      With a NICU baby we are more cautious. I’m guessing you are still in the NICU? Premature? Then we usually say pump first. Have your drink. Then 3 hours later pump again. By 3hrs after your drink, all of the minutia of alcohol should be out of your blood and milk systems.

    So wait a minute. 0.08 alcohol is enough alcohol to not be able to drive, but safe enough for a baby to consume? I’m not understanding this logic here

    • @DoneNaturally
      @DoneNaturally  Год назад

      The mother’s blood alcohol content is 0.08%. The baby is drinking milk (say 3-4oz) with the content of 0.08% alcohol… making the baby’s blood alcohol content clinically irrelevant, insignificant and not even measurable. Non-alcoholic beer has 0.1% alcohol in it. That’s nearly 7-8X more alcohol in that beer than what a mother’s blood/milk would have IF she’s too inebriated to drive.

      It’s all about your BAC. (Blood alcohol content) More about the ability to take care of a baby than it is about the alcohol content of your milk. So if someone else is caring for baby while you’re out, just make sure you pump to mimic the missed breastfeedings. Then save your milk!

    • @DoneNaturally

      Many women find when they are relaxed their letdown happens faster or is more abundant. For some that relaxation can come from having a drink. Tho the ingredients do not help letdown. With large consumption of alcohol that can actually impair letdown, making it more difficult for a women to have their letdown. I’m not sure what ‘overboard’ means for you tho; in terms of how much. But I’m glad this video helped you not beat yourself up. 😀

This is such a reassuring video to watch. I’m glad it helped! No it is not the same as food we eat. This video may help with that. Think of it this way - so many babies are an 100% formula (from cow milk) and they are just fine. Mothers eating dairy does not lead to a baby rubbing her eyes. ruclips.net/video/8mRzKDepUME/видео.html

      Today Training You are correct, drinking while pregnant is not safe nor recommended. Alcohol consumption during lactation is compatible. This fact can be easily seen and read using all the major organization: CDC, AAP, LACTMED, Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine, and Hale's Medications and Mother's Milk, kellymom and Dr Jack Newman...Just an FYI.

      Today Training I can obviously see why you shouldn’t do it while pregnant. But the last part of your comment is ridiculous. You’re still a human being, if you want to have a drink have a freakin drink. Just follow the guidelines and be safe about it..

      Ok my mom had a beer or two a day breastfeeding me and I actually turned out fine I think lol and my mom is a pretty great mom! You sound very opinionated and one of those people who try to tell every mom they are doing wrong while you believe you are "perfect".

      Get serious “Today Training” the only thing you should be training is your brain to be less judgmental.
      Mothers around the world drink responsibly while Bf and in other parts of the world they even think it’s okay to have the occasional glass of wine while pregnant (although I wouldn’t do this myself) point is, mothers have been doing this for decades and children have turned out okay.
      It’s hard being a mom and if you need that drink to help calm you and relax you from losing your sanity, then go for it and do it responsibly. This is nothing a perfect mother like you, Today Training probably ever have to worry about though🙃
