  • AA is the go to for alcohol addiction. But does AA work? Or does non twelve step addiction recovery have a better chance to lead one to an addiction free life? I will say due to the poor success rate of AA that the twelve step program actually lowers your chance to beat addiction. Watch this video to find out why and how a holistic approach will serve the addict better to lose that status forever. If you find this video helpful, don't forget to subscribe, like, comment and share to those who need it. Thanks for hanging out on my channel for awhile---Charles

I don’t go to AA or NA anymore, but I am grateful for all that it did for me. I have my reasons for going along in my current journey, and am very happy. I don’t want to go to meetings three times per week, but each to their own.

AA is not a magical effortless cure. AA is a fellowship of like minded people enjoying each other's company and conversation

And that is exactly my point---I am 16 years recovered and cured. I don't rehashing it, live a healthy life, do not smoke and have very rare cravings that are transient and minimal if at all. So do others who found alternative holistic approaches.

I went to AA for almost 2 years. I never encountered any of the cult mentality described in this video. AA is a social fellowship. Only step 1 is really very important. I quit drinking after 46 years of whiskey and 52 years of pot smoking. AA is not a cult.

Whatever works for you. Don't rip on anyone's journey. I'm an Iraq war vet, '04 and '06 and now work as a Paramedic. I drink a few night a week alone and cry myself to sleep. I get up go to work. I've not missed a day in 6 years. Don't preach or shit on someone elses journey.

I would never come back after the 2 times I went 11 months into sobriety over 14 years ago. It was the most negative, destructive thing I've ever seen under the guise of "help." And I haven't touched alcohol for over 15 years now. If someone is going every night after years sober they have a psyche problem. AA should have changed its methods decades ago. And depending who you read they have a 60-80% failure rate. Passages which doesn't do twelve steps, believes in curing the person, yes curing, and holistic recovery has an 80% success rate. So no matter what you would say I say look at your numbers. (Minus those rare studies that are funneled by AA and not good overall data for long term start to finish)
