I have been studying this for over 10 years. I have read many books, talked to many people but never thought of RUclips as a legitimate tool (in this regard). You have absolutely surpassed any and all resources I have EVER found on this subject. This was clear, articulate, comprehensive, consistent and accurate. Thank you for all of your hard work and effort. I really have learned (and more importantly, retained) more than I have in all the years I've been studying. Thank you so much!!! (P.S. - I would have liked to have had some mention of those decks that switch Justice/Strength and how that impacts the cards AND it would be great to have a (perhaps clearer) understanding of negative and/or reversed cards). I just started Tarot about a month ago. I honest to God can't even remember what made me order it. When I asked my first question I realized the cards ONLY TELL THE TRUTH! I had to watch these a couple times. It's best to have your cards and go along and to also take notes, in my opinion. That way I have reference I can look back on. It does take time, but I really want to learn them. :)

I've been interested in Tarot for a long time, but have always found it daunting to try to learn the cards' meanings. I have several books that I've purchased over the years with great intent, only to look at the number of pages and amount of text to again be overwhelmed by the amount of information. I'm not opposed to work, but was looking for a baseline in books that wanted to give me the entire history. Your videos have provided that baseline, and the notes I've made while watching your videos will give me what I need to be able to move on to the next step, which is practicing in order to commit to memory, and then starting to read the books for further insight. After frantically looking for notes on the fool, I realized I didn't have any before this video. Then it hit me... the first video didn't start and second video didn't end like typical tarot tutorial videos... They didn't start with the fool... They end with the fool, which just make sense... I thought it would make sense to buy the original and get a feel for that like you said and then I can build my own intuitive reflections of the cards with other decs. Thank you for the video. I have read Tarot for 20 years. I started in '93. I find that everyone has to make their own system of how to define each card. I don't read them like everyone else by the artwork upon them, but by my emotions I get from them. It has never failed me yet.

Great memory aid! :) You can find plenty of books showing them on a "tree of life", or placing them against the zodiac signs, or studying elemental ties like "fire of water", "earth of air", etc., but they often fail miserably at getting the core ideas across until one has memorized and reflected upon tons of unnecessary correspondences (which should, in my opine, come later...) I've been a student of the art of memory for years and this is a great set of simple patterns to anchor them in long term memory. Thank you. This was very much needed and helped me to look at tarot in a new light.

I want to thank you for this useful resourse. These videos have been first of my Fundamental sources at the beinging of my ten year tarot study. And I am still learn new things with the videos every time I watch them. Thank you for help me and many others with learning the tarot.
I had to watch these a couple times. It's best to have your cards and go along and to also take notes, in my opinion. That way I have reference I can look back on. It does take time, but I really want to learn them. :)
You are awesooooooome. I just bought my first deck today, watched both parts of this, and I already have a basic understanding of all the cards. I even took 6 or 7 pages of notes. Thanks a ton for taking the time to put this together.
I haven't gotten my cards out for years but recently got a nagging feeling to get them out and start studying them. Thank you for your insight, your videos are a great help.
Ben, thank you so much for doing these videos part 1 and 2. I took classes many years ago with a great teacher and my notes from her are spot on with you! I have lost track of her but I will include some of your notes with hers and be able to give a meaningful and truthful reading. I just received black and white tarot cards, that encourage coloring them according to the colors in their attached book. So now I can relate on both levels. Again, thank you!

I've been interested in Tarot for a long time, but have always found it daunting to try to learn the cards' meanings. I have several books that I've purchased over the years with great intent, only to look at the number of pages and amount of text to again be overwhelmed by the amount of information. I'm not opposed to work, but was looking for a baseline in books that wanted to give me the entire history. Your videos have provided that baseline, and the notes I've made while watching your videos will give me what I need to be able to move on to the next step, which is practicing in order to commit to memory, and then starting to read the books for further insight. Thank you very much for openly posting this, and allowing all to learn/enjoy.

After frantically looking for notes on the fool, I realized I didn't have any before this video. Then it hit me... the first video didn't start and second video didn't end like typical tarot tutorial videos... They didn't start with the fool... They end with the fool, which just make sense... Just watched both videos and I've learned more on this than I have managed to find anywhere else. I just bought the rider deck. I thought it would make sense to buy the original and get a feel for that like you said and then I can build my own intuitive reflections of the cards with other decs. Wow... I made it all the way through. .. I've been sifting through a few other tarot lessons and getting bored 5 minutes in and exiting the video. Thank you for the video. I have read Tarot for 20 years. I started in '93. I find that everyone has to make their own system of how to define each card. I don't read them like everyone else by the artwork upon them, but by my emotions I get from them. It has never failed me yet.

Great memory aid! :) You can find plenty of books showing them on a "tree of life", or placing them against the zodiac signs, or studying elemental ties like "fire of water", "earth of air", etc., but they often fail miserably at getting the core ideas across until one has memorized and reflected upon tons of unnecessary correspondences (which should, in my opine, come later...) I've been a student of the art of memory for years and this is a great set of simple patterns to anchor them in long term memory. Thank you. This was very much needed and helped me to look at tarot in a new light.
