Roger embodies the perfect king of old times. He gracefully accepted that he wasn't the "chosen one" and happily gave his life to inspire the new generation in hopes on inspiring the one who would go on to change the world. I bet Roger would have been happy to know that the grandson of his greatest rival will be the one who inherited his will. The whole theme of one piece is that your past and ancestry don't matter, you can conquer the world if you have the will for it, for better (luffy) or for worse (Blackbeard). One piece is so much more than a goofy anime about pirates, it's one of the best written stories of all time and luffy is hands down my favorite character in anime. Luffy isn't a hero, for luffy freedom to do whatever he wants is the ultimate reward and luffy will happily die in process of achieving it. God I love one piece so much!!!!!!!!!!
