I love Old Gold for daily use. I tried a sample of RO Heart of Gold and it is as close to liquid gold as you can get with a well-behaved ink. Truly spectacular.
Your comparisons are always spot on. If there is a #2 video may I suggest Robert Oster African Gold, Herbin Ambre de Birmanie, Private Reserve Shoreline Gold, and Teranishi Nostalgic Honey... I may be off but I thought I would throw those shades out there.
Thank you! I try to make the inks comparisons as good as I can, also to try and make the colours as natural so you will see what you will get if you buy them (excluding if inks do change shade between batches).
I have a botte of RO Gold Antiqua, it's a really pleasant ink to use. Dark enough to be legible even in smaller nib sizes and it cleans out easily. I like the tone, even though it might not be a true gold color.
Oh! I think the Robert Oster Aussie Gold is yummy! I agree with you that it does seem to have a hint of shimmer in the writing sample. Maybe "glow" would be a better word for how it appears in the writing sample? Either way, I adore it! Thank you Dave! Lisa
Im looking forva gold ink myself and you mentioned golden sands, i think thats the one i have my eyes set on, i especially like how the golden sands ink also has glitter in it a makes it sparkly.
Favs are definitely Robert Oster Aussie Gold and the Vinta Whiskey Gold. The swatches are helpful, but when you actually write below the swatch-it’s a better test of how the color will look on the page. Thanks!
🙏That Whiskey Gold... 🤩✨🔥👏 Do you know if it's a slick ink that would coat a Japanese F nib well? Have you tried Brandy from the RO Signature Ink Drinks Collection no 1? It looks promising. Whiskey too, though a bit browner than Brandy.
It's a little dry as it's a shimmer ink, it writes nicely in a Bock mediium nib but still I feel it could be a little more lubricated. I haven't tried Brandy from Robert Oster but do have the Diamine Shimmertastic Brandy
Watching your ink comparison videos I've discovered so many different colours and shades... that I can't thank yoy enough! In my opinion KWZ Old Gold and Robert Oster Aussie Gold are "trully" gold colours.
I’ve been wondering if you use shimmer inks since I hadn’t seen one in your ink comparisons that I’ve watched up to this point. Do you dedicate certain pens to shimmer inks or will you ink up any pen in your collection with shimmer if that’s the pen/ink match that’s calling to you?
I do use shimmer inks but not as much as regular inks. As I have a lot of mid to higher range pens, I typically try to keep shimmer inks either in cartridge converter pens or TWSBI's.
RO absolutely misrepresents the Aussie Gold as a "dark gold." I watch a lot of reviews and more often than not the reality of RO inks is radically different from how they are promoted.
The Vinta Whiskey Gold is gorgeous!
what a great comparison, I love gold inks and have never seen a comparison, this was so helpful !!
Glad it was helpful!
Pilot needs to bring back Ina-Ho!
Try Rohrer and Klingner Alt Gold Gruen. It is very close
I agree & tsukushi
@@Oldnose63 I have Alt Goldgruen but I find it greener.
@@francoisbouchart4050 that’s true
I couldn't agree more, we need to start a compaign to bring back Ina-ho!
Thanks, Dave! I couldn't resist and ordered the Vinta Inks Whiskey Gold. It's glorious!
I ordered 3x more bottles myself as I hadn't realised until last week that they had come back in stock at Cult Pens.

Now I am interested in all of these inks. I got the KWZ honey and I like it.

You are so welcome! Glad you have found some nice new colours and shades!
These are my favorite videos. I think I watched the whole archive. 🙈

I really like Robert oster heart of gold.
Yellow is a difficult color. I don't own any of these inks, but they all seem to be quite usable versions of yellow.
