ya well I feel sorry for people like him who think they are so smart and so cool because they are celebrities. The guy is really trash, he even tries to make advertisement of his "The Office" DVD on a charity event, that's really vanity to the extreme.
I feel sorry for the people that don’t see his fantasies being played out on screen disguised as ironic cockyness. The guy is a great entertainment but also incredibly annoying and narcissistic. Karl, Steve, and Ricky’s entire subreddit can attest to that.

@Hoyatas It's a different type of comedy, so of course most americans won't be used to it at all.
In his intro, who is Ricky Gervais making fun of? HIMSELF. He is "in character" as "the ignoramus" who doesn't understand that he is a b-list celebrity or that it is not socially acceptable to be that pompous. But that is a comic character. If the real Ricky didn't know those things, it wouldn't be funny.
