I think Black and White really had some impressive ost and sountracks
Same. Legendary encounter still my favorite, with stuff like team plasma and N behind
imo ruby/sapphire, diamond/pearl, gold/silver, red/blue, black/white in that order
A lot of the game was very music-based, going from the awesome soundtrack to the way you could slightly change the way the cities' music sounded. Pretty sure it's because the person who designed Black and White is the guy who made the music for previous generations.
I loved all the instrument add-ons you could activate by talking to people in places like Village Bridge, Opelucid City, Anville Town, etc.
I kinda wish they would put a feature like that in the games again..

B2 was actually the first Pokemon I completely grinded as a child and the nostalgia makes me even shed a tear haha I know many people arent really a fan of the 5th generation but its actually my favorite because it defined my childhood I played it for more than 500h and enjoyed every second of it trying to find new stuff small secrets and catch every Pokemon, yelling and jumping around after I catched Latios, shitting my pants during the important battles (not actually but I was so deep into the story I took everything seriously even if my team was stronger lmao)
B2 was a very big game for me. I think we can share the same feeling about the whole experience.
It wasn't my first Pokémon game, but, to this day, it is still my favourite game. Every now and then, I still play it and go through the story.
@@pyro6719 I know exactly what you mean! It also wasnt my first gen, but definitely my favorite~ I still have the game, but my old ds is broke now so I sadly cant enjoy it anymore... However, I play PokeMMO which uses gen 5 as their base game haha

This is the biggest nostalgia trip ever for me. Almost all of these songs, I remember like it was yesterday. I spent all my childhood playing through every game from Soul Silver to Sun & Moon. I might just need to buy myself a 3DS one day and play through all these again. Thank you for the great childhood memories Pokemon

Route 10 in B/W is just my absolute favourite. I can't believe it was used for one of the shortest routes in the game. Honestly brilliant 🤙🏼

It warms my heart to see so many music tracks from Hoenn. My debut in Pokemon was in the Hoenn, so hearing the original surf theme I spent so much time listening to as a kid while going through the region, as well as hearing Littleroot town music bought tears to my eyes, especially since they were the original ones, instead of from the gen 6 remakes.
How did you not put the lake theme from Pokemon diamond/pearl?! That's definitely my #1

its hard to put together in words how sharp the soundtrack is. by far the best pokemon ost and even competes with some of the best game osts in general.

Overall you can easily argue Sinnoh had the best soundtrack of the first 6 regions. Sunyshore City, Route 216/217 (the blizzard road to Snowpoint City), Veilstone City, Cynthia may have the best champion soundtrack and is there anyone who DOESN’T get goosebumps during the first 10 seconds of Cyrus’ battle theme? Where are any of those soundtracks on this list? All make my top 40.
Gary Malpeli nah it’s unova it had route 10, the end credits theme, colress, a actual elite 4 theme, driftveil city, hughs theme, the team plasma grunt theme, ghetsis theme, ns theme, ns farewell, the victory road theme and there is many more.
This video is really good, there are so many of my favorite themes! For example Sycamore's or Alder's encounter theme, which many people doesn't know or remember! There are many PMD themes missing but I guess you only took themes from main games?
the intro music to d/p is literally the track that defines my entire childhood, it perfectly captures that emotion and sense of discovery/beginnings, especially looking back at them

Are you talking about the original soundtrack or the remixes from 4th gen? Because the original didn't even have percussion and the remixes are in a sort of jazzy style like sinnoh.
Pallet town hits so hard. I remember playing Pokemon blue on my N64. I didn’t have a gameboy so my parents bought me an expansion pack and Pokemon stadium.

In B/W I love it so much that, and how, the music changes whenever someone sings or plays an Instrument. Really lovely Detail!
Snowbelle city... The music reflects the period in the trainer's life SO well. It's the final stretch, he's about to face Wulfric, the toughest gym leader of Kalos. As that thought comes to mind, he gets flashbacks of nostalgia that show how far he's come. The journey is coming to an end, however the greatest challenges are yet to come. It's time to head forward!

Aahhhhh, the nostalgia!! Pokémon SoulSilver was my very first Pokémon game, and the Johto region will forever be my first home. It's actually really nice being able to listen to the soundtracks without all of the stress and tension (and rage) of the battles that went with them; I was either too focused on roasting my opponent or already won the battle to get a chance to hear the whole song...at any rate, I love this!!!
Also, anybody else think Lysandre (from #11) kinda looks like Endeavor from BNHA?

i saw N first and i knew this had to be good to have N's theme first.
I have to say, the champion theme from HeartGold and SoulSilver is my favorite. Mostly because red is my favorite fight in any of these games and that theme just fit the fight so well.
I remember the Regi's cave theme from Hoenn. Amazing sound that really set the mood.

I have a soundtrack CD of HeartGold and SoulSilver, I love it so much, but I think I prefer gen 5's music just a teensy bit more. Gen 6's music is squished closely, too.

@@alzhanvoid I categorize gen 2 and gen 1 in the same field. They both didnt do shit for the series compared to other games and I find them completely boring. Gen 2 I feel like is the worst. Gold and silver and their remakes just arent fun until you get back to kanto

Although I will admit that gen 1, excluding the champion theme, had pretty mediocre music, the game itself was very much a memorable, fun and enjoyable experience, which gen 2 improved on, and gave nice pieces to boot. The remakes made these classics even better. Sure, there are better, say black and white and its followup, but they aren't broing and they _definetly_ did do shit for the game. They goddamn STARTED it all. Spawned 2 of the most popular characters, Red and Blue, and one of the most memorable themes (vs Champion Red/Lance and vs Champion Blue).
