I definitely agree with everything you said. Growing up, my parents drilled in me a lot of negative ideas surrounding money. How it’s hard to earn, hard to keep, yet everything is expensive, etc, etc. So much negativity and I even started believing it. I had to essentially block out what they were saying, unlearn and realize that if I ever wanted to attract money, my relationship and view of money had to change. Because how do you expect to attract something you don’t believe you deserve in the first place? You’re working against yourself, and yourself and your subconscious will always win in the end.
The mindset change is crucial. I left a job this year that did not believe my work was as valuable as I believed it was. They kept throwing conditions at me to get an 11% raise, which was about $2 an hour raise. I made mistakes like lowballing my desired pay during my interview and not getting promotion promises on paper. At first, I truly was scared that if I left, that no one would hire me for a better salary. But after some support from my family, I realized I needed to value my time and my skills more. I ended up leaving and found that my skills were highly valued and with minor upgrades to my resume, interviewing, etc, I landed in a position where I make double. I wouldn't be here without a mindset change. And it is only the beginning!
Firstly, loved this!! I found that going beast mode (setting goals and sticking to them) as well as listening to affirmations and having a gratitude journal helped me a lot!…other people will deter you and tell you things like “that doesn’t work” or “money haffi spend” but once you slowly start seeing the shift …yoooo nothing can stop you and those same people will ask you how you did it! 😤
I really really love that disclaimer- makes me trust your advice even more. Often, this kind of manifestation talk can feel tone deaf, and it can feel more so when it comes from the mouth of someone who’s never had to go to bed hungry or live somewhere unsafe. As someone who has, it often makes me feel like this isn’t something that could work for me and to just stop listening. But I am still here and I’m here because I believe the first step in making anything better is to have an open mind- if the door is closed so to speak opportunity will never come knocking. you made a very good point. I always ask myself where did these thoughts and beliefs come from. who was I talking to. what was I doing. who was I around. what was I feeling at the time. I get so much clarity when I ask myself question like theses. I love it. I just recently discover that intimidation was running the show. until I said a little affirmation that uncovered it. as soon as that happed things began to appear to me. certain people began to respond to me in a total different way then when intimidation which is another form of fear was present. its truly amazing
