that is a good question . i can't figure out what equipment he needs to get through them though . its not crop land at least not what they showed in this story . the county still seems to be harassing him though . if they won't keep the cattle guards clean that they forced on him so they work properly then he should win this in federal court .
The county should easily be able to show that they have installed cattle guards in a similar manner and that the purchase of the cattle guards by private citizens. If not, there should be a massive fine against the county government for all the lost business with an additional massive punitive fine. It's also obvious that the installation of these cattle guards is not for safety because the county apparently refuses to maintain the ones already in place while continuously adding new ones.

I had my first large lawsuit against the NM Department of Transportation for allowing the cattle guards to fill up and allow cattle to wander across it into the interstate causing a serious accident injuring my client. NM Dept. of Transportation settled for maximum dollars under the law.

I'd say the county accepted the responsibility with all the cattle guards they put in place. A private fence on private property would do a lot better than anything the government could do especially since they were taking down fences for some reason

The King Ranch is one of the largest ranches in the country. Strangely enough when the KR wanted a property but the owner refused to sell, the owner would mysteriously turn up dead. Something's a bit fishy about those situations too if you ask me. Greed leads to evil. That's probably why it's called one of the deadly sins. Yes, the King Ranch is probably one of the largest and most successful of any ranch in the United States. They have bred and raised some of the best quarter horses in the world….I think KR and another ranch in Oklahoma pretty much developed the American quarter horse breed standing the best QH stallions in the world. King Ranch also has two Kentucky derby winners to their credit….one of them was a triple crown winner back in the 1940s…his name was Assault. For a ranch to successfully breed and raise the quality of thoroughbreds and American Quarter horses, and cows the King Ranch has is amazing. That ranch just keeps going and going. I would love to be able to afford to buy a quarter horse from them…..the bloodlines their horses possess is phenomenal.

We have the exact same problem of a family who's trying to push into our family land in Guerra, TX. The county is Jim Hogg. The land which my parents currently reside in and try to raise livestock is constantly met with conflict from descendants of non family members who were associated with our family line a few generations ago. Two of the men always try to claim that they are law enforcement but aren't and threaten our family and contractors when on our own land. They leave our cattle gates open and a few times already our cattle have been confiscated as "outlaw" as these thieves wait to claim from the county. It's a big mess that my parents deal with on the daily basis and I try to assist with my limited time on the property.
Thank goodness TX doesn't have BLM land, like NM. Our forefathers were very wise to have prevented that. I understand the former family member trespasser issue quite well. Been there, done that, got the tee-shirt. My sympathies.

This reminds me of when the city of Lehi, Utah tapped into my families underground well we bought back in the '60s. For years we could use up to 10-12 or more of the 3 inch metal siphons, starting in 2012 we still used about 8 or so, 2014 we could only use about 4-5 and in 2016 it was only 1 metal siphon with x2 1 inch plastic siphons...... I really hope these men get they're government to respect what they own because it's happening to much. We all knew this would happen, the longer time goes on, the more cause untouched land is.

Heck, our county official (and another joining county) "... were indicted on one count each of embezzlement and conspiracy along with two others." Glad to see they went out of county to file charges.

The county should easily be able to show that they have installed cattle guards in a similar manner and that the purchase of the cattle guards by private citizens. If not, there should be a massive fine against the county government for all the lost business with an additional massive punitive fine.
It's also obvious that the installation of these cattle guards is not for safety because the county apparently refuses to maintain the ones already in place while continuously adding new ones.
I was skeptical at first - but the county installing such guards purchased by a long-time private provoker makes conspiracy by the county officials undeniable.

I had my first large lawsuit against the NM Department of Transportation for allowing the cattle guards to fill up and allow cattle to wander across it into the interstate causing a serious accident injuring my client. NM Dept. of Transportation settled for maximum dollars under the law.

I live in rural MO. Had a neighbor come over and try to get me to sign a petition to stop my neighbor from using his gun range. I'd say the county accepted the responsibility with all the cattle guards they put in place. A private fence on private property would do a lot better than anything the government could do especially since they were taking down fences for some reason

The King Ranch is one of the largest ranches in the country. Strangely enough when the KR wanted a property but the owner refused to sell, the owner would mysteriously turn up dead. Something's a bit fishy about those situations too if you ask me.

Yes, the King Ranch is probably one of the largest and most successful of any ranch in the United States. They have bred and raised some of the best quarter horses in the world….I think KR and another ranch in Oklahoma pretty much developed the American quarter horse breed standing the best QH stallions in the world. King Ranch also has two Kentucky derby winners to their credit….one of them was a triple crown winner back in the 1940s…his name was Assault. For a ranch to successfully breed and raise the quality of thoroughbreds and American Quarter horses, and cows the King Ranch has is amazing. That ranch just keeps going and going. I would love to be able to afford to buy a quarter horse from them…..the bloodlines their horses possess is phenomenal.

We have the exact same problem of a family who's trying to push into our family land in Guerra, TX. The county is Jim Hogg. The land which my parents currently reside in and try to raise livestock is constantly met with conflict from descendants of non family members who were associated with our family line a few generations ago. Two of the men always try to claim that they are law enforcement but aren't and threaten our family and contractors when on our own land. They leave our cattle gates open and a few times already our cattle have been confiscated as "outlaw" as these thieves wait to claim from the county. It's a big mess that my parents deal with on the daily basis and I try to assist with my limited time on the property.

Something I learned in my Political Science class: local governments are often FAR more corrupt than state and federal governments, they just have less oversight because most local newspapers have gone under, so you never hear about it and it is never dealt with
Yeah, and people are more likely to vote in state or national elections so less voters need to be swayed, and even when people do vote on local elections, often those races go unopposed so it's not like the one candidate in the race is going to lose...

This reminds me of when the city of Lehi, Utah tapped into my families underground well we bought back in the '60s. For years we could use up to 10-12 or more of the 3 inch metal siphons, starting in 2012 we still used about 8 or so, 2014 we could only use about 4-5 and in 2016 it was only 1 metal siphon with x2 1 inch plastic siphons...... I really hope these men get they're government to respect what they own because it's happening to much. We all knew this would happen, the longer time goes on, the more cause untouched land is.
Why would they make you remove siphons? Less access? To your own water …

Not at all the same, and that's not how water rights work. In Utah, if you have water rights and well on your property, you own the well and the water that the well can pump. YOU DO NOT OWN THE FUCKING AQUIFER!!!!!!!

@@aluisious I've spent my life in prayer and had many answered instantaneously. If you don't pray about it, and the good Lord decides to bless you anyways, you just wouldn't recognize it, so He often waits till you get desperate. But it is stupid for you to wait.

Usually, any county has to allow property owners, and/or community members, to vote on such spending, before doing anything!! I would sue them for way more violations, and it also sounds like their neighbors need to be summoned too!!
Where I live they just don't announce that there is a vote happening to anyone they find unfavorable
What an absolute nightmare for these two rancher brothers. My heart really goes out to them! It makes me angry and sad with compassion thinking about all the wasted time and headaches caused to these men, because of the blatant* tyrannical county that has been, and still is* gaslighting and harassing them continuously over the years!

I was going to move to quay county but there were some shady people in charge that made me feel unsafe and like freedom was optional. That was nearly 4 decades ago. Never regretted it and this only tells me I made the better choice.
