HI mate , great vid! As great as the GS is, it’s a much better bike when you have a street bike to complement it. Two completely different experiences. Enjoy. 😎👍🏻
Noooice share there Ken. I’m on the same boat have no one to ride with… Really glad you found a gang😂 to ride with those beautiful scenic to me roads!!
Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed tagging along virtually and listening to your thoughts and observations. Riding out with friends is really a great activity - just get those safety procedures agreed first. Have fun and ride safe. :>)
G'day Ken. First off, Happy New year brother and I sincerely hope that '23 will be a great year for you. Yay for the Yammie being the "leader of the pack". Can't for the life of me remember who sang that song! I turn 64 and I start to forget s**t. What you are experiencing as you become more comfortable with that beautiful FZ1, is the spirit of youth gone by. Now that's deep and meaningful sh*t right there! LOL🤣🤣. Lets face it brother, regardless of one's physical age, us men (mostly), are instantly returned to our younger, wilder and less wiser days as soon as we rip that throttle wide open. Hopefully we never lose that feeling. Great to see you with a few mates enjoying the day on your bikes. Am I somewhat jealous? Bet your arse I am!! My poor lonely fjr patiently waits for the chance to get out on the road again, but my bloody body is preventing me from doing that at this time, and it SUCKS!! My saving grace is being able to watch your video's that not only let me be along for the ride with you, but they also make me laugh at the way you chat away as you're riding. Really enjoyed riding with you brother. Stay safe as usual.👍👍
Happy New Year Andy, another comment that humbles yo ken. Man I wish I could ride with you. It was a blast, I wish I could have got the one roll race on camera. Its funny you bring up riding along with me on youtube. I just got back from a ride and was asking myself why I make videos, maybe you just answered it for me. I should have that video up by the end of the week, chime on that video and tell me what you think.
That was fun, I wish you guys had more time. I'm ready to go again. I think our total ride time was 5.5 hours that day. I ran into the BMW dealer in a little store here in town the next day.....Dangerous....
Where you located? Riding this time of year I don’t think you’re near me lol …uh you just said North Carolina ,quite a bit south of me up here in Connecticut……. I’m the same way ,as I think most are too, but when you got a bike you’re gonna test it (and yourself too) sooner or later ….which is why after a 20 year layoff from riding I got the 09 fz1 instead of a R1 or gsxr….wanted some get up and go but not more than I can handle and my old ass needed some comfort for my aching body ..love that 919 too , yrs back I was window shopping (online)and I think it was early 2000’s that I fell in love with I think Honda called it something g like ..a super bee 919.?.? Then I saw Europe had the N fz1 and I was torn ….when your roll racing grab a lower gear ,get well over 5000 so your in the power band (hp really starts kicking in from what I hear ) .. I’ll let you know this spring lol…in NC are you anywhere that biker road tail of the dragon ? I see a few motovloggers ride that often ….though some are nuts it looks like it would be a great semi casual ride…
I'm located just south of Raleigh, weather down here can be nice in the winter... we frequently get days in the mid 60's. I was looking to get a naked bike with 150 plus hp, why I don't know:) I Came across this super low mileage FZ1, the price was right... and I said what the heck, lets give it a shot. If I don't like, I know I can get what I paid for it. Turns out I really like it. My GS has more low end grunt, but if the FZ is 6500 rpm or higher and you crank the throttle... it pulls hard, really hard. I kind of screwed up on the roll races, trying to get use to the power curve and were the engine likes to be. I found if I'm in first gear, around 6000 rpm, crank the throttle its a beast. When I get to about 11000 rpm the front wheel comes up about foot and settles down nice. I have seen some people complain about no low end end power, but I have found it to be just fine as long as you in the right gear. Mine is tuned, so maybe that makes a difference. I am about 400 miles east of The Dragon, and about 300 miles east of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Love the 919... what do think of your FZ?
@@Yo-Ken I just bought it this Christmas. So I literally haven’t even ridden it yet….. it was below zero last night and today for most of the day so I am a little jealous of you Southerners, and your warm weather
That Hornet needs gold wheels 🤔👍
That would look sweet.

Thanks... Yes, that's how I feel... you really appreciate the differences.

Its good to be in a gang:)
@@Yo-Ken 🤘
Cool ride eh , always so much fun with a group , but I do love my solo rides , only myself to keep happy 😊
I can see that, but most of riding is solo, so for me its a treat to ride with someone.

Good times.

Agreed, that can be very dangerous.
