Vlad I would love to see u do a interview with Mouse Man he was Pac's best friend from Baltimore I'm never getting tired of these 2Pac related interviews
🗣All you have to do is listen to 2 Pac song called "changes" we are still going through that today. If that ain't great then i don't know what to think. 🤷🏾♂️
EDI is totally right! the foundation is the emotion, and u cant rationalize and breakdown everything on everytime, because many of the great songs of all time(regardless the genre), has really simple lyrics. like from poetry thats why its art, its all put together into the emotion of the artist, the delivery, the flow, the voice, the personality, the intensity, the pace, etc in hip hop history is important breakdown some things and lyrics, but ultimately is about how u feel attached to the song

@@cloudyriver I could be wrong but lyricism is the technical ability to rhyme and have punch lines, multi-syllable schemes, flows ECT. Song writing is the ability to use lyricism to write a song to an instrumental. So 2Pac was not one of the best lyricists but he was able to use his lyricism to create great songs and that's song writing. Maybe he's not the best song writer either but I feel like a lot of people are judging his song writing only on lyricism.
@@abenyayapathi1083 You are talking about one tradition of lyricism, the one that came from NY in the 80s and focuses on being technical with words and trying to appear better with words than another man. Rap is more diverse than that. 2pac's lyricism is more in the tradition of Melle Mel, NWA and Geto Boys. Lyricism is about evoking emotions so it's gonna be subjective either way.
2Pac can turn something ordinary into something special. He wrote every lyric to every song he ever put out. Never put out a bad song. He’s definitely one of the best songwriters in hip-hop no doubt.
SHOUT OUT TO EDI, ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE EMCEE. I GLAD WENT ON GLAD TO LET HIM KNOW THAT PAC IS THE GREATEST SONGWRITER IN HIP HOP HISTORY AND THAT'S WITHOUT A DOUBT. MUISC IS ABOUT EMOTION HELL IT'S IN THE DEFINITION OF MUISC. PAC DID IT THE BEST AMONG HIPHOP AND HE UNDERRATED WITH HIS LYRICISM, HE WAS VERY VERSATILE WITH THAT PEN LIKE NO OTHER IN HIPHOP, ALL FACTS ! 🐐
I am glad that E.D.I. mean said this. I get angry when I hear people say that 2 Pac is not a great lyricist. But yet he is often quoted and I always hear rappers use his rhymes.
Emotion is connected to the lyrical aspect 💯. Here’s a question, how do people feel about PAC’s lyrics in the midst of what is happening now in the world? I bet you feel his emotion/lyrics etc more than ever
I'm glad that E.D.I went to bat for his homie. Everything he said is facts. Pac is quoted way more than Biggie and was far more multifaceted. I think it's just in most people's nature to not like to see a total package. It's most people's instinct to want to say, "yeah, they good at that...but they can't do this", or "they was weak at that" -- nah man. There are rare gems in this world that simply have the total package and Pac was one of them. He had the passion, the lyrics, the style -- everything.
This is for once a very logical , thoughtful argument between Vlad and a guest on the show . EDI MEAN is very informed and thoughtful himself . Peace to you my brother . Love from Accra Gh 👍🏻👊🏻
2pac was of a different spirit. The great ones are. Pac, Lennon, Prince, Michael. When their songs play, any generation old or new can vibe to it, they pay attention to it. The cadence of the voice, the lyrics, it hits different than ordinary music and musicians.
Pac was so emotional that I remember before the Dear Mama and others the song that hooked me first was Brenda's Got A Baby and then Keep your Head Up, he always was emotional and very aware of what he was penning, it's not just turn up music or superspeed, he always made you feel him from the good and the bad
When you hear dear mama it makes you feel something most other songs can’t. I could really careless how fast you can rap, all that is cool to hear and be impressed by, but it doesn’t invoke any emotions.
Did not Pac include the community in his music from the very beginning? Are his words and stories still not relevant today? From Brenda’s Got a Baby: That’s not our problem, that’s up to Brenda’s family, Well, let me show you how it affects our whole community. White Manz World: Do you love me mama, Why they keep on calling me nigga? Get my weight up with my hate and pay them back when I’m bigger. Still thuggin in this jail cell missin my block, hearing brothers screamin all night wishing the stop. Proud to be black but why we act like we don’t LOVE OURSELVES
@@ghostjason401 thank you ppl really sleep on this man's music catalog alot of his songs has a epic feel and sound to them plus his versatility is just off the charts its good to see ppl out there that get this
People forget that biggie got all his ideas from 2pac. Biggie went from "party & bullshit" to "ready to die". Biggie learned everything from pac. Facts

This what I been saying. You feel 2pac more than anybody ever in rap and greatness in artistry, no matter what the art form, is how well the audience connects to the art. That's why 2pac is the G.O.A.T.
Guess vlad forget biggie actually sang on a record..used west coast beats even had a reggae record..so much for staying in one lane..vlad you need better researchers cause some statements you make are just outrageous
@TheOne111 he did swtich it up from time to time, the whole ready to die is soooo different to life after death. 2pac smashed it, but wen he made thos types of songs wiv a message behind it that was 2pac at his best when he started making songs like toss it up and how you want it for me it didn't work
I give it to 2pac for rap. He touched on so many different levels that is still relevant today. It is still sad that he is gone. 2pac music will still be relevant 100yrs or more. RIP to Afeni Shakur and Tupac 👍🏾🙏🏾
@Kenny Lafortune that you put Jay'sname in your mouth at the same time with Pac, just shows how ignorant you are, Jay-Z is a fake azz clown Who had dine nothing for No one and his music is garage, and as a person he is even worse.
@Kenny Lafortune you do know that Jay was a bitch when Pac was Alice, he didnt even had the balls to do shows in LA/California he was scared of Pac, cuz he was shooked and a little bitch.
Just had this conversation yesterday. Overall, PAC is the greatest ever because of his versatility in subject matter. He touched on everything and excelled at it. Not many, if any can say that. He covered many lanes...you could say he had multiple personalities...
Pac was my favorite rapper of all time but not in my top 10 as a lyricist. His song writing ability was phenomenal. His music was definitely something you feel.
I think 2Pac is the best. One important thing some people don't seem to take into account when they compare songwriters is the fact that he only was 25 (and even way younger) when he wrote all those powerful lyrics. No one at that age can compare to Pac.
" PAC rhymed from the pit of his stomach, pouring those words out because he meant it!!!" - Shock G " Pac used his platform to make people feel good and help people get through the day!!" - also Shock G " there where points where we where experiencing the difference between a regular rapper and a LEGEND! and whatever reasons Pac's decision's MAD HIM A LEGEND!!!" - 2pac's brother Mopreme " people felt the LOVE that came from 2pac, they felt the PASSION in his lyrics, they felt his ability to identify with them!!! But he had a HEART that was huger than any!!" Micheal Eric Dyson on 2pac

Some rappers just can’t get rid of them 90’s feelings they had but try hard to be balance in their opinion. You can disagree anybody on anything but just make sure it’s coming out of a place of honesty and not envy.

There's a difference between lyricism and song writing
what's your point? a song with lyrics must have a lyrical quality to it
@@cloudyriver I could be wrong but lyricism is the technical ability to rhyme and have punch lines, multi-syllable schemes, flows ECT.

I am glad that E.D.I. mean said this. I get angry when I hear people say that 2 Pac is not a great lyricist. But yet he is often quoted and I always hear rappers use his rhymes.
Gotta include Busta on that list of multi-syllable rap greats, he's right there on the next tier below Twista in that category.
I still listen to 2pac almost every day and i still get chills from his lyrics
Emotion is connected to the lyrical aspect 💯. Here’s a question, how do people feel about PAC’s lyrics in the midst of what is happening now in the world? I bet you feel his emotion/lyrics etc more than ever
"And they say it's the white man I should fear but it's my own kind doing all the killin here"
I'm glad that E.D.I went to bat for his homie.

When you hear dear mama it makes you feel something most other songs can’t. I could really careless how fast you can rap, all that is cool to hear and be impressed by, but it doesn’t invoke any emotions.

@Kenny Lafortune not really just your opinion

Being so objective like yourself is so underrated

listening to (until the end of time) alone let you know how great of a song writer he was
Thank you E. D for coming thru and shuttin that bullshit down
I think 2Pac is the best. One important thing some people don't seem to take into account when they compare songwriters is the fact that he only was 25 (and even way younger) when he wrote all those powerful lyrics. No one at that age can compare to Pac.
🏅🌅Tupac's voice alone is Untouchable🌅🏅
Hes the best lyrical ... And still he is 2020 no one has lyrics like him unique one of kind
The vibe and the feeling I get from his music. It’s like he’s speaking to me.
Pac lyrics would make anybody feel something
" PAC rhymed from the pit of his stomach, pouring those words out because he meant it!!!" - Shock G
" Pac used his platform to make people feel good and help people get through the day!!" - also Shock G
" there where points where we where experiencing the difference between a regular rapper and a LEGEND! and whatever reasons Pac's decision's MAD HIM A LEGEND!!!" - 2pac's brother Mopreme
" people felt the LOVE that came from 2pac, they felt the PASSION in his lyrics, they felt his ability to identify with them!!! But he had a HEART that was huger than any!!" Micheal Eric Dyson on 2pac
Comparing singers to rappers is kinda bizarre cause singers don't focus on lyrical ability but melodies and emotions.
