Chris Roman the main problem I have is that it still doesn’t feel like halo. Any long time halo fan can see that, though it just might be my inner fan boy of bungie halo coming out. It’s hard to explain but halo always had a feeling too it as in this feels like halo where as I don’t feel that here. I don’t know if what I’m saying makes sense.
Seeing that texture pop In was unexpected honestly , I didn't think we would ever see that In videogames again after talking up both consoles SSD to high heaven.
I didn't see any pop In with PS5 games so far , so at least the hype behind Sony's SSD was real and It's proving It's Importance more than 12tflops.

That's an issue in itself. The game releases in 3 months, which means it will have to go GOLD in 2 and a half months.
The fact that they couldn't show it running on an XSX, with all the bells and whistles at this late stage, should spell danger. The fact that we're just getting a gameplay trailer with tons of pop in, sterile looking animations, bland character models, and enemy faces that look like something out of the 360 era should be concerning.
It being a much larger map and 60fps, does help the feel, but the game looks like something that should have come out at the start of the X1 generation. It looks like an X1 game that got XSX enhanced. It's bad

What happened to you guys? It's Halo circa 2000 (just bigger) - and now with hooks to a game-as-service backbone.Let's just see how this falls out.. I just have lots of Anthem/Destiny game-as-service season pass vibes to it. They've all but admitted this campaign is a stop-gap before they open up the new stories on this engine (aka DLC).

Ghost of Tsushima is actual gen and has better graphics. Organic grass blowing by the wind. Halo has static gras and clouds that disappear in front of our eyes.

Tbh, I thought Horizon2 wasn't up to par until I watched the 4K trailer afterwards (even tho it is a 30fps game) my thoughts changed afterwards.
I was thinking Halo was lookin decent, not great... until I watched it in 4K 60. Game looks fuckin flawless.
And it is reaching to the old vibe while also completely reimagining Halo in Infinite... just like God of War.
jeff meyer tim initially said he wanted a GoW style reimagining of the franchise and this is not that. It’s just a bit more open and there’s a grappling hook.

Halo Infinite feels like Combat Evolved 2, and thats exactly what I wanted from a Halo Campaign.

It’s obvious that’s what 343 is going for but at the same time there are some aspects like the dialogue and some of the world design that remind me a bit too much of halo 4 and 5 and have me a little worried. Thankfully, besides sprint coming back, the gameplay looked like a good return to the basics and fundamentals of Halo. Without a doubt though, it looks like a massive step in the right direction for 343, so I’m hoping for the best.

Honestly, the PS5 presentation, felt like we are moving into the next-gen... this just felt like a general game presentation. It wasn't bad, it wasn't great... it was just okay. If this happened 3 years ago, I wouldn't be surprised.
Because this wasn't about XBSX... it was about Game Pass.
I call BS on that. I saw maybe 2 games that looked next gen in their presentation (Kena and Horizon). The rest looked like everything else out right now. In any case, the graphics aren't what make a game great.

Sure, in hindsight the graphics for Infinite isn't super next gen. It can run on hardware from 2013 afterall.
The game still looks great in motion though and the more open world style with smooth 60 fps and a good art style saves it for me.

No lie I game on the Xbox ecosystem hard body. That Xbox game showcase was lack luster. My backlog for my Xbox one is crazy but I also play PS4 exclusives. Right after the showcase I made me a strong drink, turned on my PS4 pro and played Ghost of Tsushima. Best news was Dragon Quest XI S coming to Xbox.......heard news and instantly mad air punches because I just put 50 hours into the PS4 version.😂😂😂😂

I'm pretty sure DQ S version will be also available for PS4/PS5 . Square Enix won't invest the time and money to sell only a couple hundred more copies in the West and none on Japan .

Everyone be saying halo looks "alright" but what they don't remember is that they are using a new engine, new artstyle and the gameplay has change quite a bit from previous halo games, we see innovation all throughout the demo, including a grappling hook, new weapons, new grenades, new enemies, and they provided for the community by removing features we didn't like in previous halo games, for example, they removed ADS and made halo unique again, removed armour abilities like ground pounding and Spartan charging. I say they are taking a step in the right direction. Also all the new IPs look fun, I'm most excited for The Medium and Everwild
The issue is those innovations are new for halo but not very new for gaming. This game just screams that it was supposed to come out earlier, if so people wouldn’t complain as much about the game not looking nextgen enough

Whatever they are doing, its been such a disaster since the reveal, the game is delayed now. The older build excuse DOES NOT WORK anymore.

Remember Game Pass. All main show games (minus CrossfireX campaign I believe) come to Game Pass day 1. Still a great value.
As we can clearly see halo infinite looks like it was held back because them trynna make it run on the old xbox also. Ghost of tsushima looks more like a actual next gen game then this.

Ghost of Tsushima and Last of us Part 2 on PS4 look way better than Halo on Next Gen. Just being honest here. I have nothing against XBOX. In going to get one when it comes out. Just the quality on Playstation is way better

Other than you're memory of Fable.... what was there that excited you about this reveal? To me, it could have been just about any game. Hell, I still don't even know if it's a re-boot/re-master.

@@AdelaideBen1 Yeah, that's why it's called a 'teaser trailer'. To make people aware that it's in development. I honestly don't know what people expect from shows like this anymore. "All gameplay all the time" for a new console that's not even out yet is not feasible, yet people seem to think that's what it should be. Just knowing a game I've wanted for years is in development is enough for me right now. I'm happy to wait for details. I don't need everything right now.
sj4iy I agree that these conferences can reflectively run these teasers... but I also think on the flip side people shouldn’t get that excited. There’s way too many cinematic trailers... then again, I also don’t necessarily think some games need gameplay as much (assassin creed games are pretty well Samei for the most part). But for a conference that should show the reason to upgrade, you’d think they’d want to demonstrate the value add. My take is this wasn’t an XBox conference... it turned out to be a Game Pass conference.
I wanted more gameplay from the games! Def fable but it’s probably far off! We get halo for now but what else!!

I was expecting Halo Infinite will blow me away like Destiny 1 first gameplay demo, but it was such huge disappointment I'm actually confused they decided to show it.
The only Xbox I've ever owned was the 360. I keep waiting for a good enough line up that'll get me to pick up another Microsoft console, but between my PS4 and Switch and all of my retro consoles I just can't invest in what they're selling. My backlog is bad enough as it is and nothing I've seen here grabs me enough to make that problem even worse for myself.
Halo gameplay visually looks very unimpressive and simplistic for a 2020 game. I am neither Sony or Xbox fanboy, I play on PC.
FINALLY Halo is supposed to look simple like 1-3 I hated the H4-H5 design and aesthetics this is such a nice style I love it

But seriously, why do people always forget that new consoles always start off with cross-gen games that don't show off the full power of the hardware yet?
Graphically I found it disappointing, but maybe there going for fps boosts instead of graphic quality? I'm not into first person shooters, so didn't appeal to me anyway.
@@stumpjumper_ste MS needed to show Halo with Ray Tracing . Guarantee this mode will be available at launch . For at least justify XSS owners they are getting new tech to show their system .
But I heard this mode will be 1440p to allow running at 60 FPS w/ RT . They might fear viewers mocking lower resolutions on this presentation .
Additionally , they would had benefit of showing online multiplayer . Show how easily the system can do 120 FPS . As I heard this mode will be dynamic 4K / 120 FPS no RT .
Did you guys watch something different then I did with Halo? I saw lots of pop in, very flat textures on character models, pop in/poor foliage textures etc. Beautiful is definitely not how I would describe it. I was pumped when I initially saw Master Chief....that quickly faded away. This show was very poor as far as I’m concerned. Little to no gameplay as well.
Honestly Halo 3 looked better when we got the first gameplay, and that was in 480p online

@@RoaringTide Ten years old? Nah. That was deliberate..too many of the Halo fanbsse disliked the hyper detailed look of four and five. They intentionally rolled the look back.
@@Scarran The thing is, it's possible to have a cartoony style WHILE having good-quality visuals at the same time. Look at games like Overwatch or Breath of the Wild. They're not hyper realistic or detailed, but they also don't have the rough edges that a game from a prior gen might have.

Halos resolution that I watched on my TV wasn't happening on a 360.

That Halo trailer has confirmed my continuous doubt over 343 handling the IP, outside of the potentially revived sandbox gameplay. I hope it comes together - I've been playing through all the Halo games after picking up the MCC Collection and that's been nice, but everything 343 has done (from 4 up to now) has been poorly conceived.
I was super excited for this and dang it was underwhelming. Halo looks soo dated but maybe it being openish will help. Most excited for Fable but what was shown was a bummer.

Its refreshing to watch people who are actually excited for new games, not just trying to pick everything apart and critique the minute detail. So much negativity around an entertainment medium.
It's a new generation it makes sense for people to have expectations.

I had the exact same thoughts about Shadowfall, it's a 7 year old game and even THAT looks better than this.

Saw this with the KF best friends during my bday! I personally really liked halo, doesn't look like the biggest innovation in gaming it just looks like a really fun game in my opinion. The rest was a bit underwhelming but still fun to watch. I have high hopes for that new fable.

Great Game Pass event. A handful of games look interesting. A majority I will only play because they are on game pass.
It does nothing to convince anyone to buy a SX. If you have a semi decent PC and game pass there is literally no reason to own a MS console.
Think I'll stick to PC and pick up a PS5 for console gaming exclusives 🤷♂️

Looks like someone accidentally used the Halo 3 backwards compatibility footage. I'm sure there will be a real showing of Infinite in the coming months before XSX releases.

Just want to give a shout out to all of the people that were upset about people review bombing TLOU2 on metacritic because people didn't agree with their opinion of the game and are now doing the same thing with this Xbox Conference.
This channel is really needing a voice which doesn't just agree with everyone and calls it how it is (even if it may be controversial and piss people off). Every one is stoked and excited for everything even when it doesn't even look that great. I don't know if it's because they don't want to hurt their relations with developers or what.
I can't wait for Infinite. Besides that, not much gameplay was shown. Avowed looks cool.
Do we know how open world Halo is? For me, a big part of the first few games was how iconic each individual level is, and how they're all distinct. I'm worried it's going to feel very samey, especially if you're going through the same area multiple times?
This is my exact fear. I think people miss how certain devs put a lot of thought into how to design a specific space and that's not as easy or even possible at times when dealing with an open world. It's the same fear I have with the rumor From Software's new game will be open world.
I was really hoping for something big to blow my mind and make me consider getting a series x over ps5, but that was amazingly meh and last gen. When you can get all this on PC, it doesn’t matter.

I think the whole point of this conference was not for the series x. It was for Xbox games. All those games (some console exclusive for now) will come out on PC. It’s pretty obvious that Microsoft doesn’t care if you don’t buy the series x. Software is the money maker not hardware.
Ernesto Sanchez for sure, I get that. It just seems that, even software-wise, it’s just a small iteration. They won’t be able to do creative things with the ssd because they will be beholden to the entire ecosystem. But that does work when you consider gamepass as a central pillar in their approach.
@@Trevbot91 I think in regards to the SSD most PCs use an SSD instead of a Hard Drive. I think we'll start seeing minimum specs in the future include minimum ssd speeds along with minimum GPU's etc.

Crash Gaming nobody thinks it looks good. But they know they can get traffic this way. I know there is a concerted effort amongst some channels to make it appear that Microsoft is competing. They want them to so bad. But they really can’t no more. No more wait til e3 they finished
Halo Infinite, Everwild, and Fable are all that really interested me and we knew about all three of those before today. Obsidian's game might be good for those who like those kinda games. Eh... I definitely wasn't blown away by this. I'll probably just get the PS5 solo for a while and play those games on my Xbox One or PC
Fable PC and Series X tags only, so that game is atleast 2+ years out. Since MS said the One would get all titles for 1-2 years

Halo infinite looks like a great current gen game. Should of been marketed for the xbox one x and not for the series x because if that's what next gen is for xbox then I will be leaving it in the dust.

Lot of talk since this came out about how we all need to start thinking differently about the Xbox strategy; that it's middle of the road and no longer directly competing with Sony, similar to Nintendo's post-Gamecube strategy.
That's a fine strategy, but if it's true then Xbox needs to start telegraphing that better to consumers, and also needs to not lower the quality of, what used to be, top-of-the-line IP that competed directly with the best games, titles like Halo and Gears that pushed the medium forward in their time. If you're dedicated to smaller experiences, probably best to make that commitment with fresh titles that carry no baggage.
All I know is I’m keeping Game Pass for next gen!

@@razvanzamfir1545 A think a lot were just launch exclusive. It's hard to tell but my bet is it'll be a repeat of a few years ago when it slowly comes out they're basically paid timed exclusives but this time for the console's launch.
The levels in Halo look straight out of the original Xbox think the devs need to take a leap out of God of War they changed the gameplay and style up and went for a more realistic game as they had more power to play with. Halo on the other hand is still the same game think the first couple of Halos looked and played a certain way because of the console limitations. Killzone isn't the greatest franchise but there gamplay (sort of) and level design would have been better for Halo. Hard to explain.
They added a grappling hook, removed ADS, changed the artstyle, made it an open world, added new weapons, new grenades, added new enemies, added a world map, and changed weapon design and your telling me that it looks dated and didnt add new gameplay mechs

New Fable is exciting and was very hyped beforehand to see Halo Infinite, though now I have seen gameplay, considerably less excited 🙁

Doesn't really do anything for me to get a Series X on launch, but there are games I'm excited about to get me to eventually buy a Series X with a Gamepass Subscription. Halo Infinite, Avowed, Fable. To be fair, PS5 didn't have many games I was interested in either, but I'm more likely to get a PS5 first due to Spider-Man and Horizon. Other games from that stream that looked interesting were Deathloop and Athia, not a whole lot more. Pretty meh on both fronts IMO
It'd be nice if Fable had a graphics style similar to Ghost of Tsushima, a fantastical setting that looks realistic with human character models that have human proportions, not Sea of Thieves type character models.

I was expecting detailed worlds like in Titanfall 2 or Destiny 2 for Halo Infinite.
Alot of people here seem to misunderstand what 'next gen' looks like. We're not getting some major graphical enhancement (other than ray tracing) like previous generations, we're not there yet.
Halo looks fine, the issue i have is it lacks a bold style, it doesnt stand out in a crowd of fps games when it should. It should be striking to look at, like gow, horizon or got (yes i own a ps4), but it comes across a bit bland. I dont necessarily think they should have reinvented the wheel with it but injecting a bit more flavour to it couldve seriously turned some heads. Im sure the fans will love it but i dont expect it will bring in much of a new audience based on that demo. I'll give it a shot on gamepass but doesnt look like the killer app for xbox anymore, hellblade will be the one to watch but i guess we're 3 years away from that atleast now theyve said its in unreal 5 haha
This next gen is more about Ray Tracing and dynamic illumination in general . About better physics and particle effects . About better audio . About showing how short are loading times . About no more pop - ups and jittering . And more . Most of these are not as easy to show .
MS presentation had to prove why people needs to jump to this new generation . For One owners there is little incentive . As almost all can be played on their systems . For new clients , the main selling point is Game Pass . This potential buyers had no many incentive to get a XSX if a Series S is available . As they will get almost the same content .

Yea its kinda easy to see guys..........that halo footage was extremely underwhelming.
After playing Ghost of Tsushima, this world looks so dead. Ghost of Tsushima world visually felt like it has a atmosphere. Volumetric lighting through dense air, wind moving trees and grass. That should be common place for a next gen flagship open world title.
God damn even BOTW on Switch has a world that felt like it had an atmosphere with wind making the world move.
The world is so still on this gameplay demo.

After rewatching the Xbox showcase I’m going to give it a 8 out of 10 the games that are coming to game pass once they are released are a steal instead of paying $60 each game.I liked the halo infinite gameplay as a game that is not finished looked damn good minus some fine tuning needed but if that game comes out looking like that this showcase falls to a 7 out of 10. Because halo infinite is suppose to show off this all powerful console and if I get something I can on my Xbox one now that would be disappointment.But other then that I’m exited to see what will have for us in August .
Tbh the show was decent. Felt about the same as the PS5 event in terms of getting me hyped for next gen. Some great, some good, some mid. Both needed more gameplay shown

The games I'm most excited about are State of Decay 3 and Fable. By the time those games come out, the Series X will cost less than at launch. I didn't see any games which were, day one, system sellers. The emphasis on cross generational titles has me a bit worried about the next generation. I'm not sure how much of an advancement it will be.
I suppose I may be an outlier within the KF community, but I thought there were some good games in there. As a multi-console gamer, I’m all in for game pass.

Honestly, the big game for me was Psychonauts 2. Then I realized it wasn't an Xbox exclusive lol My fav trailer by far tho was Everwild and we only saw 2 seconds of gameplay. this really didn't do much to pique my interest. at this rate, I can't see getting an SX until 2025 if ever tbh.
The only games that looked interesting to me were Avowed and The Medium. Overall very disappointed by this conference, they needed to outdo PS5 showcase and they honestly came nowhere close.
The hype will be around Halo and Fable but as someone who doesn’t care much for First Person Shooters that doesn’t do much for me personally. Fable is more exciting but nothing shown.
I just feel like their other first party studio games didn’t have interesting premises and some graphically looked downright precious gen, I imagine that’s cause they are early stages. I hope Xbox gamers are happy with what was shown but personally this didn’t do much to entice me into buying this as a second console or switching.
I didn't find the PS5 showcase to be anything special. Both shows were about equal in my eyes
