Defend the Senate | STAR WARS Miniatures, Ep. 001

- A group of Separatist Droids have charged into the courtyard of the Senate, and in response Obi-Wan and and a group of Clone Troopers have been employed to intercept them. Will the Republic be strong enough to withstand this guerrilla attack, or will the Separatists make headway into chipping away at the power structure of the Republic? In this video we are playing a modified version of Star Wars Miniatures by Wizards of the Coast.

Thanks so much, Ralph! This was a really fun battle, and the backdrop really made it great. The stairs are actually a plastic Tech Deck set of "Love Park" that I found at my local secondhand store for a dollar! The fountain in the middle did not look great, once I covered it with lichens and added the orb in the middle, it ended up looking really sweet! :) All the best to you, mate! I hope you are feeling better and holding on in the midst of the pandemic! Keep the hope alive, and play on!
Lots of weird things happening here;
1- When launching a missile, you don't throw a die yourself, it's an automatic hit, the opponents roll an 11 or higher to dodge damage.
2- Not using a single time the “charging fire” ability of the super battle droid is a nonsense
3- The chameleon droid should be backing of after each attack so Obi-Wan can't use multiple attack on him and gets damage from the “mines” ability.
4- Not using cover on every. Single. Occasion by the CIS is a great way to get creamed.

Obi-Wan is so powerful! Great fun watching him kick ass. Definitely should have this same set up with a powerful sith to take him on. Really fun match! Really enjoyed it!

I have gotten really inspired lately to try to make really quality Star Wars Miniatures battle reports with really good 3D terrain. Don't get me wrong, I love the 2D maps. I am thinking about a battle between mercenaries/others over a hidden stash of Adegan crystals that has been discovered in the middle of a cargo yard. Something like that! Thanks so much! Yes, I have been playing solo and it works pretty well. As long as I limit my strategy to the short term and let the randomness of the dice shake things up, the games are actually really exciting and unpredictable! I have also been collecting recently and I just made a huge haul on something like a hundred minis! This means there will be a ton more of this kind of content coming starting in August! Your targeting is wrong, one can only taget characters who have cover if they are the nearest enemy, unless having sniper/accurate shot.
Thanks for the reminder! This game was my first attempt at SWM and I missed a few rules along the way. The cover rule is one I seem to forget in the heat of battle, but I will try to correct för that in the future. Thanks!
