AFFILIATE LINK DISCLOSURE: Friends, making a quality Loloho video is kind of like making sausage - only slightly more violent. It's a ridiculous amount of work that typically involves high dollar camera drops, blue-screen-of-death computer crashes, and at least one angry shotgun wielding old man shouting, “Hey! Get the hell outta here!” Once the final video is posted, rewards here on RUclips are few and far between (unless you are a masochist who enjoys being verbally abused by anonymous trolls). One saving grace is our affiliate links. JUST CLICKING THESE LINKS HELPS TO SUPPORT OUR LITTLE SHOW. Think of this clicking as like tipping - except that it doesn't cost you anything extra! If you eventually make a purchase via one of our affiliate links, we will receive a few pennies (and Sean typically invests these pennies in duct tape and video gear). Again, it doesn't cost you anything to click these links, and it's a great help to us. As always, safe travels, happy camping, and THANK YOU!

I'm so, so sorry for your loss, Kristy. I know how it hurts. I've lost my parents, my husband, my daughter and like you, even my dog. There are no words. But my thoughts are with you both. Hang in there, and please give yourself time. Don't worry about us. We'll be here when you're able to come back.

The range shuts down the highway for short times. If you do get stuck you might get rewarded with a show!!!!!!
The range usually will let you visit the missile farm.
The V2 display building is usually open too.

My condolences on your loss, especially sudden. I pray for your healing and consolation.
I grew up near White Sands, were often went there once or sometimes twice a year to spend the day picnicking sand sledding. Usually in summer, when you have to arrive early to get a covered table. Our sleds were flattened cardboard boxes we waxed down with Gulf Wax. The discs are a "new" thing. 😄

We were there this past March. The temperatures were ideal, but there was considerable wind. Even though we had sunglasses, the wind kicked up fine particles and eventually irritated our eyes. Fortunately we had some non-chemical eye drops from Whole Foods, and that helped a lot. BTW, the secret for a good slide is to repeat the same place you just went down, and find the steepest incline possible.

Kristi, may your memories of your mother be with you each and every day. I was happy to see you went back to Andale's in Mesilla...it's a favorite. White Sands is just beauty is so many ways. Also in the area, I would suggest a visit to the Space History Museum in Alamogordo, Three Rivers Petroglyphs just up Hwy. 54, Sunspot Solar Observatory up in the Sacramento Mountains east of the Park, and, of course, my home area, Cloudcroft. To be able to play in the sand and then go for a great hike or to Bluff Springs where you can see where the spring comes out of the mountain makes for a great day. Happy and safe travels!

We also combined this with a trip to Three Rivers Petroglyphs sites and also Bosque del Apache wildlife refuge...makes a great trip! I hope you found some peace at the park on your visit to my neighborhood. I see the sands everyday from the east mountains, Sacramentos.
Full moon night in the summer, late night park organized bike rides 2x a year, we have done. Ranger’s hikes too. Walking barefoot in the sands can be done but really barks up the feet and irritating to me.
In September, balloonists gather here before they go to ABQ first weekend in October. Water is very important if you hike or bike. People have lost their lives by water omission- warning! You did have good weather, winds pick up and the skies and mountains are obliterated, visibility gone. Storm watching in summer is spectacular, watch for lightening though.
Kite flying 👍. Drones 👎🏻 (USAF)
Last, sledding not so good after summer rains.
    Condolences On your mom’s passing.

Great info and thank you for the video about this National Park. So beautiful and precious...for sure. Yes, watch out for the missiles and weather. Extremes for sure. Thanks for sharing and take care. Dave.
