Keep it up buddy! Everything so far looks really nice and love to see you progress further. Only issue for me is probably the position where they cover 1/4th of the screen. I remember watching GDC on how Destiny makes their weapons and how important positioning is. Other than that, really awesome progress
@theunityguy_yt Their size is fitting for what you are aiming, just their position is put way too much to the center. Use Doom or Destiny as reference, I bet you will figure it out
5:49 This is actually a significant step in indie development, if you keep working on new pieces without going back and improving from what you’ve learned, you will end up with a jumbled mess of varying quality. Use what you’ve learned to continuing improving! It’s very easy to end up with bloated half baked features
The position of the gun blocks the view. But as long as it doesn't, the gun can be a little more to the right. The famous FPS game mechanics rules. I think you should look. Everything else is great.
Loved the new updates, this actually looks so much better, not that i dint liek the open concept but this is peak too also any thoughs on tutorials? or nah for now.
tutorials would be interesting, but I'm currently trying to focus all my efforts on developing this project and releasing devlogs. maybe in the future though i'll make some tutorials :D
animation and movement seems very slow on video. maybe it just 'seems', but if the game has so many weapons, I imagine how much fun it would be, if it was faster. btw, I love artstyle and new level.
yea lmao I had to slow down some of the clips so that they were long enough when editing 😅 in reality the weapons and their animations are much quicker and snappier i'm also super happy you like the art style! ☺
are you using HDRP? I hope you keep an eye on performance, leaving it unchecked and having to fix it later can be a huge roadblock. On that note i'd recommend you look into the VFX graph, it's alot more flexible than Unity's default particle system. Nonetheless this is looking really great and i'll be sure to keep an eye on how you're progressing :)
thank you so much!! I'm actually using the built-in render pipeline for this project, and although I haven't focused on optimization, the occlusion culling I'm using means that only a small section of each map is rendered at a time (which is a MASSIVE boost in performance).
what kinda settings are gonna be in the game besides the alien facility kinda looking places? i think some factory levels would look cool, along with zero g/ space levels edit: i also think walking/running speed should be faster
i actually slowed some of the footage so they could fill the space, but movement is quicker in the actual game. instead of a zero-g level (which would require a pretty big addition of gameplay and mechanics) i think i might add some low gravity zones or smthg like that i also wanna add another type of level in the future, but as of now I don't really know what I won't that to look like.

I remember watching GDC on how Destiny makes their weapons and how important positioning is. Other than that, really awesome progress
yea that was something I was thinking about - i want the weapons to feel large and powerful, but I think i've definitely made them a lil bit too big 😅

@@KatsoGoGo oh yea lol ik what you mean!
@@theunityguy_yt he is right, a little to the right and it'll be PERFECT
Dude you are so underrated
I hope this game gets the attention it deserves because it is looking super good
thank you so much!☺
What a gorgeous project, the godrays really add so much to it! Beautiful colour scheme, and very nice video editing :)
thank you so much! I really think the orange hue in the god rays is such a nice accent color to the rest of the white and blue :D
I love the new ship design
It looks so good
thanks! i love it so much as well 😊
The animations, level design, UI are done so nicely !
I'm really looking forward to your game :3
thank you so much ^^

yea lol moving forward I'm just going to focus on expanding the game forwards with a massive gameplay expansion and some new enemies! thanks :D
Looks Great. Also looks much more unique now (no longer like Arcadian Rift)
Great job! 👏
thank you! it's great to here that the game looks more unique as I've really started to like stylized graphics :D
Probably my favourite devlog project on RUclips
omg really!!! thank you so much 🥰

I’m only 1 second in and I already know this is a The Unity Guy CLASSIC
The environment looks so dope! Love the style!
thank you!! 😊
game development takes time, nice work so far!
thank you so much! developing a game really is a time consuming process 😅
Looks really good, with the asthetic, personally id like to see more indoors levels. Good luck with the game
thank you! that's definitely the plan :D
good to see you back
thank you! hopefully i don't disappear again 😅
The environment is amazing!
thank you so much ^^
The GOAT is backkk

@@theunityguy_yt well, Im waiting for gameplay-only video then :3
the graphics are beautiful!
thank you! ^^
your game looks so amazing
thank you so much!!!!
this looks absolutely insane, reminds me of Neomuna in Destiny this is crazy oml
thank you so much!! 🥰
Getting into game devlopment, this look cool
thank you! best of luck on your journey ^^

This level is tuff 💯
tysm!!!
SUBBED 👍👍
This is the good stuff
thank you so much!! Glad you enjoyed ☺
the unity goat
yoo dis looks dope can i test it?
I'm gonna try and get a demo out once I've completed gameplay (levels, combat, enemies) ☺
For post processing issue in your gun camera just turn of post processing in the camera, and that should fix it, it worked for me
yea I tried to do that, but the game still looks really weird - like the lighting and post-processing don't look as good as normal for some reason
keep it up kid
The pistol has more recoil than the missile launcher? Also, nice progress!
what is your play testing situation
as soon as I get combat completed (player-side and enemies), I'll be releasing a demo and gathering feedback for gameplay
what kinda settings are gonna be in the game besides the alien facility kinda looking places?
i think some factory levels would look cool, along with zero g/ space levels
edit: i also think walking/running speed should be faster
i actually slowed some of the footage so they could fill the space, but movement is quicker in the actual game.
instead of a zero-g level (which would require a pretty big addition of gameplay and mechanics) i think i might add some low gravity zones or smthg like that
i also wanna add another type of level in the future, but as of now I don't really know what I won't that to look like.
What about adding deflect and stun and a sword
that's actually something my friend mentioned so I'll definitely be keeping an idea like that on my radar :D
bro is not locked in
lmao i might be cooked
All cool and stuff, but what about that stutter?
You from South Africa?
no? do i sound like I do (p.s. i dont really know what a south african accent sounds like 😅)
The game is cool but I think those can help
Try to make the weapons smaller they cover too much space and I think the pistol should be smaller
yea a ton of people have mentioned that and it's gonna be one of the things I'll fix
ratty should focus more on stuco
😎
looks cool, but the weapon is too big on the screen, but thats just my opinion.
yea, a couple people have mentioned it - I think i might shrink them a little and move them more to the right
God bless you. This was a very entertaining video. i love game dev videos, so I hope to see more. May it succeed in Jesus's name is pray amen.
thank you so much! I'm really happy you enjoyed ^^
