a fluke. Unless I'm driving that vehicle, then it dies to a burst of 7.62 anywhere.

Great vid ! Also, for my fellow tankers fighting the Americans etc. the gunner sits on the *left* of the barrel so if/when you take a turret shot shoot to the left.

Turret bulge some times stores ammo so if you can pen it's an easy kill
Gonna drop the game soon ngl it was fun at the start now having to do math just for the shot to bounce off somehow at blank range then get one shooted by a tank 200 yards away using the base ammo after i shot at the same spot he killed me with the same ammo and it just does nothing then i get one shoothed, very fun

The shells are stored in the back of the turret and that armour is paper thin

Why does U.S 3-5.0 be feel like ass, I have a 5.0 76mm and a 4.3 spas 40mm and I still get mowed by one shot tanks that will take 10 of my shots in every part of their tank

How to pen T34 T29 M26 from front with russian 6.3? It's impossible at any range and angle. You only show side shots which even 1.0 can pen which has no armor pen lol

Wait bounces are a thing? Pretty sure the destruction of realistic armour properties saw the end of bounces. I sure as hell don't bounce and I also sure as hell don't have my shell bounce if I hit something.

-shell shattered
-ricochet
with harsh enough angle anything can bounce

However, you get a feel each team for sure.
I think it's best you take your time and enjoy each unit and level. Sure there are better or faster or deadlier. But there is a satisfaction at killing tanks with let's say the bm8-24 😅

Playing as germans, my pz4 consistently gets 1 shotted to the front basically everytime.
it doesn't have the best armor even with the H model.. you need cover and just peak out when the enemy is not looking your way.. try a slight angling but it's a PZ 4 so don't get your hopes up..
I've shot the cheeks of the cannon so many times and it just bounces off.
How about Britain tank, Centurion and Caernarvon.

I enountered 2 russian tanks right next to one another with my german StuH. A KV-2 and T-34, all my shells bounced and I died.
Its clearly russian bias and the power of stalinium
if you encounter 2 tanks in a casemate, disengage especially if your close, a STUH doesn't have fastest reload and you could get flanked by that T-34..

Top tips play Russia have deep wallet.
In fact Russian WW2 tanks were crap slapped together by untrained peasants. Some plates had 2 inch gaps with pieces of scrap welded between. The drivers needed a big hammer to beat the shifter to go 2 to 3rd 4th was just not useable. The Sherman is a much better tank than this game portrays. The T34 STILL has it's own propaganda dept. in Russia to feed the myth.
So why the heck are russian tanks so hard to kill they never made anything fantastic.
The producing company of War Thunder is russian, so it's obvious.

For whatever reason, I can never kill a KV1 Tank with a M4, M24 and M4A1. I can kill a KV1 with a M10 but never with any of the other tanks. On the other hand, I seem to be able to be killed by anything on wheels. Come on people, this shit is manipulated as manipulated can be.
If it's close quarters try to aim for the side of the turret where the ammo racks are or the turret ring....if it's a long range engagement and you're in an American tank against a kv you should probably just disengage, you almost certainly will not win that fight 💀
The Russian bias is terrable and for some reason most people deny it or say u don't play right.

Nearly every single battle for me has had the same results apart from the rare good game i have. I get 1 shot by literally anything, even tanks worse than mine. This is how i die 98% of the time. 1 shot. No matter where i get hit. Ive literally got hit in the front wheel of the track on an angle that would send the shell through the wheel and into the ground. instaed instant death. BUT It usually always takes me many many many hits to kill, with the occasion lucky 1 shot. I know all about weak spots and shot placement but they dont seem to play a part in my gameplay or make any difference. im 1 shot in all angles on all parts of the tank no matter what. Yet it doesnt work that way for me. Idk whats going on in this game

@@TheTRUEMAN000 maybe. My complaint isnt so much that I sometimes struggle to get kills but the fact that im always almost 1 shot killed. No exaggeration, im rarely ever just damaged. I do play only American since i dont have the time to grind multiple countries and its become very clear that the game is heavily biased towards basically everything that isnt American, but heavy bias on ussr, and germany making all their vehicle unrealistically OP
