I really believed in WAZE in the old days. It was a true & honest app that allowed for sharing of information between drivers and from what I could garner, had no hidden agenda. The day the music died for me was when they were bought by GOOGLE.
I agree that there may be a small safety concern about criminals using this app to help them avoid police, but I also am a firm, loyal believer of the constitution and freedom of speech and voice my observations. Not every wazer is a criminal
Great idea...but it has one fatal flaw. Human beings. And human beings are inherently stupid, selfish, and dangerous. What has been built to protect people from others that will take advantage of this service for nefarious acts?
It wouldn't be to your benefit to do this. This is not meant as a way to make money. I do this daily and you only get paid (0.545 * shared miles) / number of people in your carpool including you. So 10 miles shared between you and someone else is $2.72. is that worth 20 - 30 minutes of your time?

the drivers gets paid in gas money, for giving someone a ride, on the way to where the driver is already going. What's wrong with unregulated transactions. There is a risk in whatever service you put your money in. This idea is interesting, but I don't trust the company. It seems like another ploy to get less and less people driving. That seems like a slippery slope to driverless cars and less independence in the long run.

Google/Waze is only offering this to some companies as a pilot. I hope they stick to this approach and talk to other companies like Bank of America.
