Actually if elevators drop they have mechanisms to keep the inside safe like slowing it's speed down and it has very strong metal so dying or getting major injuries from it falling is very very very rare hardly ever happens and if you really think about it the wires holding the elevator pulls it up and down so do you really think that the cables can't handle the elevator when it is not moving so elevators falling hardly ever happen in the first place.
