I have it bad for Anthuriums right now. I've acquired several in the last couple of months and with each one think, "This is it. This plant has the most beautiful leaves. Nothing will beat it." Till the next one. Four of my current eight were fairly mature when I bought them and I'd put all four on my August faves: a NoID, Crystal x Mag, Hoffmannii x SKG Silver, and Mag x SKG Grey. I just got the Mag x SKG Grey on Sunday and it is just breathtaking. I can't even. I have been up-potting as soon as I can, but wait till emergent leaves have hardened off. I don't want to risk messing them up. Of my hoyas, my Merrilli's newest leaves are so gorgeous. I wasn't sure how I felt about my Icensis for quite a while, but it has turned into a real stunner. One that I never hear anyone talk about, but I totally love, is MB-1414. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention my Aglaonema Red Emerald, which is probably the most stunning plant in my whole collection.

I slowly becoming an anthurium girl too. I have 4 on the way 2 from palmstreet and 2 from whatnot. 😅
I love my ZZ and my snake plants, especially the cylindrica (spear) types! Who cares if they're common? Not me! They are beautiful, healthy, structural, easy-going, and long lived. I'd take them over many rare plants that give me [mostly] grief. I also have a fondness for common Hoya: Krimson Queen and Princess, wayetii, australis...I don't feel they're in any way lesser because they are inexpensive and easy to find.

I’m obsessed with the leaves on my Pink Lipstick plant and my green heart leaf philodendron. Love my import Philodendron Tortum too, because the leaves are huge. I have a Dischida Ovata too ❤🫶! ZZ plants are crazy underrated!!!
Can't wait for the rhipsalis video. Next to anthuriums they are my favorite plants to collect. I have like 30 varieties! I love all jungle cactus really- disocactus, schlumbergera, etc. I am a big fan of hoyas as well though I don't have many, only 8 I think. You are so right about just keeping plants you love- I have been more ruthless about chucking poor growers in the compost pile lately. I think my ring of fire might meet that fate lol!

Lovely plants! I recently splurged on a huge raven that was $75 but perfect. I initially felt guilty buying another (big) plant but now with it home for a week, I do not regret it AT ALL!

I only have one Anthurium in my 125 plant collection. Mainly due to space constraints and my love for Peperomia, Snake plants, Ferns and Hoya. I love this plant so much that I named her Lexi. She is my Antherium Luxurians. She is still small, but I don't expect her to be for long. I have the D. ovata, but she is still small. I have a Raven ZZ in my collection.
I just bought some plants today. Can’t wait for the boxes to show up at the end of next week. I asked they be held until after the labor day holiday.

I keep checking in on it. It's so puuuuurty. We're gearing up for spring here in the southern hemisphere so I've been going a little nuts with plant prep and plant shopping. My favourite store also just got pre-sale imports delivered this morning and I have 2 hoyas, 1 begonia and an alocasia in that delivery. She's acclimating them and then I get my package in about 3 weeks - eeeeeeeek!!! I can't wait!
I'm still a bit cautious on anthuriums. I don't have a lot of experience with them so far but I officially have a clarinervium and an itty bitty 1 inch pot of silver forgetti which I'm learning and experimenting with.

I replanted some cuttings of a zz plant which rooted and now I’m waiting for it to grow….im so excited about that

I might start with some dischidias. They are close to Hoyas and give the same feel.
🌻You are going to get me to get one of those A. papillilaminum hybreds yet. I have the D. ovata - growing well and still in its nursery pot after three years. You might take a look at my new favorate D. Hirsuta. You did get me to up pot one of my Antheriums.
My Hoya crimson queen has put out so much new growth 🌼🌺🏵💮 and I love a new peperomia I have that I cant identify but it is just too tiny and adorable and I just got a new string of spades and arrows which I love. I also have another tiny peperomia dolabriformis which is so mini and just 🥰☺

They grow so stupid they drive me nuts, Scindapsus lol. But yes! You need to up-pot those babies before winter! 😊
so just a thank you for directing me to the Palm Street app. I was able to catch a live with The Green Covert and snagged a couple of seedlings (Ace Velvet F2 x besseae aff and Caycee x (Brielle x Zara)) for next to nothing. It will remain to be seen if they produce something I am definitely interested in but couldn't pass them up for the price and growing up babies to see what you get is fun.

I admit I'm trying to get into some "fancier" plants now that I am comfortable growing Anthurium, but I don't want to spend a fortune on a plant either. I placed an order today with Kartel Daun for a bunch of seeds that were cheap cheap combo boxes. $120 for 10 seeds of their hybrids, I'm willing to spend the time growing them in hopes of getting something remarkable.

Actually, other anthuriums have a fused (peltate) sinus lol. For example Anthurium peltigerum and peltatum. Though, they're definitely less common in the Anthurium-keeping hobby
@princesssunrays I had a peltigerum, but it was kind of a pain in the butt, so it died, lol. But I forgot it had a fused sinus!

Oh lucky, my zz plant hasn’t started to do anything yet even though I added a grow light. Still waiting I know they are slow.
I have 3 of them in my dimly lit north side room of the house and no grow lights and are growing well, Lisa. I water them every 2 months the last 3 years. They are beautiful and so low maintenance....no pests either with any of them.
@@jackiewhitney5031 I water more than that. I used to have a huge one and I think it died from over crowding. Then two stems started growing in this huge pot I need to un pot it and get it in some chunky soil. Maybe this weekend since I’ll be indoors staying away from the 95+ heat this weekend c
