In India, 180km/h train speed is called semi high speed. Why? High speed in just 160km/h. Also i am sure trains are also Chinese made.
They are poor. China is investing in their country heavily. No need to be like that... At least , china is doing something for them unlike other countries. Most of the countries don't have direct trains to china and Laos has one is one of the weird thing for me as well but 160km is not a high speed train ,, maybe they restricted it's speed due to lack of energy in their country

you probably don't know that laos is a country called the asean battery and laos' main export is electricity, Laos exports electricity to Vietnam, China, Thailand, Cambodia, Burma, Malaysia and Singapore... Laos has more than 80 power plants and more than 20 power plants are under construction
