Off topic, Though not sure, but I think my telescope need collimating. Do you have a go-to video/website you can refer to? Do you have some tips/tricks/tools?
I just got my Bahtinov mask yesterday (along with an expensive-ish UV filter) so I can attempt my first astrophotography shots. I guess I'll have to buy ANOTHER clear/UV filter now in order to use it :( If I saw the video correctly, the shiny bumpy side goes towards the lens and the matte smooth side goes out? The instructions that came with the mask didn't say. I'm taking an astronomy class at my local college, which has an observatory. I can hardly wait until we get to use it!
Is it important that the B mask is as close to the camera lens as possible? I've been shopping around myself and have scouted out a mask that will fit over the hood of my lens but not the lens itself. Will that extra 4-5 cm of space make any difference in its effectiveness?
The most "Down to earth astronomy" video on this channel
Thx Astro. After focusing, do you need to remove the filter before taking shots?
Yeah that would be best
@@DowntoEarthAstronomy OK, thought so. Just wanted to clarify. Thx. o7
Congrats on the perfect new sponsor! o7
Follow you for Elite content, started looking at some photography stuff, and here you are again! Cool!
Great video!
url is not valid anymore. I need a mask for an 8 inch Ritchie Chretien. Outer diameter is about 225 mm.

It doesn't matter what side points in or out. Should work either way
Use one of these for my 10 inch Newtonian, its a bloody godsend for imaging.

Don't think so.
