I kinda wish someone had mashed this and "There's A Melody Playing" as one song since the premise of the episode was the Misfits using Jem's stolen music with new lyrics.
I remember the 80s; 1st grade 8am Jem and The Holograms along with my other soap operas That’s what she was trying to tell me when I took my first California Achievement Test. I was the best in my school at that time. I should have ran away to California and made it big.
Stormer's synth served a multitude of uses :) Though as others have noted, The Misfits are perhaps the only rock group in history to have a saxophonist, but no drummer. (The recent comics made Roxy their drummer, which makes a LOT of sense to me)
Why would they steal a song from the holograms? They have completely different styles, or at least they are supposed to, and they don't even like the holograms music. And wouldn't the holograms still have the sheet music? There's no way they wouldn't get sued for this.

They didn't steal the lyrics just the music. So it's still Stormers words
Aja, Kimber, Shana, and Starlight Music did all the grunt work. All the Misfits had to do was write their song and sing it.
