    Hey Jayson, these videos are great!!! Any plans to make videos for all single jumps, upright spins, sit spin and learning a camel? Thanks!

      It has been a long time since I made those, and I see now there are a lot who make them, I should make some more!

    Was trying to learn this before the winter. I was getting a 'spring' like jump that looked a bit like the correct one but when I looked in video recording I was putting my toe in way past the quarter way around. I need to gain awareness of the position my toe stop is in when it hits the ground.

    I thought for a correct jump take off that you are supposed to be skating on either an outside edge or Inside Edge, depending on the jump attempted, but never on a flat.

    it looks like your using your toe stop is it the same with dance plugs?

    • @rolaboi
      @rolaboi  Год назад

      That would not be easy at all with plugs. I wouldn't suggest trying! No.. They are too high up and small. You could damage your frame.

    How long did it take you to get a controlled single jump when you were learning this?

    • @rolaboi
      @rolaboi  Год назад

      Not too long. I think it was back in like 1981. I was only 11.

      @@rolaboi that’s fantastic. I’m such an over jumper. I have to quit that it’s much less than I imagine it needs to be.

    How does it differ to toe-loop though?

    • @cumintp4060
      @cumintp4060 3 года назад +1

      Exactly the same we just call it diferently

      Toe loop was invented by Bruce Mapes, that's why we call it Mapes, but this video is old, in official competitions they are already switching to call it the Toe loop :)

      Girl why are you in every artistic roller skating video bashing our sport? You literally comment the same thing and someone already educated you. Me and all my crewmates love to watch ice skating and to this day I still don't get it why ice skaters can't understand they are different sports that you can enjoy. Chill girl, is not like ice skating doesn't have any financial support, let us be

  • @krystine49

      There is a wiki for Bruce Mapes, who was a skater with Ice Follies, born in 1901, and is believed to have been the first to do the toe loop jump. Some other skating jumps are named after people like Rittberger (loop), Salchow and Axel. For some odd reason, Mapes stuck as the name for toe-loop in roller skating mainly.

    • @rolaboi
      @rolaboi  Год назад

      @@Timzart7 out of respect too, they should still call it a Mapes.. otherwise, why not change the Lutz to something else, or salchow.. Their name still holds!
