ACTUAL FACT: Bruce Lee was so incredibly fast in real life that often when filming the director(s) would force Bruce to slow down his movements so that they could be caught on film. YES. Bruce Lee moved faster than could be recorded on film.

Bruce Lee lived his early life in Hong Kong. His parents were theater performers who traveled to the US, where Bruce Lee was born. They returned to Hong Kong, and Bruce had some acting jobs as a toddler. When he grew up, he danced professionally, too. In his teens he got into several physical altercations, so his parents thought that learning Wing Chun would teach him the discipline he lacked. He eventually got in trouble with the police, so his parents sent him to the US to study to prevent further issues. That is when he started teaching Kung Fu to celebrities like Steve McQueen, James Coburn, and later Kareem Abdul Jabar. His popularity eventually landed him the role of Kato in The Green Hornet, which became a huge hit in Hong Kong. When Bruce Lee returned to Hong Kong to visit his family, he was overwhelmed by his popularity. Soon after he signed with producer Raymond Chow to make The Big Boss. It was the biggest martial arts hit in Asia, and Bruce Lee became a legend.

Bruce was a child star in China but he was born in San Francisco while his parents were touring with a Chinese opera company. His father sent him to the US from Hong Kong because he kept getting into knife fights. His mother was half German. He got into all kinds of trouble with Chinese martial artists because he accepted Caucasian students. He worked in the show Longstreet as James Franciscus' martial arts teacher. I have read that he had the original idea for the show Kung Fu, but his idea was stolen. Asians weren't seen as lead actors at the time. When he played Kato, sidekick to the Green Hornet on that tv show, I still remember seeing Bruce kick out a lightbulb over his head without jumping to reach it. I read much later that they had to routinely ADD frames to his action scenes so the audience could see what he was doing. His widow still speaks warmly of him. You may be interested in watching his fight in Game of Death with Kareem Abdul Jabar, who was one of his students.

That video is entertaining. It is a Nokia commercial and fake, but still rather entertaining. A lot of folks seem to be frustrated by things like this, but I find it interesting how much Bruce Lee's legend seems to grow as time goes by. That is human nature of course, but it is interesting to see it happening in real time.
Bruce Lee was The Man, for what he was actually capable of doing, so my comments here are in no way intended to diminish his legend, this is just an observation.
Chuck Norris is travelling down the same road, and that is equally interesting to me.

Despite his quick reactions and insightful precision, Bruce Lee actually had terrible eyesight. This meant that he wore large glasses all his life, and was even one of the first people to ever try out contact lenses. He relied on instincts, observation, and intuition plus, he was a great listener, which worked well with observation.

Our bodies are primarily water. The interviewer is a famous Canadian journalist and author, Pierre Burton. The entire interview is remarkable. As a TV executive, I had numerous opportunities to meet him. Interestingly, he could roll a joint with one hand, which I always found impressive. That fact has always made me wonder if they were stoned for this interview, because when you see the whole thing, it kind of feels like they are.

Greetings and Love from Germany. I (51y) am a Bruce Fan since 1978. Because of his skills as a fighter and his movies. After years i found out that he was also great in Philosophie. Water is flexible and adapts everywhere. In life, you have to reckon with a variety of situations. You should be able to adapt to them. Don't just fixate on one solution, Be Water, my friend....He actualy wrote a book bout his life philosophie, called "The Tao of Jeet Kune Do". His philosophie really helps me thru my alcohol rehab and supports me still to stay sober for now 13 years. I can say he literary saved my live r.i.p. Bruce stay safe, my friends "Don't pray for an easy life.

I grew up in 80s, watched all his films probably 100x each..used to cut my hair like Bruce, bought a heavy set of nunchucks in 6th grade and sometimes had to carry them to school and in neighborhood bcoz I lived in a gang area.. once it saved me against 5 highschoolers trying to beat me up I was around 14! @@upfront2375 ..wuff, 3 years sober, congrats buddy, thats great. You're proud of yourself, i'm sure. After few months being sober, many things came back slowly, things that i've lost. Like feeling happyness, my smile, my sense of taste and smell, to love my own body, to love myself, to enjoy something, damn, i was quite a mess. I guess the best feeling/attitude that came back, was for me 'Pride'. To beat the devil alcohol was my biggest achievement in life. I was so proud of myself. And i'm still proud. In the 80s and 90s i couldn't buy nunchucks here in Germany. So i made myself some from mum's broomstick and a chain. I can still feel some pain today. Years ago i ordered a pair by Ebay. Those lightweight soft nunchucks. But which with joints for a smooth swing. Is it called 'joints' .? Sounds like 'MaryJane', hehe.. Articulations, you know. I can handle them quite good. Fortunately i never had to use them. Bless you too

@@stefanstock953 Yeah I'm so proud bcoz I never thought that I could ever stop smoking dope but finally did it and now I feel good. It wasn't to get high anymore, just to use and not feel sick. I got hooked up with it when my gf died of cancer and a few months before I quit using, my fiancee left me and she never said that my addiction was the reason (maybe didn't wanna break my heart) but I saw it as a good enough excuse for leaving.
Very nice to hear that you got your life back together finally!
My nunchucks are maple with a long steel screw running through the wood, very heavy duty and 1 wrong hit to the elbow will leave it with pain for a week Lol The chain shouldn't be normally longer than 4-5". Always stretch your arms and warmup before practicing and use the momentum for controlling it. Never force a move just let it flow and go with it, U can also use your legs and thighs to reverse a rotation. I was never good at showcasing bcoz I practiced mainly combat strikes and to control the impact after a hit. Keep breathing like your jogging and only hold your breath before striking for precision.
I'm Persian-Scott/Irish btw. So nice to talk with you and wish you a happy and prosperous long life mein bruder✌🏼

There's a movie about his life called "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story" as with all movies it has embellishments but it's fairly accurate. Also he did write at least one book that I know of called "The Tao of Jeet Kune Do". Lastly, his son Brandon Lee died from a faulty prop gun that actually shot out a piece of debris that struck Brandon, I don't remember if he died instantly or if it took a bit to kill him but I believe it was a fairly short time from the time of the incident till he died.

Bruce didn't have perfect vision. He was actually near-sighted and needed glasses. He relied on emotional tenses and reference points on the body when reacting to an opponent and their movements. Another reference to water that he emphasizes on is the fact that water is also the softest substance in the world. It's peaceful but can be destructive. It's the weakest form of material but can penetrate the hardest surface. Most of all water is fluid and doesn't stop moving. That's the comparison he makes with Kung Fu.

Actually water DOES have memory. ICE. Water poured into any shape then placed in freezing temperatures will freeze into ice in the same shape as the container that was used be it a cube, sphere, star, pyramid, trapezoid, or even a figurine. Water will freeze into whatever shape was used to contain it while being frozen. So yes, water does indeed have memory.
Also the ice will melt and return to being water after being thawed out. The ice will remember it has a liquid state and upon melting return to it's fluid form becoming water once again.

When I was in high school there was a running debate among my friends about who would win in a fight: Ali in his prime vs Bruce in his. Completely different styles, but those 2 men represent the peak of human fighting potential. No one today even comes close to those 2. That would've been the greatest exhibition fight of all time.

Adapt your style at the situation, tni was his belive. In some situation will be better a kick, in o ether one a punch, elbow or kniling. This is the water, adapt your self, and nothing better than the water can do it..

Bruce Lee's eyesight was notoriously bad. Because of his eyesight he was a horrible driver. Which makes the things he does and could do so extraordinary.

1:27 this is not true. Water has a memory and responds to people's emotions!

I know what you mean but that's not true. In the context that you're saying... I mean yea I guess you're right, would be mkre accurate to say it has no shape but water does have memory. That might sound crazy or stupid but I feel like you could be open to the concept. I can't explain it here would take ages and I wouldn't do it justice. Not on the channel, on your own when you have an hour and wanna change your perspective of nature look into it. I said an hour cuz you're gonna have to prob dig a little to find good info. I know you're aware youtube isn't what it used to be. They delete and or hide deeper alternative thinking. Please look it up. And if you find out what I'm talking about do the rice experiment and it'll help bring it to reality.

WHY do they (not you guys) always show the nunchuks/ping pong footage, and pass it off as Bruce? It was done with effects decades after he died.

That Ping Pong scene is NOT real Bruce Lee. Some irresponsible vlogger like Beerdy kept using it in clips to impress viewers. Bruce Lee was amazing but he did not do that scene. It was created in modern times for a TV commercial. Check Snope: "Did Bruce Lee Play Ping-Pong with Nunchaku?"
"A video clip purportedly showing actor and martial arts master Bruce Lee expertly playing ping-pong using nunchaku (also called "nunchucks" or "nunchuks") rather than a paddle has amused and astounded viewers for years now. However, as a full version of the video shows, this clip is not a recording of a real event; it's just a digital creation intended as a viral advertisement for the Nokia N96 Limited Edition Bruce Lee cell phone, produced in 2008 (thirty-five years after Lee's death) by the Beijing office of the JWT (J. Walter Thompson) advertising agency."

The Ping Pong video is fake, it's a CGI effect for a Nokia commercial in China.
Whoever gave you this silly video sucks, they mislead you.
It would've been better if you just watched the whole interview, Pierre Burton interview with him is the only interview we have of him.

The ping pong game scene is not the real Bruce Lee, notice the short legs, flat chest and bad hair style.
