GREAT late night chat. When I was in my teens and twenties I searched everywhere for something like this, but it didn't exist because the internet had yet to be launched... Thanks to Chris, Manny and Mix with the Masters for this video!
I've been out of the business for well over 25 years. After watching this, I started to itch. You listen with a new perspective after listening to these guys. You start to long for the days of open reel (but only for a moment). These guys represent the transition and brought that analog magic with them and set the new standard. Back in the day I would have given a piece of anatomy to just to patch and flip for them. This vid is a must see for anybody that has spent days swapping heads, cabs, toms, outboards, etc for just one tone and then hear it happen when a master tweaks a couple of knobs. This is fabulous.
These guys are awesome, but when you are talking about it being a must see for anyone who has spent days swapping heads, cabs, toms, etc. your missing something. These guys mix tracks recorded by professional engineers in pro studios that were played by professional musicians. There is never an excuse for not getting it right at the source
"Let's ask each other some questions about mixing, techniques, and inspiration! it'll be awesome!" End up reminiscnig and remembering funny stories lol.
