Finally someone shows how to harvest garlic scapes. Just in time, as mine will scape anyway now. Thank you. Now I can harvest correctly as well as a new yummy way to eat them

Wow, that was a great video. I don't think this vlogger answers but maybe those watching can answer a few questions I have. I am assuming that these are bulb garlic plants. She is removing the scapes and is making some great stuff with them. Why does she cut in and then bend the stems of these plants? Is it to force the plant to focus on putting all the energy left into the bulb? I grow garlic and remove the scapes but here in Canada I have never seen someone bend the stems down when they are still so green. Is it because if they don't do this the plant will just keep growing and growing? They are so fat and healthy, I wish mine would get so big. One of the things I love about all these videos is how verdant it is in parts of China and how big everything can grow.
Sorry I don't have the answer. Yes please I would like to know this too, please would anyone who knows tell us. Perhaps taking the scape out all the way down stops any energy going into that part but it seems a bit drastic does the bulb keep growing or stop at this point? Thank you

Can anyone explain what is happening in the videos when the scapes were cut off? I can’t tell what was done to the the garlic greens when the scapes are removed. What is done to the plant at that time with that cutting and what that does to help or benefit the plant.
