I loved these guys! It's a real pity the sound got so distorted whenever my guitar went to the "dirty channel" for low chords ...God Bless Burke, Steve Williams and Paul Cox! Such lovely lovely people and dear friends to this day and I will miss Burke every day! They wanted a more "modern" guitar approach and Budgie and Dio did a concert in 2005 and they remembered me from that and they simply wanted me to fill in for a short time until they found a new member and Burke asked for me for this tour to and each and every other tour in which to bring a more "modern sound"....we had a great time and we really loved being in a band together.....in fact we were writting for a new album called "Hybrid" but our dear Burke passed way too soon! we were all so close and I had the best time with them! I miss them terribly!! I must say that anyone with a problem with my guitar approach to these songs you really need to take those still left behind and give them grief if you must. I did what they asked me to do!!
think the problem is people want to hear how the songs on the album sound, not something different, JT songs sounded great when JT did his albums , but again he did his spin on Tonys guitar work, im sure if that album came out it would have been great as it would have been your guitar playing. (how far did that album get,did any song get recorded?)
RIP Burke. Only saw Budgie once in Edinburgh in around 2006/7. Wore my tshirt with pride for years afterwards. A truly underrated band. One of the greats.
Being from San Antonio Tx, the late great JOE Anthony i know is Rockin Out listening to these guys..They were truly one of this city's favorites. We loved Budgie and we loved Joe Anthony. What a fabulous band ! San Antonio and Budgie ,what a combination...

This is still a big world. I have never been able to see Budgie live because they just didn't make to the US that much, and when they did it was always Texas. Now since Burke Shelley has passed this is the 2nd full show I've seen. Thank you so much. Great sound...great video. And I think Goaldy shredded it on "Parents".
Nie słuchałem jeszcze koncertu o tak fatalnym nagłośnieniu. Nawet tych najgorszych dało się słuchać - tego nie! A co do Budgie - najlepszy zespół rockowy tamtych lat. Zacząłem słuchać go jeszcze w siódmej klasie podstawówki i grałem bodaj wszystkie ich kawałki - poza Parents - tego tylko słuchałem z największym namaszczeniem. Teraz mam 63 lata i do dziś uważam, że właśnie ten zespół wpłynął i na moje granie, i gust muzyczny, najbardziej. Słucham i Satrianiego, Vaia, Van Halen, Claptona, bluesa, metalu, gitary klasycznej (też gram i to)...ale Budgie to moja pierwsza miłość a tego sie nie zapomina. Moja wdzięczność DOZGONNA! Najlepszy zespół z najgorszym impresario!!!

Went to a Heaven and Hell concert in San Francisco just before RJD passed, wore a BUDGIE T -shirt that night. I got more comments on that shirt. Everyone had nothing but good things to say about BUDGIE. They were truly one of the pioneers of Hard Rock. And yes, they were a very under rated band. I know they were huge here in the Alamo City...

To me budgie is the most underrated band in Rock history no doubt about it they produce great music it's a shame they never got huge like they should have been...
I bought their first 6 studio albums as they came out, still got them, and still listening to the CD's in my car. Unfortunately I don't think much of them live ( sorry guys).... can't hear Burks brilliant bass rifs.
Impossible to listen to just one Budgie song, be careful because before you know it it will morning and time to go to work. And they'll be in your head all day!
Craig Goldy a great guitar player. Fabulous. ...and a great effort to keep Budgie flying here. But?.....not for Budgie. The guitar stylings of Bourge relate more to a guitarist of different techniques and effects like say.... Tim Sult of "Clutch". Anyway....Budgie is All at Sea now and R.I.P. Burke Shelley Thank you.
Quite right...Tony Bourge was the vital to the music and central in the writing..!! The guys who followed were good at guitar pyrotechnics but the feel was very different..!!..The first five albums will stand forever...!¡! Luckily saw them several times here in UK West Country..!!!

Ja też! Przyleciałem, na tzw. lewiznę, wojska, żeby ich zobaczyć. Nie udało mi się natomiast zobaczyć Slade, mniej więcej, w tym samym czasie.🙄

Slade w oryginalnym składzie zagrało w Polsce w 1978. Byłem w Szczecinie i to był mój 1 koncert ever.
