Marina Summer is all I care about this week ❤ this was the best performance from a queen on any of the franchises in a really long time in my opinion

I really enjoyed Plane Jane seminar, the jokes were good and even if was not the most smooth delivery, the slides, themes were the best for me. And Plane Jane seemed more comfortable and confidant than Q. Sapphira and Nymphia were good, but kind of messy to me
In my opinion, as someone who is East Asian, I get where the judges are coming from but I really don’t like how weird they get when Asian queens poke fun of their selves and use stereotypes to help create characters for challenges. It’s giving very much manilas Connie Chung from season 3. What made it very apparent was in the same critique them telling other queens of color to use stereotypes. There are Asian people who do sound like that and to get on a queen who English is not their first language is weird to me

As an Asian Canadian myself, its weird how non-asians feel so awkward and cringe for fear of backlash for laughing at the stereotypes but AS IF Asians don't mock eachother and use these types of jokes within ourselves??
I will say yes you can think 'cmon Nymphia you can do better than that, be more creative' as a critique but Nymphia isn't a cerebral, super witty comedy queen. She's kooky. And I get it, you don't want to be seen as laughing at something and being called ignorant or racist...but its just SO weird how black contestants can fall back on stereotypes and also white contestants can also use white stereotypes. People can rely on low hanging fruit comedy once in a while imo. Why is it lazy/wrong for Nymphia to do that but not lazy when others do it? If you want to say that its inappropriate because then other people of non-Asian descent might use those stereotypes for bad intentions to mock others well so can any other culture that uses their own stereotypes as a fall-back?
The whole editing made it feel like it’s Q’s week. That’s why it was so shocking that Sapphira won.

The guest judge talked about how Sapphira won because Rupaul saw undeniable charisma through her individual performance. I saw it too, but for others it may have been lost in the editing.

The judging on S16 this week was so off it almost seemed like the editors' room was in revolt, because if they wanted us to be ok with THAT outcome, WHY DID THEY SHOW US THE EPISODE THEY SHOWED US?

I was shocked Q or Plane didn't win, I very loudly gay gasped when Sapphira's name was called.
Even though they pulled the "we're judging you as individuals..." I would have given the win to Q, or even Plane. Sapphire was a low 3rd, expecially with her missteps. I even laughed more with Mz Wind. But I had the most laughs and enjoyment with P&Q.

i was gagged as well cause the whole time i had 0 doubt that plane & q were top 2. it might be that their humor skewed more gen-z-esque and therefore didn't really impress the judges? either way i personally only laughed during their skit and nymphia's. sapphira was THE host / mediator of the night though

@@wilfred29 I could see it loosely based on The Bride from the first Koll Bill but a dragged up version. However, I don’t see a direct inspo. The Bride had a basic white wedding dress and a katana in the beginning of the movie. Mrs. Smith also wore a white gown. La Grande’s outfit was sexy, but her guns and swords gave plastic water toys.

I’ve been watching your channel since 2021, and I just wanna say thanks for teaching me more about local drag and drag in general. I just turned 21 a couple months ago, and this week I went to my first drag race watch party and first drag show in DC hosted by Tatianna!! It was an amazing episode to watch with a crowd, and amazing see a drag show in real life and get to tip the queens irl. I got to talk to tatianna for a while too!! She made me feel so comfortable. She introduced me to people, and told me about her first time at a gay bar. It was such a special experience, thank you so much for giving me the confidence to just go by myself

Plane and Q were by far the best, so it is helpful to hear you talk about what you saw that supports the Sapphira win. Makes me feel a bit less annoyed by it. (Still want Sapphira to win - she just felt to me like a clear third place this week)
I was gagged with Alvildas bottom she should of won, like when Dakota Schiffer went home for having the best makeover
I didn't get the drag family specifically mother/daughter from it,so the judges were correct,but truly Gabanna and LouLou should have been bottom two.
if u noticed, they put an odd music in the background of q&jane's panel, and they cut to queens being awkward, i didn't understand why they did this until the end when they weren't even in the top even though they got all great critiques.
reminded me a lot of latrice on all stars 4 getting all the shady sound effects making her seem more villainous than she really was.
Choriza did a show with Sasha Velour in Newcastle over the weekend, and apparently she told the audience that her outfit for this week’s runway didn’t arrive in time, so she had to put together a new look at the last minute.
Also Scarlet was half right about Strictly Come Dancing. It’s a celebrity reboot of a BBC show called ‘Come Dancing’ that first aired in 1950, and the title didn’t have sexual connotations back then. The ‘Strictly’ part was an attempt to cash in on the popularity of Baz Lurhman’s Strictly Ballroom (even though the show was first broadcast a decade after the movie was released). I personally always thought it was an awful title.

Sapphira was a great host but fumbled. Nymphia made me laugh the most, had the best runway, and best individual performance - should’ve won. IHonestly, Q and Plane were good but not the best. But what’s weird to me is that why did they edited it that way? They emphasized on Sapphira’s fumble and only showed funny bits from Q and Plane’s set.
With Sapphira’s outfit, my only gripe was there the skirt started because it made her legs look so tiny.

I was absolutely gagged by the UKvTW lip sync song! I never thought that we would have an Agnes song on the show!
I think Plane could've maybe won over Sapphira but Q was a stretch, I agree she's still doing her brick character she's just yelling, although her runway was incredible.
I don’t think enough people are giving Sapphira credit for how she entered the challenge. She literally redirected the focus and energy off of Dawn/Mhiyas fail. She did have some flubs but like Kylie she gracefully got past them and did not call any attention to it. I did like PJ’s and Q’s, but it seemed to plataeu in the middle after the slide bit. It was the same type of humor back to back.
If you look up when Barbara wore that outfit she was horrified that it was See through in the back.
Nymphia was giving me very season 3 Manila in the challenge.
Strictly Come Dancing is a combination of the original BBC ballroom dancing show from the 70s called Come Dancing and the film Strictly Ballroom (which if you don't know gets you definite docked gay points). It's also the original show that all the other franchises spun off from, so Dancing With The Stars is the US version of Strictly Come Dancing if we're being pedantic about it
The delusion that Hannah's outfit was better than anyone's other than Choriza's is strong though

If the challenge was judged as teams, then Plane and Q could’ve had a double win. But if it was a solo win, I think it should’ve gone to Sapphira or even Nymphia.
Nymphia was hilarious, no idea why Asians constantly get the discussion about wether the stereotype typed accent Is ‘appropriate’ or not, when so many queens lean into stereotypes about their race / culture for comedy on drag race….
I thought Q and Plane were the only ones not being boring AF during the challenge. Clear winners for me.

The rumours here in Australia that I’ve been hearing are that we are going to get a Queen as a regular or semi-regular on the DownUnder judging panel now that Michelle’s going to be the host - some people are saying Courtney Act but I can’t see that personally as she is under contract here with our ABC network. The other name being thrown around is Art Simone which I think is more likely

I am from the 80's and I can tell you that Dawn IS really 80's underground, but true it was missing pins, but I loved it! Also, Saffira was very pop culture 80's.
Bottom line Sapphira should not have won at all!!! It Either should have been Plane: Who did great and didn’t mess up. Nymphia: For stepping out, being hilarious, giving us something new on the runway and not messing up (and no Morphine fully interrupting is not messing up) or Q: For doing objectively the best, coming up with most of the ideas, sharing her story and NOT MESSING UP!!!

Michelle consistently gives Q a lot of credit being a theater kid and Michelle has all this confidence in her abilities to play a character. I’m always confused with this as she’s said it a couple of times this season. I would get her saying she has confidence in her abilities as a designer and seamstress, but I don’t see Q as a stellar character actor.
The only jokes from the challenge I remember are Plane Janes, I was really confused when Sapphira won.
I love Hannah as our hometown hero repping Australia, but its literally Marinas season!!! Marina should have taken out her original season but I'm happy she is shining in UK vs World.
I completely forgot about Belgium if it wasn't for you guys I wouldn't even know that the season was airing. I guess having 2 behemoths of a season like drag race season 16 and uk vs the world airing as the same time doesn't favor Belgium at all I feel sorry for the queens, having to do so so so much work just to get overshadowed by the other 2 it's not good I hope in the future they fix that

In an ideal world, with no beefs between WOW and the queens, the Down Under host should have been Courtney.
The cape moment was ballroom and if you watched Legendary, you’ll get the reference.
Worst look was Morphine for me. That was Romi and Michelle with her ass hanging out, which didn’t give me 80s anything. The problem with the category was that it was 1980 specifically. The looks we think of as 80s didn’t really happen until the mid 80s. AIDS wasn’t a thing in 1980. Keith Haring wasn’t known in 1980. 1980 would have been late disco, punk, and the beginning of new wave. So if you’re going by the year specifically, most of these looks were a fail. The theme should have been Drag Con 1985 or 88. That would have been a more distinctive 80s fashion era.
It broke my heart seeing Scarlet have 1 win and Tia having 3 wins when the stat chart came up. Tia should've had 1 win and Scarlet should've had Tia's 2 wins making Scarlet have 3 wins tied with Marina. Marina and Scarlet both dominated this season.

I think Marina will be voted out next week. Tia and Hannah will be the top two, and everyone else will be in the bottom. Tia will then go into the finale with four wins and two badges, Hannah will have three wins and no badges, TGD will have two wins and one badge and Scarlet will have a single win and one badge.
i was also thinking this. marina kinda should've eliminated scarlet instead, just so that she doesn't get eliminated at top 5. then, if choriza flops, she would be the one to go due to track record, and if she wins, she would save marina (of course that's not 100% but i feel like it would've strengthened marina's chances). going from top 6 to top 5 is always crucial on all stars because of the "if you're not in the top, you're in the bottom", and you don't wanna get a target on your back at top 6 by winning just to get in the bottom in the semi finals. really hoping marina pulls through though, it definitely feels like her season.

Thank GOD. As a Kiwi myself, TVNZ is getting budget cuts left and right, they could barely manage the franchise as is. Filming in Aus under a different network will be so good for the series

I love BenDeLaCreme but I disagreed with her girl group win as she also got critiques in that episode for almost falling
I think if you have a stumble like that yes it makes you human. But I think in a challenge like this where you are 100% prepared beforehand it’s not improv everything was planned that messing up your line is a big no no.
She was funny though and I think she should have won other challenges before now so suppose it balances out.
But I think for the challenge it should have been judged as teams and this Q and Plane should have won.
Tbh I found all pretty ok to above average. And Plane and Q clearly were most prepared and had mostly hits.
I was surprised they didn’t get the joint win. Plus based on laughs they got the most laughs. I do agree with Q with this one I would be pressed too.
If anything it could have been a 3 way win because no one was stand out the best and thus I don’t think anyone deserved to classed as the overall winner. Plus Qs look was stunning and did fit the brief because the aids crisis was at its worst in the 80s and 90s so it’s fair to go to that type of look and message is great we need this representation for those getting diagnoses still to this day.

I think the reason Sapphira was picked is because Rupaul has always loved a queen that shows improvement ( insert clip of Kylie tripping). She messed up and recovered well plus her outfit was killer! In terms of Dawn's outfit it was very punk to me! Did it scream 80's not really but it was unique in her own style.

Disagree with your opinions on Sapphira’s win, but I can see where you’re coming from. I think Q and Plane did better and were more consistent and Sapphira’s fumble was too much of a focal point by production/ editing to support a win. I like to look at it from a “what did production want us to see/ think” and it was clear Q and Plane did better than the others. I almost think they did this so that people would get upset and it would drive up online discussion and viewership . It is a money making business first and a competition/ queer platform second.

Loulou did better than Alvida in that lip sync, right? I was concerned that Alvida was not expressing as much in the face as Loulou, with her mouth not really over-emoting for the back of the room like she should be doing.

For every season there is of course a narrator, but I was thinking: Is there someone in every season who always pushes stories and drama foward? It's probably not always the villian. Would love to know your oppinions on that😊❤
(Examples in my oppinion would be Willam, Alyssa, Kandy, Melinda and Plane, all polarising, but maybe not always the "villian" 💁🏽♂️)
