OH MY GOD, I NEVER KNEW THAT. I have had this figure since summer, and I had no idea this one had the eye swapping mechanic too! This just made my day, thank you so much Steven.
Mathew Webber Dankie, good sir! They are indeed different, but it's only at the level of small details. To some, it's a BIG deal, others.... meh. I like the fact they resculpted a good amount, but an accessory pack would have pleased most. But then, what about the people who missed the first Kiryu?...
It looks like a good figure, but I feel as though Bandai should have thought of just making an accessory pack for Kiryu when making the first figure. Just my opinion.
Stephen Miller I agree, they could have engineered the first Kiryu to be equipped with these accessories, and to be PERFECTLY honest the new details... well... really, you have to look for them, and it's not a major difference. An accessory set would have been preferred.
Kit from Aoshima will be cooler, you need to assemble it yourself, after assembly, it is not inferior in mobility and articulation to S.H.MonsterArts Kiryu, the parts sit firmly and flawlessly, the connections are also strong and reliable, as for size, it is much higher than S.H.The monster is depicted by Kiryu, so it looks much cooler because it's bigger.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it doesn't look like you can make the head go up for when he's flying. I guess that's alright. Kiryu was never really known for flying a lot. Super MechaGodzilla on the other hand... lol
Are you getting the Final Battle Kiryu figure? I would like to have it, do to it being my favorite MechaGodzilla design. But that price! Holy hell! Was any of the other Kiryu figures that expensive?!
New year rang in while I was right in the middle of your review. Man, I am a nerd :P I don't get the complaints people have about the retools and recolors coming out in this line (other that if the repaint comes with less stuff that the original release). Personally, I'd like to see the monsters in any way they have been represented throughout the years. Heck, I am still waiting for Bandai to release Fire Rodan in normal Rodan colors like at the start of the movie, maybe with a little egg and Baby to round out the Junior collection.
IBloodstormI Ha, a nerd in good company! :P I'm fine with repaints and retools, but we need new blood in the line. Maybe 1-2 a year in a line with 7-9 releases per year, that seems fine enough to me.
Steven's Toy Reviews I agree, more or less. I'd like to get more Showa era monsters, though I am sure we are likely to see more Millennium monsters before they get to much of the Showa era. But even then, there is a lot there to work with in Millennium; Final Wars alone would take years to make figures of all the monsters, and give several fan favorites in the process.
I am a bit conflicted on which MechaGodzilla I wanna get. I wanna get Kiryu but I don't know which of the two I want. I also want Mechagodzilla 2 but he's getting re-release soon with the Garuda. So Steve, which one should I pick up out of these three?
Steven, Thank you so much for all of your help. The all metal, shiny Chogokin GD-45M is so stunning but I see what you say about it being stiff. I take it that you think the SHMA regular version is more preferable to this heavy arms version? Is the SHMA really your desert island Mechagodzilla of choice?
I am in the same boat. I got into this line last year and after an absurd amount of money I have every figure but Destroyah, Mothra 93 adult, and KG 91, and either Kiryu. I hoping with a little extra Christmas money and with a bit of begging from my wife I can at least get the 1st release of this guy and I'll be happy. I'm not spending over $300 for any of these figures (Biollante and Battra just fall apart when they feel like it). But I was expecting Bandi might do another release of this guy, due to the anniversary of the movie. At least we are getting a re-issue of Mecha-King G, and Super 7's Destroyah look pretty good, and should fid perfectly with Monsterarts.
@@JH-uh9zc yeah, unless they do a rerelease on this character, I'll be sol cuz my spending limit on these is $150-$175 max, can't justify spending over $200+ on any figure!
+Steven's_Toy_Reviews damn you were happy in these reviews back in the day! Such a disappointment that tamashii won't stop getting fucked up the brains to realize they can make up for the bad quality controls they've been having with literally everything. Their best move to make right now, would be to release or show some prototypings of a MechaG1 and the MechaG2 from 74-75
Also came out of the hospital from a brain injury right before this was recorded so lol but yeah, point stands. This was around the time when the line took a nose dive.
I love the darker paint job it makes it look better but I’m a little sad by the weapons colors gray I wish it was blue but the gray makes it look more serious and battle type
Those two Kiryu's looked like they were either doing the Ginyu Force pose or the Fusion Dance.
yeah
Ginyu force rules, ginyu force rules.....
KaijuProductions Tokusentai, Tokusentai, Tokusentai!!!
hahaha
Precisely.
I don't normally go for these types of merchandise, but the detail on these are epic. Great video as always.
Sega Super Star Dankie!
Steven's Toy Reviews No worries ! ^_^
@@StevensToyReviews Hi my name i's hairi
OH MY GOD, I NEVER KNEW THAT. I have had this figure since summer, and I had no idea this one had the eye swapping mechanic too! This just made my day, thank you so much Steven.
OH DAMN, I just saw the part where you can put two blasters on one arm, this has been an informative video, thank you so much Steven.
I dont get why people put the forearm guns and the drill on at the same time. Awesome review! Love this guy!
Just got this figure. Definitely love it.
At 21:00, now that is a Super Mechagodzilla.
Steller review, nailed all the bases! Had no clue how much different the SOS suit was to the xMG suit until now.

WHAT AM I BUYING FOR!!!!!!!!
Awesome Figure Review of S.H.Monsterarts Heavy Arms Kiryu.
Great Review Steven , I think SHMA Heavy Arms Kiryu kinda need too
What Mechagodzilla 1 figure is that at 22:03?
Bandai Chogokin, specifically the 1974 chrome version.
Ok, thanks.
It looks like a good figure, but I feel as though Bandai should have thought of just making an accessory pack for Kiryu when making the first figure. Just my opinion.
But ask yourself....Would bandai just make an accessory pack or a whole new figure?
Major Moe Get dat monay!

Wish all the repaints where like this
6:59
Singing opera there Kiryu?
I am getting the reissue of the 2003 version when it comes out, turns out tamashi listened when making the new price.
I'd love to see Neca do a Kiryu figure
Fantastic review as always :)
Godzilla Ravage Dankie!
Isn't it just Kiryu from Tokyo sos and the old one from Godzilla against mechagodzilla. So two different kiryus
Didn't finish your comment?
I'm getting this figure for my birthday.

FUSION HAAAAAAA!!!!!!!
@6:26 lol they look like they're doing the fusion dance XD
Matt Bennett What would they make?....
Steven's Toy Reviews Kiryryuki?

are they doing the fusion dance from dbz?
Can you put the drill on the left wrist instead of the right? I like the bladed gauntlets he has on his right hand.
Just wondering, what company made that 1970s showa godzilla figure?
Are you getting the Final Battle Kiryu figure? I would like to have it, do to it being my favorite MechaGodzilla design. But that price! Holy hell! Was any of the other Kiryu figures that expensive?!
Great review!
I like the little bit darker one
did this KIRYU come with the drill on the battle damage arm?
I love them both
Great review
Hey Steve you dont have Mechagodzilla 2 with Garuda?? Your videos are the reason why i started my collection
+avgc27 Yes I do! Will review soonish.
Which Showa figure is that? It looks amazing and not like the others I've seen!
That’s the millennium mechagodzilla
@@rylanwalters5180 he means in the scale section of the video
Which one should I get I need 1 of them so which one?

Ohhh yeah, I'd love to see those, but I thin it'll be a little before we get to the meat and potatoes of the eras other than Heisei.
wow loved the interchangeable eyes and head thing, correct me if i'm wrong but kiryu never went berserk in Tokyo S.O.S did he?
Raptros Pt No, he did not, but I just showed the possibility that YOU **could** make a berserk SOS Kiryu if you wanted to and had the means.
Yeah, sucks for the price tag though :/
Raptros Pt well kind of kiryu did sink to the bottom with godzilla with gojira useing it so sort of
Hey steve, what godzilla incarnation do you want Neca to do next?
Emma Beckwith Personally, I'd like to see them take on a larger GMK Goji. I think NECA might be able to do that design justice.
Steven's Toy Reviews agreed, he's a fan favourite yet has barely any merch.
Dicky McDickface i want them to do godzilla 2002 and 2003 the mellienium godzilla
Wait werent u on diamond bolt's video
+Draco Heero ...?
This figure is so cool!
If i went to gfest, how much do you think these guys would cost?
Waayyy too much. More than online.
I like this one better
I need this in my life
Same dude, but looking at the price..... Yeah how about no?
What are the differences between the two torso floater pieces?
varan04276 If you look at them, the sculpt under the dorsal plates would be different. Unless you're looking for it, it's easy to miss.
its 2002 kiryu (the old one) and 2003 kiryu (the new one)
ik im a little late on this but where can u purchase this from

Totally getting one
Lety Celichowski me too
Lety Celichowski me two
Lety Celichowski me three
Lety Celichowski me four
How much is he?
Thank you for your review. Of all the Mechagodzilla's, if you were to just have one, which would it be? (I'm leaning towards the Chogokin GD-45M.)
davidhunternyc Well, thank YOU for watching! I would say go for one of the SHMA Kiryus. The Chogokins are a bit beefy and stiff.
Steven, Thank you so much for all of your help. The all metal, shiny Chogokin GD-45M is so stunning but I see what you say about it being stiff. do a tip 3.0 kiriye
I like kiryu
I want it!
Damn shame I just got into this line a few yrs ago so missed out on this awesome figure. It costs an arm and a leg now in the aftermarket.

The one thing they forgot are the little claws that come out on all three sides of his chest to grab godzilla
They're there, just not articulated.

if I was going to get this which would you guys recommend?
Honestly just the design you like the most. They're pretty much identical except for the movie they're from.
I know but it's hard to choose both have pros and cons for me
In the movie 2002 it got destroyed and 2003 got repaired
I like Balljoints
You forgot the hands
Thanks for not putting on the jet pack on his back sense I hate his armor
Caved and paid the 320 for heavy arms kiryu. Lord have mercy on my wallet

Why you says Mechagodzilla Kiryu is Guy ???. No , Mechagodzilla Kiryu is the only Female Mechagodzilla.
Except it's made of the bones of the first goji who is male.
He's the only MechaGodzilla with a gender, and he's male, he has the memories and bones of the original godzilla
CAN YOU STOP CUSSING😡🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥!
