  • Hi. The ‪@CueiWheels‬ were absolutely amazing. Getting to understand stone round wheel finish.
I did stand up around the corner, and practiced kick start to Coleman slide. Such a fun session.

Paint the town! So much thane! Hahaha Looks fun!
Anyways, there are 2 things you could try (separately) to help hook up back onto the board again - since you are low-siding on your hook ups.
    1. Slide shorter (intentionally end the slide quite a bit sooner than you are doing so at the moment). The objective is so that you hook up with a bit more speed - just enough speed for the centrifugal force or momentum to pull your body back up onto the board automatically. And ride away clean.
    2. You could try to grab rail with your rear hand (your arm goes between your rear knee and your rear foot - but your hand can grab anywhere on the board). Grabbing rail allows your weight to be more on the board, which adds more braking force (makes your slides shorter but your thane lines become more prominent). And, while sliding, as you are nearing coming to a stop, give yourself a little gentle tug with your grab-arm to pull your body back up onto the board as you hook up. And ride away clean.
I wouldn't try to do both of them at the same time at first, but you definitely can do them both together for a very controlled braking.

Excellent as always and yes up for both. Truthfully, wanted to be confident on Coleman to stop me, which I know it can. Now to continue downhill-absolutely makes sense. Really liking the shorter slide to continue momentum downhill. Agree on the rail-I think now that I have somewhat better balance and discipline to not over torque-definite go.

BTW, if you have a chance, try the red 80A Flow Thane Cuei Steeze. They slide even more buttery-feeling than Power Thane!

Glad to see your progression. @cantskate5535 is not an accurate name anymore 😂.
Your slides are good now but are you able to dropfoot? At any speed? This is a very useful tool to manage your speed with, like in a narrow area. Open road traffic can sometimes put you into different unpleasant situations sometimes. Also it's a very good exercise for strengthen balance.
    Skate safe friend!

Thank you. Drop foot - not at any speed-really only around 22-25 mph max for now. Working on consistent precarves for both Coleman and push up slides so I can build to higher speeds. Thanks for encouragement and support. 🤘

Drop foot is all about having a solid balance on your front foot. Too many skaters skip this technique because it doesn't look good. But it makes me so much more confident specially into trafic.

@@clemssierbaument9025 I do feel a better sense of front foot balance, however-have not been practicing this skill at speed-so thanks.
