these are serious questions: why are they white? why do they always have british or some European accent? Why cast Russell Crow to give another 300 performance? I mean come on!
Excellent movie. Watched it with my crew last week. I definitely recommend it for anyone who is into mythology and action. Because this movie is a literal definition of that. Wonder why it's just now popping up on my recommended. Thank you for introducing this epic movie to us. :)
i bet sunscreen was the biggest budget for this movie! They could have invested less money into that if they actually used the indigenous and ancient representation of the land... a.k.a... BLACK PEOPLE!
+James Mighty Here's what Herodotus said of Egypt his book The Histories. "The Egyptians excelled all other nations in the sciences" (of course he was telling the truth. ***** If you're dealing with history, color matters, why?? because images speaks a THOUSAND word. reading a book is different from watching a movie Hollywood knows where to find black actors when making movies like blood diamond, captain philips and many other movie that depicts BLACKS in a NEGATIVE way, but when it comes to making movies that really reveals the GLORY of black/ African Heritage, then they'll rather used someone of a European descent. As a student who's really into films CGI and animation. I assure you that one day i'll make a movie where the true depiction of the Egyptians will be truly revealed!
With the abundance of high profile black actors in Hollywood, they have no excuse for this casting. Its like a movie of Queen Elizabeth being played by Beyonce or Kevin Hart playing Napoleon, it's not about race but I'm sure that would throw off the authenticy of the movie just a bit. Its not about race but this was deliberate on Hollywood's part!
'Gods of Egypt' was awesome. Wow. Really was. I know people say it was low level in terms of depth, and it is like a movie that a computer would create, but that's why it's a really amazing stream at your computer. CGI like this can totally enliven your ability to conceptualize visually. Kids can watch this and if they're like . . far out man . . so what is Egyptian mythology, they'll have a visual world already installed in their brains to bring to life ancient mythology. So. I don't know how actors can act so well when the visuals are just so awesome to see and to grasp. Would have liked to see Hathor at the crowning ceremony at the end, but the happy ending was really cool. For people with very little invested in fantasy, MMORPGS, fantasy books, mythology, it'll be hard to feel like you are involved in the story. But. If you are someone with an overactive imagination, and a lot invested in fantasy, everything in 'Gods of Egypt' is believable and real, maybe too real. I have a feeling movies are going to force people to invest personal time into being open to entertainment, in the future like never before, especially with visual directors going nuts with the CGI. If you watch this and you hate it, there's Turner Classics. Or. ou can stream 'Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court,' with Bing Crosby and Rhonda Fleming. I did that a month ago.
For all those complaining about the casting, may I remind you that we have a allowed Nick Fury, who is white in the comics to be played by a black person. We have allowed Merlin, a character from European mythology to be played by a black man. We have allowed the entire cast of the Wizard of Oz, who in the books are white to be played by black people. We've allowed Hercules to be played by a Samoan. My point is, if letting non-white actors play characters who normally are white, while not allowing white people to play characters from non-white mythologies is not fair, it's a complete reversal of problems.
+godzillavkk You have found exceptions of no real significance and you are trying to use that as a justification for this terrible casting. Of course you can deviate from facts a little - but this is much more... and it is the second movie within a year about ancient Egypt that consists of almost entirely a white cast. It is a kind of ignorance that can't really be justified any longer. My point would be that Hollywood has still only shown us a white Egypt, completely disregarding any facts about the people of this ancient civilization. So it stands to reason that some people - in 2015 - are demanding a depiction more true to what we know about them today and how they depicted themselves. When that has been established(like it has the other way around with the examples you mention) we must presume that this subject will be far less... sensitive.
LyleYoung You have read nothing in my original comment. Besides this movie is not history, it's mythology. Exodus Gods and Kings is not history either, it's mythology. And in mythology, which is the olden days equivalent to modern day comic books or sci-fi or fanatsy tv shows, you can do strange things. And we've allowed Blacks to play roles that normally would be played by white people. Denying white actors certain roles and allowing black actors more roles is no fair system of casting. I think this is a fair trade. Black people can play normally white characters, this is visa-versa. Sounds fair to me.
***** I honestly don't care what Ancient Egyptians looked like. Besides these gods have not been worshiped in 5000 years. 5000 years is so far back that I think people should not really care that much. People have criticized me for thinking that because we have allowed characters like Merlin or Nick Fury to be played by black actors that we can allow gods from Northern Africa to be played by white actors because white actors are the majority. That may be true but we have to give actors as many roles as possible. And if we can allow black actors to play Merlin or Nick Fury(Comics are seen as the modern equivalent of ancient mythology) then I think we can and should allow this. And if this movie doesn't work, I know another story that could be made into a movie concerning the Egyptian pantheon that avoids controversy as hard as you possibly could, The Kane Chronicles.
***** Well there was one Kingdom in Africa that we do know was filled with black skinned people. The Songhai Empire. It only lasted 100 years, but in that short amount of time it had many accomplishments, including being the largest Empire Africa ever saw.
Whats the name of the song on 0:00-0:12? The main song used for this trailer is 'Immediate Music - Apocalypse' but this start sounds different to me and I'm pretty sure, that I heard this piano on another Song before. Thanks
+Alexander sp No Egyptians are not white, but globally marketable actors are. It's about money brah, if an Arabian cast would make more money that's what we would see
+Alexander sp The antagonist has a pretty obvious Greco-Roman theme going on and is probably foreign. Not all Egyptians were black (hieroglyphs paint them as a brownish color primarily, Nubian brought slaves would be what we'd consider properly black) and the region eventually came under the thumb of Rome and Greek rulers, mixing them into the populace. Given the move is fantastic in nature, it's likely that Egypt's significantly greater wealth and power brought in far more foreign peoples from the trade and opportunity, and thus the diverse cast and population follows. Why are the main characters all white? Directorial choice, presumably because they had a vision for the characters and found actors who fit them that worked well on set. While it'd be nice to see more Misri, Arab or Levantine actors, many of them are either inexperienced, inaccessible, or do not speak English and thus can't be cast in the roles needed. Ultimately it doesn't matter the character's skin color or background though as long as they protray their characters well.
+Heshieok Fasla So nowadays all black people are black not brown... HAHA. Egypt is in Africa... Even though it is seen to be more middle eastern nowadays that was far from the case during the rule of Ancient Egypt. should anyone care there is mainly a white cast? No it a movie, But for the younger people watching most of them are visual learners because of modernization. This just adverts their perspective of Ancient Egypt to a straight lie. Now this is disrespectful. You know damn well if someone tried to make a film about the Roman empire and a African guy was better at playing the role of caesar he would never be called up for the role. You have to look at the bigger picture and think about how someone else feels, because i sure as hell wouldn't want to watch a movie about a bunch of Africans playing Roman's, running around and controlling Rome during the Roman rule.
+Alexander sp WHile egyptians were not necessarily white they also were not "Black". Egyptians cutlure and race was diversified and looking at they resembled latino features compared to black or white.
+Odin Sif for a dynasty, yes, they had black kings, they were Nubians, a quite underatted black African empire located at contemporany Sudan, but the main core of the Egipt were simmilar, maybe darker maybe whitetier (I dont know how and how much the Arabs ethnic modifide the natives), but not blacks. Btw I think the same about the film, it would be even better to wacht if it had more old kingdom style rather that pop culture bullshit Egypt and they cast better actors for the roles (even blacks would fit the roles better than that nordics)
People are overtly obsessed with the ethnicities of these characters. This is one hell of a movie with excellent casts to deliver their roles! It's not a documentary about ancient Egypt. It's a fantasy movie! It's meant to be enjoyed with awe & admiration 😋
I can already tell it's gonna flip in the box office but I can guarantee that I'll like it. It's the same with Jupiter Ascending last year, I loved that and that didn't perform well despite the huge production budget. I'm excited for this even if the CGI isn't perfect.
seriously unbelievable how many people come to youtube just to air their opinions on skin color! Really folks, this is what you have in life to worry about - what color the people are in a film??? Sad. You can be sure that you will experience things in this life that will be far more important to you than what color an actor's SKIN was in a movie you watched once back in 2015. For the rest of you that came here to see what real folks thought of the movie (without the racist commentary on skin-color and where everyone is from and how there is a conspiracy against certain people groups), the movie was GREAT! I particularly enjoy sci-fy/fantasy films and this one was good (and I didn't care one bit about skin color, or who had an accent). The acting was great, the storyline was fine, and the money I paid to watch it on Vudu was totally worth it. Enjoy. (And don't waste your time on the comments - 95% of them are arguing about the skin color of the actors - it's both laughable and tragic that people are still so hell-bent on being so vocally racist that they can't just sit down and enjoy a movie. (No wonder the comments were disabled on the other available trailer - racist issues were probably even worse on that one - as hard as that is to believe).
***** Thats where you are incorrect . If you knew proper history I wouldn't have to tell you this . Caucasian people came from the Caucasus mountains , Thats where Caucasian come from because they were the first cavemen & white people didnt know how to build a civilization , so they settled at the Caucasus mountains . So do your research , thank you very much . & when I say treasures I actually meant Africa's Artifacts . You tried so hard to seem educated but it just made you look stupidly illiterate by saying the wrong facts . Get it together , have a nice day .
Based on the comments, its safe to assume that no one is allowed to like anything; say if someone said that liked and would watch this movie, he would be immediately yelled at for being an idiot.......well i don't care, i'll see this movie, whether it be at release or by dvd, and it'll probably have bad choices and acting, but I will honestly enjoy it and movies are just that, meant to be enjoyed.
conceptions of race didn't even exist until the 19th century. So stfu. And if you really want to know. The egyptians were not exactly black but definitely not white. They had pigment however evolved in such a way to survive in the environment that they were in. They're even depicted as medium brown people in hieroglyphs as far as I saw.
But I do not see any Black main actor playing one of the Gods tho.. This movie casting is historically inaccurate. Because during that time, the Gods and rulers were very much Black. Smh the trailer seems good, but Idk if I wanna see it bc White Hollywood always take away the truth & credit feom us Blacks & will constantly downgrade our existence and contributions to this world. very upsetting.
Do u realize that ur saying "gods" were black lol umm wake up call there wernt actual gods walking around in ancient Egypt its called mythology Js lol so you can make them purple if u want and as far as the common ppl in the movie i saw alot of dark skin i just dont understand why this hole thread thats all ppl are talkin about i can point out much worste shit goin on with this movie
Looks like a 'so bad its good' type of movie. I love Alex Proyas' Dark City and am a sucker for Sci Fi and Egypt related movies so I'll definitely see this. For free that is.
Obsidian SeventyOne I applaud you for gathering all this, But Confirmation bias does seem pretty prevalent here. a quick google search would reveal text and evidence pointing in multiple directions, There is a reason why both the Caucasian / Hamitic hypothesis and the The Black Egyptian hypothesis is exactly that, hypotheses. But fact of the matter is the whole ordeal is not as black and white as the modern populace wants it to be. Modern activists who work in unscientific ways force themself upon the topic, and they generally control the public image sadly. Yet in the academic circles we paint an entirely different picture. lets take a look at the topic of tutankhamon to start with. Biological anthropologist Susan Anton, the leader of the American team, said the race of the skull was "hard to call". She stated that the shape of the cranial cavity indicated an African, while the nose opening suggested narrow nostrils, which is usually considered to be a European characteristic. Yet , the current Secretary General of the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities, Dr. Zahi Hawass stated "Tutankhamun was not black in 1975 pigment revealed that Rameses the 2 had red hair. i quote: "Hair, astonishingly preserved, showed some complementary data - especially about pigmentation: Ramses II was a Red haired 'cymnotriche leucoderma'." The description given here refers to a fair-skinned person with wavy Red hair. Finally i would like to address the Kemet argument. to start with let me quote: Frank M. Snowden asserts "Egyptians, Greeks and Romans attached no special stigma to the colour of the skin and developed no hierarchical notions of race whereby highest and lowest positions in the social pyramid were based on colour. Meaning that even the word black meant something completely different back then. the understanding and comprehension of egyptian culture is a delicate matter. I'll quote mr Zahi Hawass again on the topic, as he knows more about it than you are i combined. “When you look at the statues that were colored black, it doesn't mean anything. Sometimes black can show the fertility of the land. That when the king showing himself in black is really assuring the fertility of the land. Most of the artifacts we have are religious artifacts. it's not really something that are realistic. To show the person himself- some of the status are completely idealistic. They use durite, and when you look at the stone durite, in the sun it has rays. in their mind black and durite means fertility. meaning that the king is a spokesman of the fertility of the land. [i skip the part about gold]. Most of the colors has in the mind of egyptians symbolic values in many ways. That's why it is very difficult to look at the statue of a king and say he looks like this exactly. It dependent on how the artist wanted the statue to function. is it in a temple or a tomb? it has specific meaning when you put it in a temple or a tomb. He then goes on to make point about that there might be a large difference between the appearance of the royal and the common people of egypt. Yet educated viewpoints like this get drowned today bellow Pointless discussion of Black/white legacy and meaningless accusations of culture theff. One final note since i probably didn't address all of your arguments here, is that the egyptians where invades 8 times in the ancient world. So when Herodotus and some of the other literature sources talk about the appearance of the egyptians, it is but a tiny window into what they saw around the time of the writer. and nothing but little piece of the bigger picture.
Stefan Zaric to be clear I do not view Kemet as being all dark African. I hesitate to say black because it's really a subjective term and dependent on the whims of the individual. I think many people are confused about just what constitutes an African look. Most people in America are familiar primarily with your West African. Because of a growing Somali populace a few are beginning to understand that Africans look varied. Because of the Blue Nile Ancient Egypt had more of a blend of East Africans who tend to have dolichocephalic heads, thinner noses and frames. AE show phenotypical affinity with African groups like the Oromo, Somali, Beja and more but they also show what could be considered Near East or Libyan. This is what makes AE so fascinating. It was metropolitan, long lived and distinctly African in culture. African doesn't necessarily mean they were typically black but there's no doubt that some families (Dynasty) had a higher African phenotype than others.
research what moron? are you aware exactly were this land is? are you aware how old white people's DNA is? So what are you speaking about. it's impossible that they were white. If you claim you did your homework. facts are facts? So European people ruled Egypt and also ruled Greece and Rome. Amazing the shit morons like you say. IT IS A NOW A PROVEN FACT WHITE DNA IS 6000 YEARS OLD. So what research. Tell me what to look at. We're to go. And I'll go. If the first person on the planet was found in africa. and has African DNA. How is it white people wiggle they way into that point and time. So I guess your not aware of when certain tribes migrated from other places. according to people like you. Israel is not in Africa. The jews that they ship from Europe into Israel belong there? No they dont. this is why they can't deny Ethiopian jews into Israel because you can't disprove them. The jews in Israel are related to russians. lmaoooo. let's be real. If you do any research you will see all of the European lies told. Lucy is the oldest found human on the planet. she was found in Africa. She is black sorry to say. And one last thing. since your sooooooo into research. let's see if your truly into the truth. or if you are one of those culture stealing whites that talk to hear their own voice with little care about the truth. genetics teach u. white comes from black. not the other way around. white DNA has a flaw. That's just a fact. look it up. nordic DNA isn't from Africa. That's why Most white people have caveman DNA. about 6 to 4 percent. Cavemen didnt live in africa. Damn what a dumb ass. I'm going to chill with the name calling. because u are gonna use that to ignore the facts. it's just so stupid. that whites actually think they are indigenous to Africa just to try to wiggle themselves into pivotal points in history. it's a white wash that's being seen at this point. and it's sad. u are the one that needs to research. Because if u did. u wouldn't even get passed 6000 years and continue speaking about European people In that point and time. it's like saying Hispanic people were alive when Jesus was born. lmaoooo I can't not call you a dumb fuk. because you spoke as if u really know something. 😂😂😂😂😂. how about you do some actual research and look for the truth regardless of it showing you that Europeans are lying stealing vultures of culture and have been for decades.
Lol, im not obligated to educate the likes of you, but by the gods you tried. I'm not sure googleing “Why egyptians were black” and then copypasting the top 20 results into a youtube comment isent worth my time anyway.
Stefan Zaric by the gods I tried lmaoooo. The simple fact you can't speak is nothing but proof of your ignorance to the actual subject. Your nothing more then a cretin with the ability to text. Educate yourself before your even attempt to educate anybody else. The bottom line is you can't prove shit u say. Kinda like the world trade. Sounds real good. But we all know. It's bullshit 😂😂😂😂😂
I don't understand why people are ratting out this movie. I can see that the cast is pretty much all caucasion and granted we could've seen a balance of practical and cgi, but those things aren't always the important elements. It's the story that matters and how well the characters are made. I think this movie may have a chance. You can disagree on me if you like. But if you can turn off your bashing montages and start seeing the positives about it rather than just the negative then you might consider watching it. To me the trailer may have what it takes in terms of the grand scale, the climax and the execution of the storyline. Who can agree on this?
*gasp* I love mythology like this! I just truly hope it'll be as good, as this trailer. If so, then I'll gladly see it. I'm gonna find out if it is, anyway.
...remember back in the day when people didn't criticize so damn much and just watched and enjoyed movies just for the hell of it????.... bcuz screw it- I'm watching it!! :)
+GRAHF Can you imagine the outrage in the theatres if Don LaFontaine (R.I.P) were to announce Laurence Fishburne as George Washington??? Bwhahaha. I would buy a ticket just to see that reaction, eat my popcorn and exit the theater soon after.
+Orion Atlantai 500 years from now whites will be teaching that 2pac was white and there were no blacks or Hispanics living in Los Angeles at the time.
I saw this movie and honestly I loved it. Of course the mythology was real faulty and incorrect but still. I enjoyed it. The fact that I was obsessed with Egyptian Mythology when I was younger and I find it nearly impossible for me to dislike most movies probably is part of it.
for all the people freaking out about cgi, good luck trying to find a hundred foot serpent that breaths fire
+Christopher Springer but some real scenery and some creatures can be perfecly made with practical efects, AND IT WOULD FEEL WAY BETTER.

Exactly what I was saying like of course it's gonna be cgi none of this shit exist so what tf are they expecting
+nachoolo even when people make creatures and the scenery by hand they still add cgi to it you know that right

Walkingdog1000 I mean I've already watched about 5-6 reviews on it unanimously praising it. Not perfect, but very good.
In ancient Egypt everyone was white and had a British accent!!

this is just the synchronization...or do you think it would sound better with an Egyptian accent?! hahaha

why do they always have british or some European accent?
Why cast Russell Crow to give another 300 performance?
I mean come on!
+crashcroft That's not Russel Crowe, that's Gerard Butler. ya dumbass
+Stephane M woops typo. You didn't see anything
Are you not entertained?! Are you not entertained?!
Are you not entertained?! Are you not entertained?!
+crashcroft lol dont matter if its russell crow or not still would have been white
+James Mighty Preach
+James Mighty Here's what Herodotus said of Egypt his book The Histories.
"The Egyptians excelled all other nations in the sciences" (of course he was telling the truth. Just look at the Pyramids and countless other amazingly precise cyclopean structures still standing today which nobody has a clue how they constructed them).
"Egypt has so many wonders that defy the imagination"
I will add quotes about the race of the Egyptians.
"The Egyptians have BLACK SKINS AND WOOLY HAIR"
"The Egyptians say they are a colony of Ethiopia. Like them they have wool hair and black Skins"
+James Mighty No they apparently went with who they thought would do the role well and not what colour they should be.
SMH even though it is whitewashing bullshit
***** If you're dealing with history, color matters, why?? because images speaks a THOUSAND word. reading a book is different from watching a movie
Hollywood knows where to find black actors when making movies like blood diamond, captain philips and many other movie that depicts BLACKS in a NEGATIVE way, but when it comes to making movies that really reveals the GLORY of black/ African Heritage, then they'll rather used someone of a European descent.
+Joshua Simpson You have a point no doubt! But it's different if the entire cast in Hercules was Black.
Whatever people say, This will be one of the best movie in 2016.
When that has been established(like it has the other way around with the examples you mention) we must presume that this subject will be far less... sensitive.
LyleYoung
You have read nothing in my original comment.
*****
I honestly don't care what Ancient Egyptians looked like.
*****
Well there was one Kingdom in Africa that we do know was filled with black skinned people. The Songhai Empire. It only lasted 100 years, but in that short amount of time it had many accomplishments, including being the largest Empire Africa ever saw.
***** Well, it seems I caught myself a racist troll.
Whats the name of the song on 0:00-0:12?
The main song used for this trailer is 'Immediate Music - Apocalypse' but this start sounds different to me and I'm pretty sure, that I heard this piano on another Song before.
Thanks
why is everyone white tho?
Because Hollywood frowns on anything authentic or realistic.
+Alexander sp WHile egyptians were not necessarily white they also were not "Black". Egyptians cutlure and race was diversified and looking at they resembled latino features compared to black or white.
300, Game Of Throne & Hercules.... All mixed in to one, I'm looking forward to seeing this
That looks just terrible and cringy. Clearly a false depiction of african history.
.....Egypt had black leaders don't be deceived.
+Odin Sif I'm sure that was their endgame.
+Odin Sif They're gods, a myth
+Odin Sif Oh yes. A movie about Gods and Egyptian Mythology was CLEARLY going for Historical Accuracy.
This movie sober: 2/5
This movie drunk: 3/5
This movie on mushrooms: 10/5
To be honest, I kinda enjoyed this Movie.
I'm not saying it's amazing or anything.
But I had a good time with it.
This is not Egypt, THIS IS SPAARTAA!
I can already tell it's gonna flip in the box office but I can guarantee that I'll like it. It's the same with Jupiter Ascending last year, I loved that and that didn't perform well despite the huge production budget. I'm excited for this even if the CGI isn't perfect.
THIS......IS.......EGYPT!!!!!
seriously unbelievable how many people come to youtube just to air their opinions on skin color!
Would be better as a game than a movie.
Gods of CGI with Ant-Man music
Looks awful
+Eazy i watch it for the cgi
like ur mom
+Geometry Dash MuLhM lol
My mother died of cancer.
+Eazy 😂
my ancesters didnt fight and die to be remembered as whites
***** This movie is about my ancestors.
***** LOL that's racist as hell. First off every human being alive 3000 years ago who had children is everyones ancestors. So yes I'm Egyptian.
+Make America Great Again They also didn't ride giant fire breathing sand worms. You're really worried about the authenticity of this movie?
TheStallion234 Yeah
Random ChineseGuy RACIST
0:28 Who else thought they were gonna here "THIS IS SPARTA!"?
This movie's gonna bomb so bad... Should be obvious to the studio
All minority cast playing greek/roman gods. A Blockbuster hit!!!
1:10 3D Temple Run
Looks amazing
Finally they are producing a Egyptian Mythology movie*_*
Yo dawg I heard you liked some CGI so I put some CGI in you CGI
good thing they showed us all the big scenes in these trailers already and apparently the ending in this trailer saved us all a couple of bucks
Ant man music anyone?
+tranZilla15 oh shit it does, didn't even notice over my brain trying to process so much CGI.
+tranZilla15 valhalla from the hobbit…twelve titans
Hi-Finesse "Visionary". You're welcome.
Nooo this is definitely not ant man guys...open up your ears...
+tranZilla15 Life saver! That was going to bug me so much ;)
"More beasts. More demons. More gods." No Egyptians.
Where are my beautiful black Gods?
Gods dont exists!!!! It's mythology they can be green or purple if they wanted to
You whites want to appropriate black culture soo bad it's pathetic really ROFL
+Homercles the great! But white people have no culture....Try Again
Get it together , have a nice day .
ok great
Based on the comments, its safe to assume that no one is allowed to like anything; say if someone said that liked and would watch this movie, he would be immediately yelled at for being an idiot.......well i don't care, i'll see this movie, whether it be at release or by dvd, and it'll probably have bad choices and acting, but I will honestly enjoy it and movies are just that, meant to be enjoyed.
Why are Egypitian Gods Caucasian?
+GORO911 No they weren't Egypt is in Aftica and most kings as gods were African
+Emanuel Olivares lmao
***** LMAO egyptian are caucasian ??? LMAO
You cleraly don't know what you are talking about. They're not black but not white neither.
conceptions of race didn't even exist until the 19th century. So stfu. And if you really want to know. The egyptians were not exactly black but definitely not white. They had pigment however evolved in such a way to survive in the environment that they were in. They're even depicted as medium brown people in hieroglyphs as far as I saw.
Egypt was essentially a melting pot of cultures where people traveled to learn at the time we are talking about.
i watched this movie today and it was amazing❤ i'm really proud of my civilization
Do u realize that ur saying "gods" were black lol umm wake up call there wernt actual gods walking around in ancient Egypt its called mythology Js lol so you can make them purple if u want and as far as the common ppl in the movie i saw alot of dark skin i just dont understand why this hole thread thats all ppl are talkin about i can point out much worste shit goin on with this movie
check out Thoth, his actor is black
This looks AWESOME!!! Yeah I know many people think it's gonna suck, but hey, awesome CG monsters and epic battles? Yes please!
How about godawful. The god responsible for this movie.
I don't care what anyone says. Good actors mean good movie. I am so hyped and excited to see this stuff!!!!!!
blonde Egyptians? nah.
What's with the piano at the beginning of almost all the trailers?
this is a movie set in egypt yet everyone is white??? how the hell does that work??
+Nate Biggers well.....that escalated quickly
THE CGI IS SO AMAZING!!! OMG OMG OMG ! CAN'T WAIT TO WATCH THIS MASTER PIECE !!!!!!
hmm, so ancient Egyptians and their gods were all white.
every one arguing about bad CGI, should watch the part 1:07 to 1:15 at full HD quality and 0.25 Speed and then we argue.
THIS IS NOT SPARTA
Looks like a 'so bad its good' type of movie. I love Alex Proyas' Dark City and am a sucker for Sci Fi and Egypt related movies so I'll definitely see this. For free that is.
All this egyptians were all black mumbojumbo make me cringe, could you people care to do some research before you jump on the bandwagon?
Zahi Hawass stated "Tutankhamun was not black
in 1975 pigment revealed that Rameses the 2 had red hair. i quote: "Hair, astonishingly preserved, showed some complementary data - especially about pigmentation: Ramses II was a Red haired 'cymnotriche leucoderma'." The description given here refers to a fair-skinned person with wavy Red hair.
0:35 wow Robert Rodrigues works on this movie
CRINGE
wasn't he in the snow at the end of The Giver? Now he's in Egypt like that was a long walk
looks kinda sucky...
I didn't even know this movie existed until 2 minutes ago.
where are all the black people?
Can't stand in the sun for more than two hours without sunblock but, you lived in a 100 degree desert. Okay.
whitewashed
+Homercles the great!
No, the Jews did.
Gerard butler:"This is Egypt!"
Everywhere a Lannister goes... Chaos is sure to follow!
"U sure u aren't a god?"
"What would I be the god of?"
"Swag"
I don't understand why people are ratting out this movie. I can see that the cast is pretty much all caucasion and granted we could've seen a balance of practical and cgi, but those things aren't always the important elements. It's the story that matters and how well the characters are made. I think this movie may have a chance. You can disagree on me if you like. But if you can turn off your bashing montages and start seeing the positives about it rather than just the negative then you might consider watching it. To me the trailer may have what it takes in terms of the grand scale, the climax and the execution of the storyline. Who can agree on this?
His young sidekick looks exactly like Walt Jr from "Breaking Bad"
I felt like a kid, totally loved it.
Looks like it'll be an epic popcorn flick. A fun time at the cinema. I'm excited!
First the hand, now the eye. Damn it Jamie!
Funhaus be watching this trailer over and over now
*gasp*
I love mythology like this! I just truly hope it'll be as good, as this trailer. If so, then I'll gladly see it. I'm gonna find out if it is, anyway.
New Trend: Single key, 5 second inbetween intro music.
why so hate????? I like it :D
Giant monsters are always a good thing...
Watched the movie last night and loved it great movie
In the beginning is that Geoffrey Rush ( Capt. Barbossa from Pirates of the Caribbean )
i love movies based on the mythical land of white Egypt. heard thats where unicorns are from.
This looks really good.
I might have to check it out!
I love modern CGI :) I'm gonna go see this in 3D
...remember back in the day when people didn't criticize so damn much and just watched and enjoyed movies just for the hell of it????.... bcuz screw it- I'm watching it!! :)
Now if they'll only cast Laurence Fishburne as George Washington in movie.
+GRAHF Can you imagine the outrage in the theatres if Don LaFontaine (R.I.P) were to announce Laurence Fishburne as George Washington??? Bwhahaha.
I would buy a ticket just to see that reaction, eat my popcorn and exit the theater soon after.
I would really, really love to see that. I really would.
-THIS IS MADNESS!
-THIS IS EGYPT!!!
Great another Egyptian movie with nobody dark in sight
