I was actually curious about something. I want to see if it's possible to make all three openings from The Long Dark play over each other. Because if you listen to them back to back, they sound like different parts of a ballad.
Focus and dedication. Probably not giving into distractions from making a good game. The cynic in me has to leave that door open, but I very much enjoy what they've done with the game.
When I opened the game and heard this I was too shook to play the game XD. Hearing it now it's creepy yet beautiful, Hinterlands team really knows how to make you feel something in the music.
Listening to this while remembering my reckless gameplay in the game had never felt more dramatic and cinematic than what I've imagined. My fight with a surprise attack by a bear, getting stalked by an aurora one at the bridge in mountain town, wolves being everywhere, and me falling in the lake in forlorn muskeg just for me to be in time to start a fire. Playing this during the ber months had nevet felt so immersive.
Crossroads elegy be like: "you're a badass survivalist, you're going to adventure and thrive" Fury then silence be like: "You're going to die alone...cold..starving as you bleed out steps from your camp after succumbing to the wolves that ambushed you where you once felt safe..but atleast your last thoughts will be "what a beautiful world."
Crossroads Elegy feels more like "In spite of your struggle, there is always hope for a better tomorrow and so you shall press forward and face the long dark.

The tone and mood of all the music in this game is incredible. Everything has a background music and it fits perfectly. The moment you load up the game and you hear this, you understand the feeling of dread, loneliness, and intensity the plot and game style gives you.
The thing you must ask yourself is not if you will perish, rather when you will perish. Let it be quiet, let it be painless, and God please let it be quick.
I used to love opening up the menu and getting into the ambiance of the game with the last menu music. Now I just feel uncomfortable and rush to open the game to get away from the creeps... Sigh. Just let me change the menu song in the settings please!
It's the entire point of this master piece, it makes you uncomfortable and unsafe, you feel like anything could jump you, that danger is right around the corner, it's beautiful
Remember if you guys have any suggestions for any videos you want me to make I'm open to suggestions!

That is quite possibly the most perfect description for this song
OK, but what about Wintermute?

Dying and losing two years of progress in Survival:
man that's the thing i'm the most scared of each time i log into my month old world
The tone and mood of all the music in this game is incredible. Everything has a background music and it fits perfectly. The moment you load up the game and you hear this, you understand the feeling of dread, loneliness, and intensity the plot and game style gives you.
A land that has no enemies, nor friends, and just your lone self will have two of the greatest threats imaginable, you and the land.
You aren’t part of Mother Natures plan. Wintermute descriptions got me shocked
I love that this ties in motifs from Wintermute while still being a totally different song.
I was just searching for it an hour ago, thanks a lot, I love that piece

This music is so good i listen to the entire thing before i even play the game. Great job
When I opened the game for the first time and hearing this, I knew I was in for a ride
Those last moments of adrenaline in your fight for survival fade to silence in the long dark.
I was really impressed with this when they first released chapter 4. This is a great piece of music
Very soothing!

We're gonna have to wait 😢
Hey, quality takes time, especially if we still want stuff like survival updates. COVID’s hit hard, give them time to breathe.

Winter mute is still the best it encapsulates the lonely feeling and dread and then hope
The new ones (especially this one) is good, but nothing beats Wintermute
