- If you have a rabbit that just had babies, you may be wondering what you need to feed her. It is best to not make any drastic changes to their diet during this time but there are a few things you can do to make sure she is well prepared to take care of her new babies.

I patterned my cage doors after your doors, I continually had the same problems opening mine as you have on the videos, I built 5 new cages with some hinged to the side and a couple hinged at the bottom,,,so far I like the swing to the left or right better because they are out of the way.
Been watching your videos for a couple years, you sharing your knowledge and experiences has spurred my interest, I now have 3 does, 1 NZ black and 2 Calif white with 1 NZ buck black and 1 Calif buck white,,,,had 2 kindles over the weekend from the 2 Calif does so far all 8 are black, red and blue

Though I really wish I knew whats my protein in the feed as it doesn't say. As for as I'm concerned it's sold as a growing feed until 6 days before "its taken to the freezer"

Out of my 24 I wound up with 17, my lion head dwarf was due 19th of Nov and is now nesting, she got bred again last week, what do you think ,I'm guessing a dead baby, what should I do
That isn't too bad of results. Congrats. For the lion head, it sounds like you already re bred her so there isn't much else to do but just wait and see. There is a good chance that she just didn't get pregnant the first time for whatever reason. Good luck on this one.

You should only have to feed them yourself the mother doesn't feed them.

Sure you can. A carrot every once in a while won't hurt anything.

Sure. The supplement I was talking about is called calf manna. If you can't find it, it isn't that important. They will do fine without it. I hope that helps.

I am sorry, I should have said that. There is actually a feeding chart on the website. It is about a tablespoon per day for lactating rabbits. I hope that helps.

I just throw them out. They aren't really good for much because they aren't from older rabbits.
U should but bedding in ur buns house so she won’t get sores under her paws along with other rabbits u have.but great vid
I appreciate your advice but the problem with bedding is that it gets very soiled very quickly with urine and feces and is very unsanitary. I do give my rabbits tiles so they can get off of the wire if they want to but they seldom use them and have no problems with their feet.
It can cause disease and flystrike to have bedding in outdoor rabbit habitats

Wow, that is a lot of babies. If you don't have another mother rabbit that can foster some, you can try to help feed. go to a farm supply store and get a kitten or goat milk replacement formula. it can be a lot of work, but i can be done. I hope that it all works out.
