Got these two, Guyver 1 and 3 throughout 2019. Only paid scalper price of $130 for Guyver 1. But, I don't consider that unethical because, the figure had some reasonable time to appreciate in value and I'm the collector hunting for something rare and out of date that's still perfectly sealed in package. The use of bots to buy up more than what's supposed to be allowed so they can ransom them to collectors for absurd prices on day one is the unethical part. I'm a hardcore Guyver fan, so..... In fact, I just bought off ebay the complete 32 volumes of the manga in Japanese for the pictures, at least. Only 7 volumes are in English for the US.
In terms of size I think it’s important to remember that guyver 1 is hosted by a high school student, the size difference is also prominent in the max factory line as well so good on both series of figures for keeping size in mind. Fun review thanks!

I have to say, if you are unfamiliar with the Guyver franchise check out the animes as they are a really amazing underrated series! The live action movie Guyver Dark Hero was also really fun too (Guyver I played by Metal Gear Solid voice actor David Hayter). I'd also recommend reading the manga as well since most of the overall story wasn't shown in the anime (probably like 1/4 of the show is in anime form).
Me too! It's been awhile since the last one from this franchise. But, I'm keeping hope alive that they'll get around to those exact ones in this 6 inch scale. Male Guyver 2 was in the bio fighter scale and too large for these. And Figma finally making a Guyver 0, would be super dope! Now, if only it was practical and profitable for them to make all 12 Zoalords and a bunch of zoanoid forms into figs, so the Guyvers have someone to fight. And give me a reason to lose my house, my car, etc.
It's Kotobukiya MSG Chain Base. It got re-issued for Set A and Set B, $25/each and has 2 floors and 2 walls. Buy them in pairs. My setup is 3 of each Set A and Set B (6 sets total). Be wary of the pricing in eBay. You can get them from Japan online stores such as Amiami and HLJ. Probably start with 2 of each then add another pair if you want it bigger.
um... meades.. when you said you're usually not a fan when the kneecap stays with the thigh instead of the lower leg... that's like MOST of the import figures that have single knee joints. like... all figmas, ever.
can ya picture it mezco one 12 cyborg 009 classic version from manga/anime l,bloody roar,skullgirls....maybe figma tiny toons, duck dogers,daffy duck,tekken 2 characters,ed edd n eddy,billy&mandy,dipper,maybe,stand from gravity falls,star vs the forces of evil,

Sadly that's the case. Just sharing my opinion. On a regular knee (skin-tone) figma does it well. But on armored suit... it doesn't work as well.

I set my camera on high contrast to get more color. The lighting might have an effect too. hehe.
