Oh dude, you're in for a treat lol. To get rid of the error on screen you just need to reset file explorer on the task manager, instead of restarting your pc. Here's a few tips, trust me when i say you'll need them: -Check the contacts tab with h or whatever it's bound to, to check who and how many people are around you. Very useful in this mod since friendly npcs change suits alot, it's the best way to avoid fog of war -Check toad's leaflet on radiation. -The best way to hide from npcs like the military is hiding in places like attics. -Not every task is in the tasks tab, a lot of them are in the journal too. I also recommend reading some of the entries if you want. Also this mod will crash a lot so have patience with it lol.
@@WaveysGamingAdventure Once you figure that trick out, you're going to end up doing that more often than you think. Fixes a frankly surprising amount of annoying bugs.
The Oblivion Lost mods, back in the day used to be an adaptation of the good old AMK with dismissed SHoC features such as offline AI life, random events, stalkers being able to trade each other and random emissions. AMK, being a mod that was smaller than a single Megabyte used to do most of these as it has been reportedly made by people (some of them being game engine engineers) who've left GSC (probably to form 4A Games) but Oblivion Lost would have many tweaks on AMK and add a ton of fun content, such as cut mutants, cut maps and some weapons. OL 1.8 + Arsenal RC2 merge was my favourite mod pack back in the day (2012 or so). When I've heard about OLR, I thought it was another Oblivion Lost modpack, however after playing it last year, I've realized how wacky would SHoC be at its release; as OLR is supposed to reflect the game before THQ and the project lead they had assigned would start leading the development and start cutting content. Really janky stuff, and that's coming from a person who've played the Nardonaya Soljanka stuff back in the day. It really is authentic and original, but not intuitive at all. If I hadn't had all that janky mod experience, I wouldn't able to progress in this mod. Anyway. I'd say one of the best STALKER mods is still OGSE. The side-stories it adds and all the contribution to the original STALKER lore is just glorious.
OGSR(E) is still, by far, the best story/gameplay extension mod, no other comes close. One of the first real Stalker mods I played and I was completely blown away at the time.
@@Pixelponny I agree, I still feel that Oblivion Lost 2010 is still probably the best Oblivion + RC2 modpack I can think of to this date. I know there was Ultimate mod too and Lurk 1.05, cant remember if there were others though.
Wow, it's seems they changed some things with the last update. Animations for usable items, more old animations for AI, more random news and changes in some quests. The radiation before was like in original trilogy(didn't had the hit effect and wasn't affecting the inventory). Killing millitary wasn't affecting anything(plus you can take a lot of ammo and weapons out of them). Try to look around every corner of the map(there will be a lot of good stuff). Can't say anything more because I'm playing the older version. Looking forward for new episodes
Gosh, the music in the menu (Lustmord - Black Star) hits me with nostalgia despite hearing it (first time) in 2020. edit- apparently the sound sample was taken from random video of cow send to slaughterhouse. Ouch. Oblivion Lost have unique charm - how many games (beside Stalker ShoC and HL2... and maybe Dead to Right - before it was made from remains of Escape from New York game) have interesting early projects? Most games have some interesting bits at best, most of them removed for good reason. Mostly... 3:00 radiation affecting your inventory? Now I know where AREA mod creator took that idea. Always disabled in my playthough. Edit - is there space and weight limit? Not the first mod to use such restrictions... Dead Air and Road to the North are other examples.
I desperately wanted to play this mod since I love the old stalker concepts, but at first I could not get it running and when I finally could, I realized that I just don't know what to do in Cordon with no money and dead PDA. Guess its time for 4th Vector of Alienation playthrough. Not gonna lie, I would appreciate if someone made a lite version without some of the more harsh features, some of these things were cut for a good reason.
OLR is a great mod but id honestly recommend playing 2.5 first so you don't develop a hatred for it. 3.0 introduced some features that are pretty much just a pain in the ass for no good reason.
Fuck me. The clusterfuck at the end was *exactly* what I was expecting to happen when I first clicked on the video. Those bootleg slavic Stalker mods are something else.
I mistake oblivion lost for stalker lost alpha, but I think you are in for a lot of challenges and pain, I played both 2 years ago and I enjoyed every minute of it, best mods I have ever played in addition to both radiophobia 3 and goldsphere.
I started on Steam Deck. Vanilla and OL- Holy fuck I had so Hardcore Moments like in no other Game. Stalker is a masterpiece in atmosphere. Anomaly is Downloadring. I played ten years ago with OL and can not play without it anymore 😅
The only OL I have tried is Vector of Alienation, it really is something else to play what is essentially the earliest Stalker vison, but my god the jank sometimes
Im waiting this mod about 10 years. But it become rly buggy and actually schizophrenic story mess. A lot of ppl hate it, and hate the author (at least in Russ segment) wich makes me rly sad because Olr 3.0 have A LOT of potential because of his unic features and one of the best a-life in stalker mods. Some of ru modmakers right now trying to fix this mod and make standalone version of this, more reliable and playable. They call it OLR 3.0 SOP and i waiting when they realise this.
ngl pretty rough for a remake. Did the new devs just move the original assets onto the newest version of the engine? DL page has basically no info what was "remade".
VoA has less content It focused less to being faithful to design documents and more focused on having a good story Both are solid and with the new OLR3.0 both are worth playing
VoA is based on an older version of OLR than 2.5, with some story tweaks. Both are good honestly. I find that after you play an OLR mod, you sometimes crave that build stalker feel.
Lost alpha is a not so faithful re-imagination of the old STALKER concept, taking some creative liberties and adding stuff that weren't necessarily part of the original series. OLR is a different beast, especially 3.0, where all the concept documents dating as far as 2004 have been implemented including all the cut features that never made it past the concept stage (infection, contaminated weapons, foods etc, ...), new plotlines and mechanics. 2.5 was hard but 3.0 is HARD like really really hard especially since the game literally do not old your hand over anything.
@@paparazzy1000 Oh thanks, i neved played these mods to be honest. Once tried Lost Alpha and it was a walking simulator so i just quit these mods but i have respect of OLR because its classic

I love the original games, Anomaly, GAMMA, even radiophobia. But this is the most manufactured suffering I have seen so far
it's basically the beta of half life 2
Don't forget, when a mutant is killed by an anomaly it drops an artifact. Especially easy with zombies ;)
Btw, this is a mod remaking the original shadow of chernobyl story, so this is the most alpha mod out there, how the game was supposed to be pre-thq
Probably the best stalker mod ever tbh, hope you enjoy, I sure did.

If we are talking abou OLR, Vector of Alienaton is a fckin masterpiece. It became my favourite STALKER game ever.
Man that soundtrack is so good, pure atmosphere
God i hope Wavey plays OP2 after this one. I wanna see him suffer :D
And I wanna see his playthrough of NLC7 :D
